Seeing that, her eyes soften even further, and she lets him lean, soaking up whatever kindness he needs.

"Well, perhaps not everyone." She sniffs, thinking of that guy. "But the majority of us... well. This is a very small space, you see. And people are from so many different places! It's easier if we try to get along, rather than the opposite. On a purely practical level, it means that we can help each other on missions. But more than that - why, it's a terrible thing, to live in a place where everyone is always fighting. Tis hard on the soul, that. And once you take the time to sit down and talk to someone, why, you might make a friend! And then it's easier all around."

She shakes her head with the wry exasperation of a mother who has seen far too much Stupid in her life. "People are people, no matter where you are. If you take the time to listen, I find more often than not, you'll have more things in common than not - if only my husband had paid more attention in his life!"

She nods. "Aye, they are. There are others, too, from their world. Or were! Folk come and go all the time, here."
