We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is the month of Merriment. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something".
This means: Any thread where you tag into another character's post or top level will earn you two bonus points during July and August.
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during August AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC.
The ingredient of the month is coconut. Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom, refreshed at the platform, and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month’s chore assignments are:
Blue: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Purple: Meal Preparation
Red: Laundry
Orange: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
The Train
As a reminder, you can list things that characters have added to the train here. Just comment under the header of the carriage to which you are adding. There is also a handy spreadsheet here!
When passengers return to the train after picking up new arrivals they will find sleeper carriage 5 has been removed- the four passengers from that carriage have been reassigned to different cabins, though no room-mates have been split up.
They is a slight change to the armoury- additional communal lockers- one for each team and a multi team locker. Information about that can be found on the settings page and the list of communal supplies can be found here.
Important Dates
This month’s event will be a train event running between the 12th and 17th of August.
The TDM will be posted on the 17th. Reserves will open on the 19th. Apps are between the 22nd and the 29th, and AC will run between the 23rd and 30th.

Lan Jingyi (AU) (Untamed)
About them: Untamed, Purple, AU, U2:D. Your friendly, local, loud dragon shape shifter and martial artist who can fly as a dragon, or on his sword, who routinely fights what we might term supernatural creatures or occurrences on "Night Hunts" along with fellow young cultivators. Senior cultivators tend to provide near-area assistance! He's used to dealing with the dead, settling spirits to rest, fighting possessed statues, getting choked out by possessed statues... life's exciting, folks. Especially when you mouth off. At people in power. Look, if you want someone to be direct with you, Jingyi's your guy!
Plans: Oh goodness he has one log I'm doing this month at start, which is going to be... arm wrestling with Dennis and then literally anyone else who comes across them, because he's also drinking! To lead toward silly shenanigans as he wanders the train, so that'll be an open log of either human-formed or dragon-formed silliness when he's tipsy and 100% a creature of immediate whim or a very concentrated and weirdly clearheaded looking fighting ability. Wanna spar the drunk dragon?
Beyond that, I have nothing concrete in mind, he's just settling in now after a full month and plans to fly on platform again. (Sizhui, Inigo, and if Ryo wants, he's coming for you three in particular!)
His slow-grow powers from mission are silly, but if anyone wants to accidentally get little snippets of song stuck in their heads for a few minutes, especially when he's playing his qin! Which he'll be doing as one of many forms of practise over the next OOC month/IC two weeks. His telekinetic shields he'll be using as a sort of "huh wonder if" and messing around with doing something steady instead of with wind/air, his usual element. Talking about the level of moving a teacup with a shield... see how that goes.
CR wanted: Friiiiiends, he's a good friend! Even if he's not always delicate (unless you ask), and is bluntly direct, he's staunch once you are friends. He'd love sparring partners, people who shapeshift to hang out around, people who want to try and dad him because he would find that Remarkably Bizarre, teens he can watch out for, more people to tell him secrets he can keep them and wonder why he knows these things anyway? He likes gossip too that people can talk about!
Generally speaking I love tossing him into all dynamics, and he's a great character for people who want direct confrontations because he's blunt enough to speak his mind. He's not ill natured, but he's already run into a lot of culture divide issues he's not prepared to handle delicately (if he handles much delicately), and his head's going to be reeling for a while.
Oh wait also he needs happy romantic movie watching buds, specifically happy ones for the endings, not happy for anything else. Let it be tragic as all get out but they still find each other in the end! Let his romantic heart live!
... And people who don't mind nap buddy dragon friend. He's starting to miss that more and more from home, and if it's napping in human or dragon form, he doesn't care. It's the casual closeness for tactile reinforcement that he's used to and missing.
Things to avoid: Not needing to avoid, but as a heads up for players/characters, the Lan forehead ribbons are ICly very important to them, meant to be handled by Family/Significant Other only. He wears his at almost all times, even in the Spa, and also as a dragon. Be aware that if your character does deliberately take hold of or try to remove his forehead ribbon, Jingyi will react negatively accordingly--and give a lecture on why they should Never Do That. I'm fine with it being a joke ongoing, but he'll get increasingly irritated, just so it's known! His reaction will be milder if it's accidental/incidental touch.

Danny is going to be looking for people who have experience with supernatural stuff who could help him with A. training as a ghost or B. willing be a Plan B to take him out if he gets brainwashed again, so this could be a good opportunity to meet. Also hes absolutely on board if flying is happening.

As for Danny, hahaha that works for Jingyi, who specifically will start out asking him hey so uh. Is possession. A thing you can do. While slowly draining of colour. And flying happens as a dragon! If Danny wants to play aerial games in the taller carriages, Jingyi's happy to do so, it's better exercise and more entertaining than doing anything on his own alone!

Danny awkwardly confirms that that's a thing he can do. But he tries not to do that except in emergencies. And hey, he can break them too.
Danny would jump at the chance to play flying games. He really misses flying while the train is out on the void, and you can only do laps around the ceiling so many times.

The breaking them that is good news, Jingyi's One Unreasonable Fear (especially for a cultivator) is possession by human-ghost in particular so he's like ah yes. Grand. /sobs inwardly

Ryo will absolutely do nap cuddle times with Jingyi - he's been missing hugs and casual touch and hadn't really realized how much until these past few days. Cuddle buddies :|b

Hah, lovely! Jingyi usually offers that here as a dragon, but is fairly fine as human, he just tends to sleep. On his back and with his arms crossed over his chest normally so uh. Human cuddling has that hilarious edge of "so by cuddle we mean you probably cuddle him," because in human form, he doesn't really get sleep cuddling. Just sitting up cuddling in that "lean into me way this is fine." (The concept of spooning would ?!? him.) Dragon cuddling he's all over the place!
... and please. Help his dumb self the next morning, this was probably not the best idea he's ever had but it was worth it! He thinks! Probably? Jury's still out on that one.

I'm imagining Ryo reading or working in his garden or taking notes with dragon Jingyi in his lap or draped over his shoulders, though Cuddling Nap With Small Dragon is also amazing.
Don't worry, he'll help. The hangover cure is somehow both bitter and sour, but it beats dehydration.
