Crisis On... An Aeroplane

The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.

Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.

Here you are the crew of a small aeroplane in desperate trouble and attempting to land, the wind is strong, your engines are straining and the visibility is near zero. Can your crew land safely?

Dressing up

The Voidtreckers have a new mission and the dressing carriage is open for their convenience...

The mission is taking them to a circus and the clothes sure reflect that. Clown costumes, glittery leotards, many feathers and an overabundance of sequins.

There is make up and facepaint provided as well, hopefully there are enough voidtreckers with expertise to make it look convincing.

Clowning Around

Strange happenings have been happening in Kilpi, a monster ridden land and joining a performing troupe is the best bet of protection outside of the small settlements. The voidtreckers are masquerading as one such troupe, in order to help out a small settlement that has seen a spate of killings. Voidtreckers must put on the show of their lives, investigate the killings and bring peace back to the town.

Team One

Setting up the stage for the performance is a good time for building bonds with the towns people. Everyone knows something, no matter how small and they are more likely to gossip with stage hands than talk to the town guard.

Gather information, set up a stage and get ready for the show.

Team Two

The killings always happen in the evening or at night, always when people are alone. So making sure people are not alone is the task of team two. The show is ready, it is big, it is loud and hopefully enough to draw in the whole town.

Eat fire, juggle, walk that tightrope. Music plays, sequins glitter. The show is a distraction and their task is to be the best distraction they can be.

Team Three

Whilst team two are distracting it is team threes chance to catch the killer. The streets are deserted, quiet and stealth is necessary to remain undetected.

Most people are at the show, but not everyone. Are they in danger? Or are they potential suspects.

"... There's a whole lot of stuff going on at home... that most people don't know about. I was surprised to know that I could summon her outside the Dark Hour." It's safe enough to tell people about that stuff here, right? "... It's the hour that happens when the clock hits midnight that most people aren't awake for. Only some people can be... people with the potential for Persona or who already have Persona."

Well. And Shadows. But those aren't people.

There's no need to meddle when someone just offers all the information like that. Thanatos isn't sure what to make of it. He only gets a long tale when someone is trying to convince him not to collect them. Did he somehow suggest that he is here to deal death?

"Things do not work as you expect on the train."

"I kind of figured. ... Some parts of this place are nicer than home, actually." As nice as the city is, he... never had money to experience a lot of nice things.

[controlsthedie]

He nods, though he feels like he can't really relate. Thanatos likes the quiet rooms, but that's because it's closer to home.

"Well, didn't mean to interrupt your training."

[miseris_socios]

"It's... fine. I was ending anyway... I don't like using magic on the dummies too much because I don't want to break them." He's just waiting to make sure all of the heat from the lightning strike is gone.

"... I'm Ken, by the way."

[controlsthedie]

Thanatos doesn't do much with the dummies. They aren't alive, so his powers don't work on them. Although, maybe he needs to practice using his scythe on them without the aid of flight... just in case his powers are stripped away from him again.

"I'm Thanatos," he says back.

Ken narrows his eyes and looks around before looking back at the other.

"... No you're not. Minato summons Thanatos and he doesn't look anything like you." Why would this guy lie to him about that?

[controlsthedie]

There are a number of things wrong with the statement Ken just gave, and Thanatos does not know which to address first.

"... I assure you, I am Thanatos."

He pauses and opens his mouth before shutting it. Tilting his head to the side, he seems to listen to something for a moment.

“... Okay. Well, you’re not a Persona... you feel kind of like a Shadow but Nemesis isn’t reacting to you the same way she does to Shadows.” This is confusing.

[controlsthedie]

"... What does my sister have to do with this?" Thanatos doesn't really cross paths with his sister, Nemesis, but he knows what she looks like.

"I - that's the name of my Persona. Nemesis." He gestures to where the creature just was.

[controlsthedie]

Well, that creature certainly wasn't his sister. She also didn't use the rail. "Your Personas are named after gods."

It has to be that, right?

To be fair, Nemesis uses a spear.

"... I don't know. I got told that people born with the Potential like me have... that they're parts of ourselves used to fight. I didn't name her, though. That's just the name she had when she appeared. There's... people who got Personas shoved into them, but I'm not one of them."

[controlsthedie]

A spear is still not a sword.

"Do you know many other Personas? I could tell you if they are all named after gods." Again, named after because that was not his sister, nor someone who seemed to be from Persephone's version of the world.

[miseris_socios]

"Um... Minato can also summon Samael, Chidori uses Medea, Jin uses Moros, and Koromaru uses Cerberus. I'm pretty sure Minami uses... Orpheus? I think she uses other ones, too. I got told that Sakaki uses Hypnos but fuck him." Hypnos or this Sakaki guy? Who knows.

"Kirijo uses..." He screws up his face trying to remember the name. "Penthesilea? I think that's how you pronounce it. Sanada uses Polydeuces. Takeba uses Io, Iori uses Hermes. The robot uses Palladion. I don't know what Yamagishi uses. And..."

He takes a few deep breaths, trying to steady himself. "And Aragaki u... uses... used... Castor..." The boy starts shaking slightly, and he wipes his face with the back of his sleeve.

[controlsthedie]

There are many things he could say, but all of them disappear when Ken starts to shake and... cry? Is that what he's doing?

"You don't need to say anything further. I didn't mean to upset you."

He knows what the "uses, used" implies. He's Death. It's hard not to miss it.

"... It's... mm. I was supposed to be the one who killed him. I was supposed to finish it. On... both ends." He glances up at Thanatos and then away again.

The meaning is probably pretty clear.

[controlsthedie]

Thanatos is at a complete loss on what to do. He doesn't know the situation or Ken, and he had been trying to avoid upsetting him more.... He seems to have only made it worse.

"I'm sorry," he says though he knows it isn't enough. "There are a lot of friendly people on this train. If you want to talk."

Should he find one?

"I don't need to talk to anyone about it." He spits it out a bit, watching Thanatos.

... "Are you... really... I mean, I read about stuff. Are you really, like... death? Like really death?"

[controlsthedie]

When emotionally stunted Death recognizes that Ken needs to talk to someone, that says a lot.

"I am Thanatos, Death Incarnate, though that means little on this train."

[miseris_socios]

No he doesn't he's fine!!!

"Okay." Ken keeps looking up at him, but then winds his arm back to go for a punch as high on the guy as he can.

[controlsthedie]

Ah. Now this is something he can handle. Thanatos lets him hit him.

It hurts, but he's too angry to care, instead grabbing the god's robes.

"Why did you let him kill her? Why did you take her away from me?" The false confidence is gone from his voice, his breath coming in gasps as he tries in vain to not cry.

[controlsthedie]

"I do not decide who dies, how, or when. I release their souls from their bodies and guide them to the Underworld." Either by bring them to the River Styx or to his brother.

"And if 'she' was killed, then I wouldn't have been the one to take her. I handle peaceful deaths."

[miseris_socios]

"You're death." It's something. It's something to be mad at, now that Shinjiro is dead. Probably dead. He's not totally sure.

"I don't... I don't know... I can't... I need her..."
