Dreams of Persimmon

The kitchens have been restocked as they are every month and this month is the small fruit the Persimmon. Newer ones can be bitten into, more ripe ones can be cut open and the flesh inside scooped out. They aren’t a terrible fruit as long as fruit is a favourable food. But there are hundreds of them.

It seems whatever system ordered food did not take into consideration the fact there are far less Voidtreckers than there once were. This much fruit could feed double the train population and still probably be too much, in the way that ingredients of the month often were.

Soup maybe? Sweet pies? Maybe jam is in their future. But someone has to do something about these overflowing baskets!

We're all going on a Summer Holiday

The roof of the garden carriage has been opened to the air and the train is currently meandering its way through the ever sunlit lands of system #32131. It’s warm but pleasantly so. The water features in the garden have more water than usual, becoming fountains for voidtreckers to play in if they wish.

Otherwise there’s plenty of space to laze in the sun, it’s a bit rocky but blankets can be found and laid down, drinks can be brought from the kitchen, snacks too most likely. There is always someone baking on this train.

Watch out though, there are supersoakers on board and plenty of buckets, a relaxing day might not be what everyone has in mind.

Jungle Heights

The latest mission has taken them to a vast jungle, where people live high in the trees. There has been an influx of tree dwelling creatures with sharp teeth, sharper claws and a love of destruction. To make things better the forest floor is not safe, damp and marshy many creatures lurk there ready to bite at ankles and it is home to a root, the sap of which burns.

Team One

Treetop fighting is an acquired skill and one the voidtreckers are having to learn quickly. Swing on vine ropes and tangle with monsters. Quick movement and quicker thinking is needed to take down the creatures in terrain they are naturals at traversing.

Team Two

People here live on platforms in the trees, with bridges and walkways connecting them. Fend off the creatures and chase them away from peoples homes. At least there is slightly solider ground beneath their feet, but they must be careful not to fall to the jungle floor beneath.

Team Three

Many of the people here are not fighters and they need help to get somewhere safer. It's a tough journey through the forest, especially when they leave the bridges and platforms of the village behind. Children may need carried and climbing from one tree to another is difficult even with sturdy branches to walk along.

They must be careful to stay in the trees, avoid getting too close to the forest floor but do not get too high, lest they attract the creatures.

[ The chances of anyone sneaking in on Hythlodaeus are... practically zero, especially when they are steadily in a system rather than traveling through the void.

Which doesn't mean he does anything to stop her, instead getting the full water blast, and laughing lightly. ]

[She's well aware that Hythlodaeus must have noticed her approaching, none of her stealth skills work against soulsight. Still, she'll count the fact that she got him as a win, grinning as she hefts the plastic gun.]

This uniform is a bit on the stuffy side, compared to what I like on a warm day. O' course, ye're still gonna 'ave to catch me...how's yer aim wit' one o' these things?

Well, isn't that for you to find out, then? If you would make a chase for it, then of course I would be happy to oblige!

Where would the fun be if'n I didn't make ye work for it a bit?

[She doesn't have her Ninja job stone, meaning she doesn't have access to some of her more...esoteric modes of movement. Still, she can fire off another jet of water as a distraction, then make a leap into one of the garden's trees.]

Well, getting out of the heat sooner, of course.

[ But he is already moving, not attempting to dodge that shot - he likes the coolness the water brings - but he does very much aim a spray above her head - even after two shots, he's not sure how much force the water spray applies, so perhaps something like this is safer. ]

These odd clothes do get stuffy rather easily.

[Drat, distraction not as effective as she expected. The spray of water sprinkles over her head, enough to get her hair damp. She mutters a curse, even as she has to stifle a laugh, and turns around on her branch to fire another shot back.]

Fabric's kinda thick, innit? Least fer this kinda weather.
