Crisis On... An Aeroplane

The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.

Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.

Here you are the crew of a small aeroplane in desperate trouble and attempting to land, the wind is strong, your engines are straining and the visibility is near zero. Can your crew land safely?

Dressing up

The Voidtreckers have a new mission and the dressing carriage is open for their convenience...

The mission is taking them to a circus and the clothes sure reflect that. Clown costumes, glittery leotards, many feathers and an overabundance of sequins.

There is make up and facepaint provided as well, hopefully there are enough voidtreckers with expertise to make it look convincing.

Clowning Around

Strange happenings have been happening in Kilpi, a monster ridden land and joining a performing troupe is the best bet of protection outside of the small settlements. The voidtreckers are masquerading as one such troupe, in order to help out a small settlement that has seen a spate of killings. Voidtreckers must put on the show of their lives, investigate the killings and bring peace back to the town.

Team One

Setting up the stage for the performance is a good time for building bonds with the towns people. Everyone knows something, no matter how small and they are more likely to gossip with stage hands than talk to the town guard.

Gather information, set up a stage and get ready for the show.

Team Two

The killings always happen in the evening or at night, always when people are alone. So making sure people are not alone is the task of team two. The show is ready, it is big, it is loud and hopefully enough to draw in the whole town.

Eat fire, juggle, walk that tightrope. Music plays, sequins glitter. The show is a distraction and their task is to be the best distraction they can be.

Team Three

Whilst team two are distracting it is team threes chance to catch the killer. The streets are deserted, quiet and stealth is necessary to remain undetected.

Most people are at the show, but not everyone. Are they in danger? Or are they potential suspects.

{She is calm, she is good at strategy and she is accustomed to traumatic situations! You definitely want this little Yeul on your team. Plus she is really cute wearing the VR headset; it really is too big for her, though that won't stop her from doing her best.}

We are going to crash. {That's just the truth.} Brace yourself in a seat, control your breathing. The plane will take most of the damage.

{She stretches out her hands as if she is grabbing the seat before her. There. She is ready.}

{Dressing Up}

{This is...fun? She tries a variety of outfits before settling on a black and white dress and white face-paint. Her hair is pulled into pigtails and carefully brushed. Then she looks at herself in a full-length mirror.}

Why are we dressing like this? What am I?

{Wandering Train}

{After choosing her outfit, Yeul wanders the train, peeking into the compartments, familiarizing herself with her new...home? What about Noel? Every time she thinks about him, her chest aches and she doesn't feel like dancing.}

...hello. {Her soft, reserved demeanor makes it hard for her to meet people - or acquire help.} Can you - hear - ?

{Apparently not since said person walks right passed her. Oh well, she will try again.}

I would like some information, please?

Wandering Train

[V, while not the tallest person on the train, has plenty stature to spare -
And it's all too easy to take in Yeul's stance from it, and draw to a stop behind whoever just passed. M-Bot chirrups, curious.]

`Of course; what is it you need?`

[V's voice is higher and warmer than some might expect, though in some ways it is similar to that used for the train announcements.]

{If she is taken aback by V or M-Bot, she doesn't show it. Then again, Yeul doesn't show much emotion in general. In her clown attire, she feels very much...off. And far from the home she had made with Noel.}

I'm a new passenger. Are we often expected to dress like clowns?

{That question is probably the tip of the iceberg, yet she is the most curious about it. Currently. Strangely enough, the Void itself doesn't seem to bother her.}

[V shakes their head, as M-Bot jumps off their shoulder to get a closer look at Yeul and her outfit.]

`If we've any luck, it will only be for this... mission.`

[Missions are something V's used to, though these use very different parameters than their usual fare.

Not to mention different outfits.]

`But receiving clothing as part of the prep stage seems typical, from what I've been told.`

{She gives M-Bot a small look of curiosity before refocusing on V. The little bot is cute; how can she mind them?}

Missions. {Yeul tenses at that word.} Is there a greater purpose to these missions?

{Already her heart is dropping. Will the gods ever free her?}

[constantvrunning]

[M-Bot is quiet, for the most part - though he does receive a warning glare from V when he starts edging to land on Yeul's shoulder.]

`In the grand scheme of things, I'm afraid I don't know. The missions I'm used to are for salvage, and usually by commission.`

[Though there was the occasional rescue mission, when it wasn't just an IT trip...

All right, so the Ashen Ospreys were a bit of a JOAT group; sue them.]

`But given this one's given us the overall task of stopping a killer, I don't believe it isn't, at the least, serious.`

{She lifts a hand to welcome him instead of shooing him away. If he isn't too heavy Yeul doesn't mind.}

What did you salvage?

{Since she can't find the answers she seeks, she decides to learn more about him instead.}

Stopping a killer could alter timelines. Everyone has a time to live and a time to die. By stopping their tragic ends, you could cause greater calamity.

[constantvrunning]

[V shrugs - mentally aborting their warning-remark to M-Bot.

Fortunately he has hydraulics to make any shoulder-perching easier on his victim new friends.]

`Mostly machines, from the Radiant Era on our world. Things don't always turn out that simple, though.`

[V's demeanor, however, turns cold in an instant.]

`That is the justification used to allow the oppression and murder of uncountable populations, including my own homeland. While acting rashly to save people has its own consequences, and we should ask questions, this is not the same.`

[M-Bot does not jump, but he does beep lowly in concern, and confusion.]

{His weight is comforting and she reaches up to pat the bot on his head.}

Nothing is ever that simple.

{Yeul grows colder still and she stands her tallest, though that will forever be an unimpressive height.}

How do you know it isn't the same? What clues have you been given? Lies are easily told to soothe the consciences of those foolish enough to believe them.

[V's voice is curiously flat now.]

`Have you ever been one of the people dictating people's lives, then? Or their deaths? Believing it's all for the greater good?

`Because I have. And I never want to be again.`

[M-Bot also falls silent.]

I did not dictate; I only foresaw. {She answers calmly. Being the Seeress had been so difficult. Each life, she had died young - only to be reborn to start the process anew.}

If we make the wrong decision, I know what could happen. I have seen situations like it before.

[constantvrunning]

`I've met those tied to the mystical,`

[The mention of foresight detracts from their anger somewhat, but there's still undertones of it in their voice.]

`But even being some universe-conducting force doesn't give it a morality license. ... Though I suppose then it's not your fault, either.`

[The element of free choice gets a bit harder to determine when you go beyond the impact scale of empires.]

Are there...others? Seers?

{Serving the gods in her world is a lonely occupation. She has never met someone like her - and she thinks that's for the best.}

That is why the gods were killed. They lost their way and caused more harm than good.

[constantvrunning]

[V grimaces, but they now feel they have more room to recover from the conversation with good grace.

M-Bot makes a quiet trill.]

`I believe several 'visionaries' have been collected on this train - but none of them have reported on the source of visions encountered here, much less if there are gods of the void.`

{She turns her head slightly towards that trill, trying to understand what the little bot means.}

I am no longer bestowed with that power. I served a purpose for generations and now is my time to rest.

Wandering Train

[ Xichen is definitely on the tall side, but that in no way means he will fail to notice her, or ignore her. He cups his hands in salute. ]

Of course. There are many things that I still do not know, but I will help with what I can.

{She has to tip her head back to see him, but that is nothing new. He is about the same height as Caius.}

What is expected of us? {A decent question since she is currently dressed as an adorable clown.}

Train

[ Huaisang had noticed her getting passed by so when she asks him he is ready to hear her. He probably would have noticed anyway. He's observant in that way. ]

What information are you seeking?

{Yeul faces him directly and without hesitation, her expression solemn for someone so seemingly young.}

What is expected of me on this train? I will do what is required so that I may return home.

[ Ah...that is a question. He shakes his head. ]

I'm not sure there is anything specific that we can do to return home or many would have already left if they could.

{Her disappointment doesn't show, but it is felt.}

I'm not special. Why was I chosen? {The question is rhetorical. He too is a victim of the Void.}

Are you able to wield a weapon?

[ Huaisang actually does give her a look of a modicum of compassion. He couldn't say he knew why he was chosen either or why his brother was chosen to be sent away and Huaisang is still here... ]

Fighting isn't really my thing.

Then we must look after one another. {It makes sense to her and she gives him a small smile of comfort.} I am Yeul.
