OOC Plotting and Discussion Post: Couples' Ball for Valentine's Week

Obviously, Valentine's Day is NOT coming up on the train, what with the void calendar being what it is. It is, however, coming up here, and with the month's event not being a particularly shippy one, I felt I'd like to throw something in for all the people playing couples this year. Specifically, I'd like Cassie to arrange for a dance/gathering/general get-together in the Games Car (or Music Car, or wherever there's room). Everyone is invited, but everyone who has a date to bring would be ESPECIALLY encouraged.

The in-character motivation for such an event would be simple: Cassie got herself a nice dress from the train store this month, and she'd like to be seen wearing it with her hot boyfriend on her arm. It would also be a good opportunity for couples to reconnect and unwind after the whole being-deaged thing.

I'm putting this up in OOC both to gauge interest and to take suggestions on how to arrange it. If the mods deem it possible, I'd like it if everyone who doesn't have appropriate evening wear could "rent" some fancier clothes from the train itself.

Seto doesn't get enough opportunities to enjoy time with Yugi, so he'd be up for this. (especially to thank him for dealing with his nine year old self for a day)

Mami is willing to cater, as usual! (and she's single, so if anyone around her age (15) wants to dance she'd like that).

Neither of my characters are dating anyone and neither of them are great with social events so I don't really know how I'd engage with this event, personally.

I'd be interested, though I don't know for sure if Glorfindel will be back from his hiatus or not. If he is, he and Curufin will definitely attend!

Edit: Due to real life events, I've had to declare a hiatus and so Curufin won't be back until past the middle of March. So he won't be present for this event. Too bad! He'll be sorry he missed it.

V will definitely be avoiding this event like the plague because he's pretty pretty broken up about how he treated his boyfriend in the end.

Prisoner would ask Renee if she would like to go and she would politely deny him, so he probably would not turn up because he's not exactly the best at conversation.

Even if I hadn't hiatused my lot, I don't have any ships in mind for them (or at least none where the potential other characters aren't also more likely to be asked by someone else, first), so I'll have to decline, thank you.

I vote yes since two of my characters are in ships or currently working on it (the courtship and romance of it). He'll gladly help out with the decorations and the catering. So I'm all for it!

Just need to figure out fancy clothes to wear!

I'm interested, but it depends if Rich can find someone to dance with orz. Maybe if there was an option to set singles up with a blind date? It could make for fun CR.

Could be good to do. This would probably require me to push it back to allow for time to set it up (assuming I'd need to get signups and a spreadsheet or some such thing).

Yeah, given the response, I think I'd like to push it back and tweak it some. Blind dates are a good idea, but some other stuff for people who don't want to do that either would also be good.

Silvia has no partner and no prospects but it's a yes from me. She wouldn't see why others couldn't go and enjoy themselves. Also if borrowing some attire is a thing, she would be all about that portion of it...

The answer is yes if a single scientist girl is allowed to watch the 'social experiment' take place and also maybe help supply tiny food.

Otherwise, both of mine are very taken with someone (Entrapta) or old and single and as much as I'd love to, difficult to ship (Yondu).
