We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.

IC Month

This month is the month of Basoon. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is “The journey not the arrival matters.”

The challenge is: Any thread that reaches 15 comments (collectively) will earn you two points.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during October AC. Any threads from September or October can be used for this challenge. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

New team points have been updated on the passenger roster and the shop is here!

Recipes are here. The ingredients for these recipes are in the store room as well as basics (flour, pasta, noddles, rice, milk, eggs etc).

This months chore assignments are:

Purple: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Red: Meal Preparation
Orange: Laundry
Blue: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms

The Train.

As the month ticks over into the month of Bassoon the train will stop to pick up new passengers. When everyone rejoins the train they will notice they have another new carriage.

Carriage E has been added. It is a double carriage with stairs going up on either side.

As you enter the lower floor you will see there are no seats in this carriage. There are two tables, low enough that people can sit on the floor around them and large enough to fit about eight people around. There are cushions scattered around and even a few beanbags to sit on. There are wooden chests around the walls as well as a couple of shelving units. The chests and the shelves are full of games. All the board-games and card games you can think of from chess to hungry hippos. There are silly games and serious tactical games. (As a note any game based on a canon that might exist on the train won’t be here but a similar-but-different game can be. Likewise any game with place names will be similar in style and play but the names will not be any that any passenger will recognise.) There are a disproportional amount of train-themed board games, obviously.

Upstairs there are no seats and the carriage is split into two halves. One half has some large games, twister, giant snakes and ladders, lawn jenga, massive connect four and more large silly games that need a bit of extra space. The ICP in this carriage has the rules for all the games.

The second half is separated by a rope barrier. This area has four virtual reality headsets, and a variety of controllers. There is an ICP where they can be set up to play one of four games.

Knight Quest: A game that can either be played on single adventure mode or with the other three headsets in a campaign mode. It is a typical fantasy rpg about a young hero who is searching for a magical item to save the world. The story is simple but fun and engaging. The hero has a sword and shield and fighting in this game requires some physical skill, but practice makes perfect!

Space Racer: A multiplayer game where you race your friends on spacecraft through crazy galaxy type obstacle courses. Throwing alien fish at each other is not only permitted but encouraged.

Star rise over Gulati: A very serious alien fighting game, you fight in a small fighter craft and have to protect a planet called Gulati. It is very difficult, you need very quick reaction times and small mistakes or misfires can lead to the planets demise or your own craft’s destruction. Try not to rage quit.

Crisis on... This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.

Important Dates

This month event will be a world event running from the 13th- 26th September. An info and plotting post will go up on the 9th September.

Reserves will open 13th September and a test drive meme will go up the same day. Apps are between 20th and 27th September. AC will run 22nd to 29th September.

Other Information

One of the quiet coaches has been turned into Tony’s lab, it has a ‘keep out’ sign on it.

The dressing carriage is now full of spider webs and spider hammocks, it has a six foot high access corridor.

For the month... he's totally hitting up some of those flight and racing games, and welp. That certainly is cleaning duty. He grew up in a military academy. A good chunk of the people on his team are teens. This is going to go over well.

Plans: He's going to be avoiding potential mental crisis over being stuck on a train by...doing laundry, why not. He likely will be convinced this is some psychic illusion, might do some investigating.
CR wanted: All of it. Any ridiculous shenanigans are welcome to put this ratman into. I'm also up for genuine relationship building, Reigen needs friends.
Things to avoid: I'd prefer to steer clear of vomit and drug addiction, otherwise we good.

Plans: Tony has a long to-do list with his projects. He is also going to be relatively displeased there's another platform full of people. It's nothing personal, it's just that there's more people to protect and make the train crowded and, look, he can be grumpy about stuff. If you're a kid/ under twenty or someone particularly vulnerable, he might adopt you. Also, he's been the leader of the train (in his view) since the beginning so expect some of that.
CR wanted: I'm open to anything! Positive, negative, irritating, goofy, all for it.
Things to avoid: Nope, no lines. None. Except if one more person gets sick on or right next to him again, the first train casualty will be YOU!

Character: Heiji Hattori
About them: He is a seventeen year old Japanese high schooler who has gained some fame back home for being a really good detective. His best friend and biggest rival is Shinichi (aka Conan) who is also on board. His skin is darker than the other Japanese people on the train and he has an Osakan accent. Some of his honorifics are a little different because of this. Other than that, he's into baseball, kendo (martial arts), and having a good time.
Plans: It won't take long before he'll want to find something like a broom handle to make a bat out of so they can play in the gym. He'll also be down for the games and video games. Since Kaito is here, I'm betting pranks will be a thing.
CR wanted: All of them! Especially the kids/ teens on board. It'll be fun to be able to interact with them as another teen instead of a dad/ authority figure.
Things to avoid: Nothing here either.

About them: J.R.R. Tolkien's epic, The Silmarillion. An Elf of the First Age of Arda, which was an even more horrible and exciting time than the Third Age War of the Ring. Knew almost nothing but war in his adult years, until his death while pulling off a shenanigan that should never have been conceived (committing yet another Kinslaying while hoping to retrieve a Silmaril from the prince who had it and had no intentions of giving it up). But, Curufin has other skills and interests than war. He's an excellent carpenter, stone mason, forge master and gem cutter. And now from his CRAU history he has modern mechanical and electrical skills. He loves to create projects that require more than just his own efforts, and he is good at working within an organization. (Go, Team Orange!) He had plenty of experience working with others for mutual goals, both in his canon and his CRAU history.
Plans: No plans so far except he'd like to meet all his Orange teammates, his roommates, and anybody else who might be interested in an oddity such as an Elf.
