Mission Two: A City Falls

On Day 7 (OOC: 13th September) The train on everyone’s Safety Control Apparatus will shimmer in multi colours looking almost like the void itself. A moment later a holo-screen will pop up with the following information.

Destination: Culin’e’ai. World designation #25768. Known to its local inhabitants as earth. World #25768 is a vast planet with many peoples and cultures. Culin’e’ai is based in the South-Western continent, a land known for it’s beautiful landscapes and vast lakes. Culin’e’ai is a small city far in the mountains towards the south. It is attack by a goblin nation. This is common in the rainy season and the children have been evacuated north to safety. However it has come apparent that this attack is not the usual raids but much more organised. There are still non combatants in the city and the main hoard of goblins have broken through the barricades in the southern mountains already. The people of Culin’e’ai, specifically the local wizard order have an emergency plan but the goblins are attacking quicker and in greater numbers than they anticipated. Without you, Voidtreckers, they will fail.

Purple Team

The children of Culin’e’ai have been evacuated already. The elder of them have combat training but there are many younger ones who don’t. They are used to travelling through the mountain pass to a series of caves where they lay low until the threat has past. However the goblins have staged an ambush. You will be dropped off at the ambush point, protect the citizens and escort then southward towards the city of Um’i’les, a fortified citadel some days North from Culin’e’as.

Orange Team

The children were sent away as they often are during goblin attacks but there are other non combatants in the city, primarily elder people but also farmers, merchants and others whose jobs do not lend themselves to combat training. This goblin force is larger than before and the city will not hold long. The wizards have a plan but it requires the city to be emptied. Evacuate the people as quickly as possible and escort them to Um’i’les.

Red Team

Those citizens that can fight are heading out to fight the goblins face on and hold them in the southern mountain pass as long as possible to give those in the city the best chance of escape. Hold the pass with them and help keep the hoard back for as long as you can. Once the moment is right follow the fighters to Um’i’les.

Blue Team

The city of Culin’e’ai is on the banks of a large lake and on an island in that lake there is a wizard tower. The wizards there have designed a ritual to end the attack and wipe out the goblin threat once and for all. However the ritual will take some days to complete and during that they are vulnerable. Protect the wizards at all costs. Once the ritual is complete you can use your Safety Control Apparatus to be returned to the train and taken to Um’i’les to reunite with the other teams.

Additional Notes: Planet #25768 is low in technology and has not achieved Void travel yet. All precautions must be taken to ensure they remain unaware. To this aim the dressing carriage will be available for your use.

The mission will run from 13th - 26th September. Like in the practice mission I will put up a OOC information post with extra world information and team-relevant information on the 13th .

There will be a mission-start thread on the 13th, then I will put up a team threads a few days later for the ongoing missions. You will also be free to make your own posts in themiddleofsomewhere throughout the event. Nearer the end of the event there will be a post for the final challenges and the ritual (provided you are all successful!) and then a final thread for a celebration of hopefully successful mission.

Please feel free to use this as a plotting post. Remember there is nothing forcing your character to do the task assigned to their group so if you wish to do a different one, feel free! If character decide to not do any of the tasks at all that’s fine too, just let me know! Please reply under the colour you decide to go with once you decide for definite!

Maglor will be all over killing goblins! Just put a sword in his hand and stand back! XD Alternatively, he could sing a song over the natives to keep them unaware if that helps? He'd just rather be killing the goblins.

He's so good at killing, so, so good at it. Wade will be all in for beatin' up gerblins and defending the innocents and all that. Also he would love to have literally any weapon in which to do so.

Maybe the red team can organize themselves into pairs or trios so everyone has a backup. The elves, a borrowed Peter and Buttercup, and uh.. crap, he's paired with Deadpool. This is going to be a disaster!

He's going to defer to the elves for what they should wear to not freak out the locals.

So, Kaito's got skills in both breaking and entering and escaping l-lol none of which are particularly useful here. But he can keep a calm head in a crisis and be the guy who keeps spirits up, and... basically he'll be following Conan's lead, as little as he likes it.

Hattori will use whatever he can find that might resemble a sword to defend himself and the others with. Otherwise, he's fine being on 'get the vulnerable out of the way' mission!

Reigen has very little place in fantasy fight so yeah he's good with getting people out of there. He has some self-defense martial arts skills and the ability to be incredibly distracting if these goblins are smart enough to understand human speech.

Kary is used to fighting and defending and is not thrilled to just be defending, but his reserves in the Sapphire are deep and he will hold shields. Might need someone to bring him food though, because he will burn out his reserves over the course of days. Especially since he will spend most of that time OUTSIDE the shield patrolling.
