October Information and CR Meme
I hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is the month of Horseshoe. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "Friendship is the comfort of knowing that even if you feel alone, you aren’t."
This means: Any thread where you are meeting new CR earns you two team points! The thread must be with someone you have not written with before in game but assumed CR is alright (e.g if they are your roommate, or a castmate).
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during October AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!
Recipes are here. The key ingredient this month is teddy bear luncheon meat (both ham and beef types). All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month's chore assignments are:
Orange: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Blue: Meal Preparation
Purple: Laundry
Red: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
The Train.
As the month moves through the month of Horseshoe the train will stop to pick up new passengers.
When they return to the train they will notice some changes.
Coach L: Armoury
This room is a single carriage, there is a corridor running down the left hand side with three doors leading into the carriage itself.
Around the outer walls and making a solid back to back wall down what would usually be the centre aisle are tall lockers in all four team colours. They have a shelf at the top that can be folded down.
Each locker is open initially and to claim a locker passengers need only insert their ticket into a slot in the door, this registers the locker as theirs as their ticket will be needed to open and use that locker. There is an information plaque on the wall near each entrance explaining this. Each passenger can claim one locker.
This has been updated on the setting. Remember to let me know if your character does anything to alter the setting!

This month's event will run over the 9th and 10th October. A plotting post will go up on the 7th October
Reserves will open 19th October with a TDM going up on the 17th October. Apps are between 22nd October and 29th October. AC will run 23rd October to 30th October.

We have a spreadsheet to help with linking character names to names on rosters, as there are quite a few characters for whom this differs. This has been linked both on the Passenger Roster page and on the Sleeper Cabin page for ease of keeping track of who is who!

Kumoko/unnamed spider - So I'm a Spider, So What? - orange
About them: Cabin 1-D, Orange team. My classroom was destroyed by dimensional magic and so I reincarnated as a monster in the most dangerous labyrinth in the world??? What's happening! What's happening! Saint-level magic user trapped in the body of a spider the height of a grown man. She's evolved twice aboard the Express and now she's an Arachne. Canon is So I'm a Spider, So What? or Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?, she's from the end of volume three.
Aboard the Express she spends nearly all of her time in Dressing, lazing around, making clothing for people, or reading comic books.
Plans: Playing video games in the Dressing carriage. That's it. She has vocal cords now but her social anxiety is back and stronger than ever, so she's not good at talking with them.
CR wanted: People to stop her just playing video games all month. Someone to point out that she should probably Do Something with Black Squad, people who she can hug in a surge of emotion. Fellow mages or nerds to encourage her into talking. Want clothing? Come ask the monster girl!
Things to avoid: Reversed but as always she has a permissions post, so if you aren't a fan of spiders or spider descriptions, please let me know there! I can either avoid tagging you or just tone down descriptions/use less spidery icons.

Lightning - Final Fantasy XIII - red
About them: Cabin 1-A, Red team leader. From Final Fantasy XIII by way of Dissidia 012, Light's a ex-soldier, ex-magical slave who's now on her third unwilling heroic crusade in as many worlds. She's been here for eight months and she's so tired. Grumpy den mother of Red team let's be honest.
Plans: Red leadership is gonna be tough with Tony and Feanor both walking off the train this round, so she'll appreciate help. She's focusing on getting Red in shape, but if your character wants to help out, she's findable either in Medical, the Gym, or 1-A. Or Dining, during meals. She's still teaching in Fight Club, too, mostly magic and anti-magic combat.
CR wanted: I'd like to strengthen red team CR,and also just have some more friends for her. People to help her relax/unwind.
Things to avoid: Nothing I can think of!
Saku Gyousou - Twelve Kingdoms - red
About them: 4-D, Red team, though he rarely does Red missions. In a harsh, wintry land in the Twelve Kingdoms, a general put himself forth for selection to be king along with thousands of other citizens, and was chosen. A coup, an entire horror novel and seven years under a mountain later, he arrived on the train from his own execution. An immortal warrior known for having the aura of a hungry tiger, he's tempered by the kirin accompanying him most places. He's mostly chill on the train, preferring not to rock the boat lest it be construed as governing somewhere other than his own kingdom, which is punishable by the heavens.
His people grow on trees and finding out about sexual reproduction aboard the Express was a real Trip.
Plans: I'm really open for anything right now, he's not got anything planned so I'm happy to have him pulled into other plans.
CR wanted: He needs combat partners, allies, friends and peers. People to guide or advise, people to just be his fierce warrior-king self with. OOCly I need people to drag me into CR because I'm Bad At Engaging with him.

A-Qing - MDZS - blue
About them: 1-E, Blue team. A young (15ish) beggar maiden! Pretends to be blind, scams and steals, kind of a brat, knows more swear words than you, 4'6 and scrawny. She's from a supernatural detective arc in The Untamed/MoDaoZuShi where she mostly features as a helpful ghost, but she's from immediately before reaching Ghost status.
Aboard the train she mostly helps in the greenhouse, lurks in the cinema, or follows her close CR around pestering them.
Plans: Showers, clean clothes, three square meals a day, these are what becoming a well-adjusted teenager is made of. She's getting addicted to movies and really wants to try the video games, but she's now stuck, having pretended blindness for months, unsure if revealing she can see is a huge tactical error. Working through that problem will be a chunk of October. Meanwhile she's into tabletop gaming, and training with basics in Fight Club.
Xiao Xingchen just left but NOW HE'S BACK and so much sadder than before, she's gonna enlist close CR with helping her keep him safe.
CR wanted: Cute friends around her age! Found family! Awful feral friends. She hasn't pickpocketed anyone in a whole month and what's with that.
