January Information and CR Meme!
We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is the month of Poi. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your own path".
This means: Any thread where you tag into another character's post or top level in January or February will earn you two bonus points.
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during February AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC.
The ingredient of the month is Corned Beef. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month’s chore assignments are:
Orange: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Blue: Meal Preparation
Purple: Laundry
Red: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
The Train
As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage to which you are adding. There is also a handy spreadsheet here!
Important Dates
This month’s event will be an mission from the 15th to 28th of January.
The TDM will be posted on the 17th. Reserves will open on the 19th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th. AC is between the 23rd and the 30th.

Other Info
~ The roster has been updated with points for this month.
~ When at the shop terminal the Voidtreckers will find a button in the corner that reads 'VOTING'. Selecting this will switch the page over from the shop to VOTING POOL. Exactly how it works is explained in detail on that page but it is a way for passengers to band together to buy larger or longer term items, including carriages themselves.
Every IC month (every two OOC months) characters will earn 5 votes which they can use to vote on additions to the train. If they wish they can spend points on additional votes (one vote is five points.) From February new characters will be allowed to swap their initial 3 points for a vote if wish in their first month only. To keep things fair everyone in game from 1st January and the launch of the voting pool will start with 6 votes.
Characters can also submit things for the voting pool. Everything is subject to mod approval before it is allowed to be voted on. Anything that reaches its vote goal will be fulfilled at the next station stop just like purchases from the shop.

kyoko sakura (au) - purple
About them:
- just coming off of hiatus! the holiday season, amirite?
- a tsundere tough-gal magical girl from a world where magical girls' emotional energy is exploited without their knowledge (most of the time) or consent (all of the time) to prevent the heat death of the universe. she can turn into a Bad Monster (a witch) if her soul gem -- which is literally her soul removed from her body, as well as her source of magic -- collects too many impurities, which happens when she uses magic or gets too emotional. she can't keep it clean normally because the doohickeys used to do so don't exist out here
- she has a good heart, deep down, but she's covered it up with sarcasm and jadedness after the trauma of losing her family (which she blames herself for)
- content warnings and magic permissions stuff here
- so, kyoko's upward character arc kind of crashed and burned back in september/october, and now that a little time has passed, her regression has stalled out and she's just kind of treading depressed water
- she has a bracer from usagi that will keep her soul gem from breaking into a grief seed if it gets too dark
- her current purifiers are nozomi and elidibus
- her train parent is yondu
- tbh, taking the latest revelations... not really in stride? but, like, apathetically. she looked at the information, looked at her situation (soul is a gem instead of in her body, and on top of that, she's dead anyway, which means not only is her body gone, but her soul gem is shattered too), and kind of shrugged. she's a bit like, "i already knew i was screwed, now i know i was right." she's having trouble with that whole "where do you see yourself in five years" concept anyway, y'know?
Plans:
- if anyone wants/needs follow-up on the whole, "that teenager almost turned into a monster and publically asked for help" shtick from back in september/october... which i definitely majorly dropped the ball on the resolution of... lmk and we can talk out what we need to
- i have something planned with elidibus to where he'll block the accumulation of emotional impurities in her soul gem
- kyoko is going to be interested in figuring out how to purify her soul gem without relying on other people, but failing that, she'll definitely take more people who can purify her soul gem. she doesn't want to put her eggs in one basket again, if she can't keep them in her own basket (... okay not the best metaphor i guess)
- otherwise, she's going to largely be maintaining her status quo: training in the gym, time training in the gym, playing video games (especially DDR) in the games carriage, and sitting around snacking pretty much wherever
CR wanted:
- handwaved CR; kyoko's hiatus was on autopilot, and she'll have been alternating between being depressed in her cabin and not sitting still. (see her status quo listed above)
- also top of my list are roommates, bc i havent ever gotten around to actually doing anything with them this entire time and like, i finally should. points at eyes, points at sleeper lower 3 cabin A folks
- also, OTHER KIDS / TEENS. she needs more CR with peers, and younger kids are great too bc she used to have a younger sister, and there's an urge towards responsibility deep down in there that i think would be good for her to tap into

kumoko returns to the train and her points have reset, she's so sad but at least she still has a storage dimension full of snacks. roommates can have some, as a treat and as a diplomatic gesture.
