January Information and CR Meme!
We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is the month of Poi. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your own path".
This means: Any thread where you tag into another character's post or top level in January or February will earn you two bonus points.
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during February AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC.
The ingredient of the month is Corned Beef. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month’s chore assignments are:
Orange: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Blue: Meal Preparation
Purple: Laundry
Red: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
The Train
As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage to which you are adding. There is also a handy spreadsheet here!
Important Dates
This month’s event will be an mission from the 15th to 28th of January.
The TDM will be posted on the 17th. Reserves will open on the 19th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th. AC is between the 23rd and the 30th.

~ The roster has been updated with points for this month.
~ When at the shop terminal the Voidtreckers will find a button in the corner that reads 'VOTING'. Selecting this will switch the page over from the shop to VOTING POOL. Exactly how it works is explained in detail on that page but it is a way for passengers to band together to buy larger or longer term items, including carriages themselves.
Every IC month (every two OOC months) characters will earn 5 votes which they can use to vote on additions to the train. If they wish they can spend points on additional votes (one vote is five points.) From February new characters will be allowed to swap their initial 3 points for a vote if wish in their first month only. To keep things fair everyone in game from 1st January and the launch of the voting pool will start with 6 votes.
Characters can also submit things for the voting pool. Everything is subject to mod approval before it is allowed to be voted on. Anything that reaches its vote goal will be fulfilled at the next station stop just like purchases from the shop.

About them: From Brooklyn Nine-Nine. NYPD detective with a pop culture addiction, unhealthy diet habits, unorthodox case-solving methods, and far too much to say about everything. He's a little immature but he means well, promise.
Plans: Between my two he'll be the one actively greeting newcomers on platform day. He tries to be friendly and welcoming, but definitely crosses the line into obnoxious sometimes. Beyond that, he's a curious thread-puller and investigative type, so he tries to go for missions involving that. So many questions about what they're going through, so few answers.
Also, he's sorry he accidentally caused all that bother a few days ago. He's going to try to make it up to people. Let's find things to cheer up about?
CR wanted: Friends please? Plot-solvers? Rein in his impulsive blathering! Give him kids to watch out for. He really does want everyone to pull through together.

seto kaiba

Character: Seto Kaiba (Orange)
About them: From Yu-Gi-Oh. Former big tech CEO and sneering rival person, now team tech support and begrudgingly cooperative most of the time. Will be a little less friendly this month, see below:
Plans: Alright, so some context here: a few months ago on the fake Diagad mission, Kaiba ran into another version of himself. The other Kaiba sneered at this Kaiba's insistence that he had crewmates he cared about, because they're all going to leave you and then you'll be left incapacitated by a hole of grief that you dug yourself into, you idiot.
Well, guess what's happened and who's the idiot now? :D He hasn't lost everyone, but a steady drumbeat of heavy losses has finally broken the dam. Basically, platform's going to be one giant meltdown followed by some desperate dragon zen.
For newbies, don't worry, he'll be more back to his old thorny self and able to forge CR the normal way by mission time. He's just going to be a little more canon-typical cynical and wary for a while.
Combat training will follow a few days after platform. He has lightning powers from the Diagad mission, some formal martial arts training, and darts skills. He wants hardcore, painful training to be ready for real world situations.
CR wanted: Please build things with him, or play some board games? But he'll largely be focused on train work and staying useful. He'll usually be accompanied by either his dragon apple Pokémon, an Applin called Snapper, or a shade of his Blue Eyes summoned by a glove a departed friend gifted him a while back. Please talk to him about dragons, it's a joy.
Things to avoid: Don't say the 'adoption' or 'family' words around him unless you want a long lecture about how forging those bonds is a mistake and only opening yourself to further pain. At least for now, it's a big sore spot.
