FINAL MISSION: OOC DETAILS

Welcome to the final Mission! As all other missions it will be in three parts, and I am going to give the dates here- though, it might change depending on factors.

DATES AND LOGS: We have a preparation post up already. There will be a starting log on the 17th September, and then Ongoing on the 26th September. A Finale post will go up on 7th October. A conclusion post will go up on the 17th October. There will then be a further conclusion post for the game on the 24th with the game officially ending on the 31st October

THE MISSION: The train will return to the void base where they will be called for a meeting. The minstry will explain the plan they have to solve the problems of the shapes in the void and the time paradox caused by the previous voidtreckers. They have come up with a mission that will hopefully deal with everything together, which the details for the missions are below. They have been separated into teams, but your characters can decide to go where they wish- they can make the decision in character on the preparation log as they hear the plans and take part in the preparation.

Please note that there might be some changes to plans depending on discussions on that post. These will, of course, be made clear in the subsequent mission posts.

TL;DR: There is a plan to lure the shapes into the fake system created by Chaos and seal them there. There is another plan to anchor through time to stop the survivors of the train system's destruction from causing a time paradox. This change in time will cause more time shenanigans but there is a plan to use the surge of energy and redirect it to close the rift in the void.

TEAM OBJECTIVES

On day 5, the Ministry and scientists onboard the void base will call a meeting. They will explain the plan. Essentially their aims are to deal with the shapes in the void, close the rift so no more shapes can enter the void, and deal with the issues of the time paradox caused by the previous voidtreckers.

The aims of the mission are simple, if incredibly difficult. The shapes currently occupying the void must be dealt with. The rift we found in the void must be closed. The time anomaly caused by my previous crew must be sealed. They plan to redirect the energy caused by changing time to close the rift.

This mission is larger than a catastrophe mission. There is no risk assessment I can make that is adequate to the dangers you will face. The ministry have assured me that any of my crew who wish to remain on the base to not take this tremendous risk, will be allowed to, and with no judgement.

Red Team

Close the Rift in the void

1. Travel with the Inspectors to the rift in the void.
   
2. Using inspector suit technology set charges up around the rift.
   
3. Use the surge of energy sent from the Orange team to seal the rift.
   

Orange Team

Prepare the site of system #1015 to recieve a surge of energy and redirect it to the tear in the void

1. Set up charges at the site of system #1015, using maps from the voidtrecker express.
   
2. Be ready to receive the surge of energy caused by the changing of time.
   
3. Redirect that energy to Red team.
   

Blue Team

Rescue the survivors of the shape attack on system #1015

1. Use experimental technology to anchor through the void and the passage of time to the voidtrecker express.
   
2. Convince those who survived the attack on system #1015 to not go through with their plan.
   
3. Anchor them and bring them safely to the present.
   

Purple Team

Deal with the shapes inside the Void

1. Go to the fake system created by the entity known as Chaos, enter and try and get their attention.
   
2. Convince them to help contain the shapes.
   
3. Activate the life beacon, drawing the shapes to the system and seal them inside.

EVENT INFORMATION

As the teams will be mostly split, this information is to help you decide where best to send your character, and to hopefully help for planning.

START

RED TEAM: Red Team will travel to the rift in the void with the inspectors, using their own well-protected craft to ensure no issues in reaching their destination. To do their job, they will be given the same suits as what the inspectors wear, allowing them some protection from being out in the void, and also to allow them to 'void walk' -- essentially, to move while outside a craft.

They will be setting charges in and around the rift, as well as working to open a mental link with those on the orange team task. This will result in them receiving a large surge of energy to close the rift.

There are many dangers. The shapes need to be hidden from, and even in inspector suits, being out in the void will be disturbing. What is more the rift in the void makes reality odd, be prepared for a lot of reality warping with a real risk of being lost through a void rift.

ORANGE TEAM: Voidtreckers will travel to the site of system #1015 which is the site of a time paradox. They will set charges around the area using charts from the voidtrecker express. They will work on opening a mental link with those on the red team task which will result in them sending a surge of energy over to close the rift.

Time is very much in flux here, expect strange ageing and de-ageing shenanigans as well as time loops and other problems that will make setting charges difficult to say the least.

PURPLE TEAM: Voidtreckers will travel to fake diagad, where the Ministry will open the seal so that they may enter. Here they will deal with whatever Chaos throws at them, whilst setting up the life beacon, more sealing charges and trying to get the attention of Chaos.

Expect illusions, lots of monsters and shifting settings as Chaos throws the might of their imagination at them once again. As a treat.

BLUE TEAM: Voidtreckers will use experimental time technology with existing anchoring technology to travel to the Voidtrecker Express after the destruction of system #1015 but before the survivors use time travel to try and save them. This will involve passing through the void and time.

Expect weird snippets of voidtrecker past, changing landscapes and a maze of imagery to get through to reach the place and time that they aim for.

Ongoing

Ongoing will not be a huge second thread, since we expect there will be a lot to do in the starting log. However, ongoing will be the place for some NPC threads and setting up for the final moment where the rift will be sealed.

Over in fake Diagad voidtreckers will face Chaos and have one chance to convince them to go along with their plan. On board the past Voidtrecker Express, they will have the opportunity to convince the crew of who they are and why they should go with them rather than completing their plan.

Meanwhile the link will open for red and orange, and there will be an opportunity for some inter team communication as the surge of energy flows through them.

Finale

All the voidtreckers will be reunited in a final battle for their very existence.

As one of those part of the group that successfully convinced Chaos to back down in the first place with the power of Talking and Empathizing about one's Feelings (tm), Kiyoiri will be offering to come along for the Purple Mission to help convince Chaos of the plan.

She already has a pretty clear idea of what might be worth offering- and will openly suggest this to the others, before otherwise noting that they should probably try to be on the same page about things before going into the discussions. That idea essentially boils down to saying the things that took out Chaos' realm are still taking other places down...and this may well be their only shot at preventing any more tragedies like Diagad.

And well if it really appeals, there's the fact that Chaos would be able to presumably do with the Shapes as they desire. That's tempting right?

Kiyoiri will be able to assist largely with physical first aid, and additionally have Takechirou take the form of a Servant who can presumably help shield against some of the illusions- I have to pin this down yet, but as it stands! Let's-a-plot

Well well well, look who's actually doing their job with Blue!

Katsuya is mostly here to be the Heart let's be honest. He doesn't have a lot of sciencey thoughts or thinky thoughts- but he does have street-and-trauma-induced common sense thoughts, and he's ready to add those to the table. Thoughts like 'hey your plan??? ends in your train flying around looking for all of you without any way to find you, and also, a bunch of bad nasty tether muck ups!!'

Katsuya doesn't have the forethought to really do any pre-conversation planning, but he Will at least be bringing his handy dandy pokemon- handy in the sense that Kaseri naturally brings an Aura of Calm, which...hopefully will make convincing these guys to not break reality a bit easier.

Otherwise whatever sounds good will sound great. They totally got this. Yeah.

Seto is sticking with his assigned team until the end. He'll be incredibly annoyed with the shifts in the time stream, but work on taking notes or other solutions to help keep himself organized. He's practiced with mental links and believes he's ready.

Eight year old Seto might make an encore appearance just to be a brat at some point :P

Will we be able to go to other team assignments? Elidibus would bring up his desire to go with purple this time because he had with others had a civil conversation with Chaos before and would possibly be a lot more helpful here than grunt work setting charges.

47 will be sticking with Red Team as he's...almost always done in the past. He'll be ready to help lead the team to victory. The bending reality will be ignored to the best of his stoic ability and he's really good at sneaking around. And also, let's face it, he's got plenty of experience setting charges of all kinds... this is right up his alley.

The mental thing will not be his strong suit if that's a literal thing between red and orange, but he'll cope. He's had Lightning in his head before, he can deal with someone else for a little while. Otherwise, he's all good here.

Garrett

He is not going to like the mental thing, and may shun that entirely if he has the option. But slinking around to set charges will be a breeze for him.

Added bonus will be the de-aging which I will use to deprive arachne Garrett of his monster pieces for a bit. So he can have fun dealing with the loss of that for a while. A thing that will be pleasant... and awkward at the same time since he's been an arachne for a long time now.

Piccolo

This is somehow entirely appropriate. Time for Piccolo to join in on the time travel shenanigans! Everyone else from his canon does it, now it's his turn. Let's do it!

Anyway! Piccolo is ready to watch over his Blue Team charges once more, and he'll take an active stance leading if need be, or helping whoever seems to be best at it, as per usual for him. He may not be good with words but he is the type to tell it to people straight so not so much convincing as just...bluntly telling the old vt team that they're wrong and need to do it their way instead to fix a bunch of bad things from happening.

Reno

Reno will be all over the place for a mission like this. He'll be good at setting up charges where needed, help set up the life beacon and/or protecting it, and definitely looking forward to kicking some monster ass. He's ready for a good fight.

About the only thing he won't be good at is convincing Chaos to do anything useful. Get its attention? Uh, yeah, he's a good, loud-mouthed distraction. But play nice enough to do any convincing? Probably not in this situation. He has something to blame all the bad shit on, he's gonna be here for the fighting part, guys. Heh.

Sebek will protect Kiyoiri from illusions with force while she deals with Chaos. He's out of his element with the larger plot beats, but he can do that.

Daia

Daia's first mission back, and he's going to side with the Red team this time, which will be a first for him. He's kind of hoping to be more than a bystander in a mission for a change, and what better chance than the final mission? He certainly won't get another one.

Daia's going to need a lot of training to get used to the suits. Tech and him are not exactly on speaking terms (expect clumsiness and messups when on the mission). And he's probably going to be really freaked out trying to hide from the shapes while they try to setup and establish contact with Orange. He will absolutely do what he's told to help, but he refuses to sit on the side.

Is this mental link similar to tethering? What should we expect between the characters?

Thanatos

Thanatos will be joining Red as he's willing to put himself in that danger and hopes that strengthening his tether with the train (and also through Chthonic Companions bonds) will for some additional protection.

Than's issue will be opening a mind link with someone from Orange because he's Death Incarnate. I'm waiting on learning more about the link to avoid potentially traumatizing characters.

Where do I read about tethering and reaching out? Lapis is from a point where tethering wasn't so much of a known quantity.

Additionally, it says that those who were good at anchoring and reaching out will be better at opening a mental link. Does this mean that someone who was absent for it will be bad at it?

Yondu was already talking to Kaiba about asking about fake diagad to Kaiba, so he'll be glad that's taken care of. But he'll ask if the void monks are still standing.

Entrapta will offer all of her past research up to the tether guys (about cure-mo, the soul gems, the first one's crystals and all the crystals she got, all the scans that her and Trunks took on the magical scanner) so that if they can't get their original bodies back, she can give them a way for souls to form new solid bodies. (Not quite the original, but she would want to help even temporarily).

ADDED QUESTION FOR YONDU: Can he ask for enough information to keep track of whether the experimental time travel tech is working, since he's decently tech savvy? For the sake of top-leveling and having something to do with himself.

Rezo Greywords

Rezo's going to stick with his assigned color/mission, as per usual. His blindness may slightly complicate the work he's doing but I think it wouldn't make it impossible, especially if another person is able to serve as a sighted guide- Esteban (crowneddragon) is probably going to be doing that!

wrt the mental links with people on the orange team, I'm hoping to throw him at Lioriley (invigorates) at some point because of course I am, but depending on the logistics I think it'd be neat to have him deal with other people too. If possible I'm kind of hoping that this can be finagled to be the thing that finally confirms for him that he doesn't have Shabranigdu inside him anymore.

He's good at talking to children or at least I picture him as such, idk how well I can write it so if people on the orange team are deaging during the mental link stuff he'll probably be one of the better people at handling it.

This bit you wrote in the OOC questions section caught my eye because Rezo's one of the people who is Very Dead in his own world and by this point in time he would now like to do something about that so he can potentially join someone in their own world. If he hears about Entrapta having a way to get new bodies, even temporarily, he'll be very, very interested. Would you possibly be willing to have Rezo and Entrapta interact at some point during the mission prep?
