We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is the month of Poi. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your own path".
This means: Any thread where you tag into another character's post or top level in January or February will earn you two bonus points.
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during February AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC.
The ingredient of the month is Corned Beef. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month’s chore assignments are:
Orange: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Blue: Meal Preparation
Purple: Laundry
Red: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
The Train
As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage to which you are adding. There is also a handy spreadsheet here!
Important Dates
This month’s event will be an mission from the 15th to 28th of January.
The TDM will be posted on the 17th. Reserves will open on the 19th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th. AC is between the 23rd and the 30th.

~ The roster has been updated with points for this month.
~ When at the shop terminal the Voidtreckers will find a button in the corner that reads 'VOTING'. Selecting this will switch the page over from the shop to VOTING POOL. Exactly how it works is explained in detail on that page but it is a way for passengers to band together to buy larger or longer term items, including carriages themselves.
Every IC month (every two OOC months) characters will earn 5 votes which they can use to vote on additions to the train. If they wish they can spend points on additional votes (one vote is five points.) From February new characters will be allowed to swap their initial 3 points for a vote if wish in their first month only. To keep things fair everyone in game from 1st January and the launch of the voting pool will start with 6 votes.
Characters can also submit things for the voting pool. Everything is subject to mod approval before it is allowed to be voted on. Anything that reaches its vote goal will be fulfilled at the next station stop just like purchases from the shop.

Character: Nell Ingram
About them: 23 year old, married for eleven years, widowed and alone for the last five. Raised in God's Cloud of Glory church outside of Knoxville, Tennessee - which is effectively a polygamous cult. She's lived mostly apart from it since her marriage, but has been seriously harassed by the church men since her husband died. She's pretty much lived off the grid all her life, so she's very self-sufficient and tough, but with little life experience. She can grow anything, connect with the land, and if someone bleeds on the land she can feed them to it. So far she's only done that once and she never wants to do it again. (But she will.)
She's not always very trusting - especially around men - but she has a good heart and a huge soft spot for children or anyone being abused. In general if people are good to her, she'll be good to them.
Plans: Apparently, Yondu and Kyoko have plans to get Kyoko to be a 'bad influence. I'm all in favor. She's getting a kitten at the next platform for company and to see if she can still use her Diagad ability to communicate with animals. She's also losing her current roommate and gaining another, so there's that. Yondu's offered to teach her at least some basic self-defense and she's offered to help him explore his ability to connect with the land.

Things to avoid: You might not want to get handsy with her if you're male presenting. She will fight as if her life depends on it.

and i cannot stress how excited she will be to see a kitten. she was told cats are extinct where she's from and has only seen them in pictures. and she has a whole Thing with animals (in canon, ones that would normally be hostile to her aren't, even when they are to everyone else, and they'll even jump in to defend her if they see her in trouble), too, so i think that might be fun to have come up?? maybe?

He's def going to try and start covering a wider area with the changing stuff after talking to her, too, so he can cover more plants (which would help him a lot in combat).
