We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

First Thing: An Important Announcement

All journeys have an end and as I am sure you have all guessed from the building of the plot over the last few months we are reaching the end of ours. We aren't quite there yet but wanted to give you some sense of time to assist in your planning.

Voidtreckers will be entering Endgame on the 1st September 2022. This doesn't mean the game will end on that date- but we will enter an endgame state. We imagine that the endgame will take about two months but it might be shorter or longer than that- we will be playing it very much by ear.

Important dates to know for now are that the next app round (for boarding on 1st August) will be the last open application round of the game. There will then be a final round (for boarding on 1st September) that will be for previous voidtreckers only- for anyone who wants to return for endgame.

We are very much on track for the planned ending and I hope it will be an exciting ride! I'd like to take the time to thank everyone who has played in the game over the years and made it what it is! I look forward to reaching the end of this journey with everyone who wishes to be here.

IC Month

This month is the month of Symphony. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is "“Sometimes it takes a wrong turn to get you to the right place.."

This means: Tagging into top levels will earn you two months during July and August.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during August AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC.

The ingredient of the month is Broccoli. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month’s chore assignments are:

Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation
Blue: Laundry
Purple: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms

The Train

This month, passengers voted for an upgrade to the Stable and Kennels Carriage. When they return to the train they will find:

The walk-in washing station has been given an upgrade, allowing the floor to be raised depending on the required height: this can be used for washing, or now as a grooming table. The hose has more features and allows for an easier adjusting of temperature and spray styles, and there is a pole above the station with a leash so that animals can be restrained. Along with the grooming brushes are now wool shears and nail clippers. Inside the cupboards with the buckets and food are some large and small blankets, a mix of toys meant for animals, and a collapsible skirting table.

A while ago (I think it was over a year) I asked about if there were any plans on letting a player have more than 4 characters in game at once, and you guys said you might consider that in the future. Given how soon the last app round is, figured this may be my last chance to ask. Will we be able to bring in more characters for end game stuff? If so what would the rules and restrictions be? Thank you so much.

We won't be upping the cap for characters before end game but for the final round we will allow people to bring in old characters that they played previously above the cap of four as long as they feel they can write them all through endgame. Hope this makes sense!

It makes sense, and thank you. I need to consider if I would bring Kharry back or not. I'm not sure. They would or would not have their Train memories if they do come back?

Yes it would be the version of the character that had been on the train so they would have their train memories.

I might be bringing Kharry back then, thank you. Plotting to see if I can make things work this time.

With the end of game in sight, is there any type of sequel, continuation type game planned? Or in the case of a whole new game, something new? I have certainly enjoyed my time here and much of the atmosphere. I would always love to see more. Though I understand that is difficult or a tall order unless something truly is planned.

Also understand if it is too early to have an answer to this question ofc.

I'm glad to hear you enjoy the game. There isn't a sequel or continuation planned- though there may be scope for some kind of musebox depending on endgame shenanigans.

As for new games... Never say never but I will certainly be taking a break for a while at least!

Character: Seto Kaiba
About them: Former bigshot gaming-tech CEO and single-minded card game rival turned tech support on a mission to save the universe and his (gasp) friends.

Plans: He can feel that they're approaching the final mission...the pieces are coming together, and they'll soon have what they need to make an attempt at untangling this mess. So he'll be focused on preparing. Tinkering in the lab to build shields, combat training...that kind of thing. He'll also be trying to reach out in the void for his lost loved ones.
CR wanted: I'd like to spend these last two months before endgame trying to forge and strengthen bonds, so...all of it? There are a lot of people he'd like to catch up with it.
Things to avoid: Just romance, he's spoken for.

Character: Jake Peralta
About them: A wisecracking pop-culture obsessed NYPD detective who just wants to support the heroes and try to solve some mysteries. He's kind of a mess. Please help.

Plans: He'll go to target practice...something big is coming and he doesn't want to be the fool who dies in the last half hour of the movie. He'll also be creating a mess of theories on notebook paper in the library.
CR wanted: I want to catch back up with CR now that we're near the end...he cares about the population in general, but there are people he needs to protect here!

Character: Thanatos

About them: From Hades, Red Team point of contract (not a leader), Death Incarnate who is actually a nice guy (but also tsundere and emotionally confused) but is still learning how to be his own person instead of just his job as God of Gentle Death and more.

He's been here since the start of Jelly and is often accompanied by a moving plush mouse (Mort) who squeaks and wants to ~~FITE~~ protect Thanatos. Than can often be found in the quiet car, giving himself a break from feeling ill and overwhelmed by all the sensations he feels on the surface (vs the Underworld). He'll also be found in the greenhouse car, probably searching for Persephone among the Void.

Plans: He's going to be focusing a lot on reaching out for those lost (more than just Persephone mentioned above). He's not going to be the most social because he's still hurting a lot over people leaving and not wanting to make new connections. Emo death god is being emo.

CR wanted: Open to CR ideas, except romance. He has lost some long standing CR, so that is weighing on him and making him fall back on bad habits on fixating on work and pushing aside his own feelings. He's going to be testy and likely to DONE with anyone who gets on his nerves, so maybe don't do that. (See: Wash and cat!Athena)

Things to avoid: Do not try to restrain him, especially by grabbing his wrists or shoving him into a small space. Thanks, Sisyphus. You took a perfectly good death godling, gave him a month shackled in a box, and now he has trauma and a lot of insecurities. And the train made it worse.

Other: Than also has a permissions post for characters who have connections to death (though more for potential thread/CR ideas as Than has given up trying to understand this train) and also for Hades game spoilers if that's something you're worried about.

Character: Sebek Zigvolt

About them: From Twisted Wonderland, Purple Team. Sebek is a very loud and eager half-fae freshman in a magic school based off a bunch of Disney Villains. At just age 16, he's 6 feet 2 inches, so he seems really imposing... and then you realize that he's a puppy who has dedicated himself to Malleus. Everything practically goes towards bettering himself as a guard for him. He's still a kid who is secretly dealing with some issues of being mixed race even if he boasts how much better Briar Valley is and trying to present himself as fae rather than also part human. He can seem rude, but he'll be quick to recognize other's skills too. Except when it comes to Silver to his face. (Don't tell his rival Silver he actually thinks well of him!!)

Plans: A long term goal is for Sebek to reconcile with being half-fae, half-human and accept that he doesn't have to try so hard. He can live his own life too. It's not healthy for a 16 year old to spend every waking moment trying to improve himself to better serve someone else as his sword or shield.

A short term goal is for someone to knock into him that he really shouldn't be going around calling humans "human" because he has identity issues. Sebecky, you are adorable, but don't follow those racist jerks who object to a powerful fae marrying a magic-less human dentist. That's why you have identity issues in the first place! 8|

In the meantime, he'll be studying lots in the library and training in the gym. Also eating more than what a human could eat.

CR wanted: He's still rather new, so bring it all to me.

Things to avoid: Nothing I can think of.

Character: Katsuya Jonouchi
About them: An AU muse and a CRAU from a pokemon game centered in Alola, he's had his personal arcs largely wrapped up and is thus a pretty good source of a stable head. That or a bad influence, because at the end of the day he's still an 18 year old with a tendency to punch first, ask questions next, and then manhandle a bit afterward, damn the consequences.

Bruiser attitude and lack of an INT stat aside, he's also openly a pokemon trainer, with a team of Basically Livestock; he can also turn into a dragon, and notably, has a dragon for his shadow on top of that, which makes for some pretty nifty bait and switch tactics.

Plans: Jonouchi is the one muse who doesn't especially have set plans going into the endgame; beyond doing his Very Best, he's mostly here to help everyone else get through their turmoil! Good Guy Jonouchi.
CR wanted: Let's get more friends going shall we? Thanks to everything happening IRL the last bit, Jonouchi needs to do a bit of CR strengthening, oops, oops.
Things to avoid: Nothing comes to mind, but! As Jou is technically a seer, he has an opt-in page over here for that ability. Worth checking out!

Character: Kiyoiri Matsuda
About them: An OC built for a specific canon- she's also a clone, and as such as an opt-out available.

Kiyoiri comes from a crossover AU following the Fate/GO storyline; she's recently turned 14 (I have to update her roster age), and was generally a team medic of sorts, with minor skills in first aid and similar. Accompanied by a portion of a Noble Phantasm to fill the void a Servant typically would, she's also started learning some tricks from Kabuto to further bolster her healing range!

She also has her girlfriend's status-condition rifle, and she ain't too bad a shot.

Over all, a somewhat blunt girl with a struggling grasp on expressing emotions, who's doing her best- likes pastel colors, and drawing manga.
Plans: Kiyoiri for the most part will be working with Kabuto, though to what end precisely, I have yet to determine. How far down the ninja rabbit hole do I want to go?? That's a lot of power for us to decide, but we have to somehow.

Otherwise, Kiyoiri's 'plans' are essentially 'do one's best, and help where possible'. Depending on what the conclusion people drew about spirits and voidmetal are, not to mention future stuff though, I'm wondering if her Diagad Ability to Summon the Dead might come into play. Ooooooo.

As a side plan, I'm going to be playing around with her bond with Sebek. She is now uncannily capable of knowing where he is on that train, and possibly elsewhere. Have fun with that, TWST folk.
CR wanted: Kiyoiri needs to really focus on strengthening current CR paths, but for both new and old CR, she could use some prodding into non-serious things. She's doing a lot of practice and not a lot of drawing, it's very sad.
Things to avoid: While I would hope it not be an issue, Kiyoiri is transgender, so please, no negativity relating to such in her threads.

Character: Emporio Alniño
About them: A canon character, and a massive walking spoiler- his Opt-In/Opt-Out is over here, for those who do or don't have JJBA Part 6 plans.

Emporio's a kid who's doing a good job coming out of his shell, which seems strange for a train that's basically moving battlefield to battlefield until you look at how his last 11 years went. While on the train he's learned to enjoy himself! To reach out to others, to laugh and play and smile! It's pretty impressive!

He's also been praciticing for combat yes, but he's learned that it's okay to stay back from the fighting for reasons other than being scared out of his wits. He's finding that balance! In general he's just a really good kid. Smart, too- ask him about the time he exploded a machine by changing the water around it into something flammable.

Plans: Emporio is a little tricky as far as plans go, because while he's closer to a fulfilled character arc of sorts, the real character arc is arguably the one that endgame will or won't resolve. Right now he thinks he's one of those super dead no-tether folks without a body! That is not actually true, not that he is aware. Oop!

In any case, he's going to just be doing what he can to keep everyone's spirits up. Yay Emporio.
CR wanted: Really, he could use more casual fun times. Less sads, more glads, if you catch my drift. It might be hard because a lot of things are exploding, but by god, we will try.
Things to avoid: Nothing is coming to mind right now, and I did link his opt in/opt out for those worried about him spoiling the end of his series, so...Yeah! All good here.

Character: Xie'er/Scorpion King
About them: Xie'er was taken off the streets and raised by Zhao Jing. He was taught to serve him and be his weapon. He is a very good assassin and formed the Scorpion Sect so they could act on Zhao Jing's plans. They are famous for their poisons. He is just recently learning that his Zhao Jing never loved him and is coming to terms with it. He desperately wants someone to serve who would love and respect him in return.
Plans: No tentative plans at the moment. He's simply practicing his martial arts, swordsman ship, learning the guqin, practicing his pipa, and meditating. He is also teaching LO more about poisons and learning from Xue Yang too. He's just starting to teach Quatre how to fight more. He's also hanging out with Lan Sizhui alot with training in their martial arts and swordsmanship. He's also playing his pipa alongside Lan Sizhui when they practice their instruments.
CR wanted: I would like Xie'er to meet more of the Untamed Cast, MDZS, Heavens Blessing and other C-drama, animated, or novels. I also want him to meet more healers and get involved with that. Other martial artists, swordsman, or even assassins would be great. I'm open to positive and negative CR especially if it's discussed.
Things to avoid: Saying that he failed and did a bad job in the tasks. This would result in meltdowns. Insulting his Yifu while this result in a rage.
