Purple Team organising, team organising in general?

Hiii. Before Roland's player (Lexi) became busy with RL, I know they wanted to change the way that leads were seen for Purple Team, and to make team organising/contributing (hopefully) both more open and laxer, to fit the way the game runs.

Since not one person helps prep a team, I wanted to know what everyone thinks about this - both OOCly and ICly, since it would be a change that would have to be agreed on.

CHANGES/REWORKINGS:
  1. Team Leads/Liaisons ➞ Team Spotters. ICly, the title lead is an authoritative one that implies responsibility for a group of people that's largely fluid (and honestly, most characters don't like the idea of being a 'lead', even if they want to help!). Characters are encouraged to go and do what they want, and this is what they do - even without encouragement, really.

Team Spotters better describes the take any lead position could take, given the nature of the game. Keep an eye on people, keep track of what's going on; it neither implies nor puts emphasis on a few people doing a job that's not really manageable. Another idea is Team Organiser.

There can be any amount of Spotters, since they would be expected to work as a group to keep watch on people with Purple. But also if a Spotter wants to hop over to another team for whatever reason, there's someone else to take over.

  2. Team Census ➞ Scrap? The game is big. ICly it might make some sense, but with the way characters go where they want, it's largely useless. We could have a file that lets people know the jobs their character can do to help the team, or what might come up, but otherwise, I don't think we need to be too worried about lists.

Instead, since there's usually meetings before teams go out for missions, it can be assumed that the usual standard of "who's a healer, who can help carry extra supplies/listen to comms" happens then. As people move around between teams, this makes more sense.

  3. Team Overview. In place, we have a simple sheet (like this) that's like hey, this is what happens, this is what characters can say they're doing on a mission! Handwaved assumptions!

  4. Any other ideas? tbh if anyone has any ideas or what they think helps/makes things easier, let's discuss them! I see any leading or organising as a very background thing. The game has been around long enough that some people do try to organise, but everyone is fairly go with the flow. We don't want to say there isn't anything being done, but we also don't want to be too fussy over something that people largely aren't here for, or simply don't have the time for it.

General Team Organising: TBH a good system for the game is a group of Organisers from different teams being in the background helping with preparations for missions would make sense for where the game is, and what would seem to work ICly and OOCly. They make sure each team has [x] supplies, have people who help with overall meal prepping, and this is a system that anyone can come and work on.

And then when mission time comes around, you get the groups who come together and tasks/roles are decided before arriving on at a mission site. This seems to be largely how missions work anyway, and people usually have Their One Job already they like.

There has been a handwaved discussion on what happens before/during missions. Would people like a page/sheet for this that's tidied and we can all agree on as a thing?

those changes for purple definitely sound fine with me! especially since i don't think anyone else is interested in doing all of that census work now in the first place, haha..

i can't believe you made me google what the word spotter means though

/thumbs up to alla this

Soldat is not interested in officially spotting, even if they... technically kinda do anyway half the time, since they usually have an Arms band and try to make sure people are geared and fed up.

Yeah, Soldat is official food person for Purple and Red, both. Totally cool with working with Senku if wished!

Now just gotta find who does food for Blue :B

Senku is totally on board with this. Usually he's puttering around preparing food care packages, although he hasn't learned the recipe of the lembas bread if you can believe that! Teach him your ways Soldat!

He's helpful with other things, and he's fine making it for everyone too. Lot of experience cooking for a lot of people. It's not an official role for him, he just does it. He's like that.

Non-purple character aside, HI I HAVE TWO.

I think all of this sounds fine, considering you're right that not everyone stays. (Demyx will probably stay, Prompto will probably go to red, that's just the way it is)

And neither one of them want any responsibility, aside from being combatants who can be called upon to get people out of trouble, for example. I think most of the team would take care of each other as needed anyway, everyone's good people.

OOCly I'm always happy to help, when I'm back from hiatus, if there's anything that should come to mind.
