New Team Orange Survey
This is a sort of fusion of Tony's Passenger IC Questionnaire with Eva's and Curufin's Orange Team Survey. The request is that all current Orange Team members fill it out, both old and new members. Please answer these questions IC.

What age is considered 'adult' in your culture? Elves grow up more slowly than mortals, and it takes us about 50 years to reach late adolescence.

The telescope, and a lighthouse with a very powerful beam.
Is this train something new or are there trains like this in your world? One that goes through the Void? No steam trains in my world, and certainly no Void trains.
What is a common piece of technology you use regularly? The forge, in my world and the other two. Not on the train, though.

What is it based on? We do use what you'd think of as magic, but we don't call it that. We call it art. Our Elvish lineage gives us a certain amount of power over the physical world, and we use it in our arts and crafts, mainly. It's also sometimes used to project a convincing illusion. I myself have employed this gift in the past.
Common place or kept secret? Commonplace.
Are there gods worshiped or recognized where you are from? The Creator God, Eru Illuvátar, and a pantheon of fourteen powerful angelic spirits who are guardians of the world, called the Valar.
Are these gods beings of great power that one could meet or are they purely spiritual/ faith based? One could actually meet them in Aman, the continent I where I was born. It was rare to meet them in person in the other continent, Middle-earth.
Is there anything that could be provided to you to assist in your religious practices on board? No. I'm not very religious.

Same as what everybody else has. Clothes, coat, sleeping bag, writing materials. But I found my tool kit in there, too. My nine most useful tools plus a tenth one -- my flute!

My father Fëanor and my brother Maglor were already here when I arrived. My brother Maedhros and I arrived at the same time. My mother Nerdanel arrived a bit later. Maedhros and Maglor are now gone. Glorfindel of Gondolin and Rivendell is here now.
Has there been a war in your world recently? Were you involved in it? I fought in the Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Wars of Beleriand. After my death, when I was wandering as a disembodied spirit during the War of Wrath, I escorted groups of refugees over the mountains to safety.
Are there known threats to your city, country, world, galaxy, etc?
There was a terrible threat from a renegade Vala, Melkor, but he has been defeated and cast out of the world into the Void. His henchman, Sauron, has similarly been defeated and destroyed.
What was happening when you were taken from your time and woke up on the train platform? I wasn't taken from my world. After I left the second of the worlds I've lived in besides my own, I was hitchhiking through the Void in disembodied spirit form.
What were some of the recent big events that have occurred before you woke? It would take too long to tell all the events. But a war with killer robots was one of them.
If you had not been taken at that point in time, would you still be alive? Yes, if I wanted to be.
Skills
What are your particular skills and abilities? Professional, technical, crafts, magical, physical, martial arts or weapons skills, etc.? List them below:
(1) My crafts are as follows: Metalsmithing, gem-cutting, prospecting and mining, carpentry, stone masonry, architectural skills, and boat-building. Modern skills: mechanical and electrical engineering.
(2) I can also sail and navigate that ship after I've built it! I hardly ever get lost or sink the boat in a storm. Similarly, I have nav skills on land -- I think that's called geographic memory.
(3) Highly proficient with weapons -- sword, spear, bow. Also some modern weapons such as pistol, rifle, and shotgun. If we're fighting side by side, I promise I won't accidentally shoot you in the knee!
(4) I've been a battle commander and I can think tactically and strategically and prepare battle plans. (But don't hold me responsible for the Fourth Battle of Beleriand! I swear, that was not my fault!)
(5) Excellent horseman. But alas, my horsie left me for another! *sob*
(6) Skill with languages. The Noldor usually have this; it's a clan characteristic that we chatter in multiple languages. Though I won't subject you to any but this Common Speech the Voidtrecker translator gives us -- unless you're another Elf, and then prepare to faint from language confusion. Haha!
(7) Sensitivity to the thoughts, feelings, and motivations of others in the sense that all Elves are, and the Noldor in particular. The term used is sanwe-layta. An ability that is not identical with telepathy, but is somewhere in the ballpark. I can also communicate mind-to-mind at a distance, but not astronomical distances.
(8) A positively sorcerous ability to conjure a vision in the minds of others, using voice and language as the vector of this magic. The result is a hypnotic trance that may be lasting. (Finrod's people threw my ass out of Nargothrond for that type of mischief.)
(9) Foreknowledge -- I get intimations of the future, and sometimes vivid visions of it. This can be in dream or waking.
(10) I can play several instruments, harp, viol, flute, and acoustic or electric guitar. I can also sing, and I write songs, though I'm not the family Bard. That would be my brother Maglor. But I can entertain you on open mike night or at the karaoke bar, especially if I'm drunk enough.
(11) The Elvish body comes with certain perks: near-immortality, lack of susceptibility to physical illnesses, resistance to injury, and a tendency to heal rapidly when injury does occur. Thus, I can still fight when I'm spouting blood from multiple wounds, as my poor worried brothers could attest.
(12) Elves do not necessarily need to sleep. I can rest by dreaming with my eyes open. My roomies and those of you who have run into me in the Garden Coach in the middle of the night know this already. No, I'm not drunk or comatose, I'm dreaming!
How did you use these skills and abilities in your own world or other worlds before you came to the Voidtrecker Express?
Stars of Varda! Do I really want to answer my own question??? Fuck, no. I wasn't a nice guy in those days. The only things I'm really proud of were as follows. After we left Valinor, the Land of the Valar, the angelic spirits who were the earth's protectors, I used my crafts skills to help build a new civilization on a new continent. For more than four hundred years, I held the Pass of Aglon against our great enemy, Morgoth, the enemy of all Elves, Dwarves, and of the mortal race. Also, I taught my son Celebrimbor all my forging skills, and that helped him later when he made the Three Elven Rings, which saved the greater part of the Elvish people in the Second and Third Ages. I also contributed my fighting skills, firefighting skills, engineering skills, and building skills to projects and efforts in the two worlds I lived in that were not my own.
Do you have any skills you'd like to teach? Weapons and engineering.
Do you know first aid or have healing abilities? I have no real healing skills, but I do have battlefield first aid skills. I can also use my vision-casting ability and my musical skills to calm a person who is agitated, distressed, or in pain.

I'm Elvish, and all Elves have special abilities. My clan is the Noldor, and we're known for our craftsmanship. I myself am a forge master. But many of the Noldor also have some sorcerous skills. My people don't call it magic, they call it "art." Nor do they like the term "sorcery". . . but, um, in my case, that's kind of what it is?
Have you been on any Voidtrecker missions yet? Yes, seven.
If so, did you use your skills or abilities to further the goals of the mission? Yes.
How did you use them? Were you successful?
I used my fighting skills in all of them. In one, I used my firefighter skills. Also, my animal-herding skills, my clowning skills, my social skills, and my intellectual skills to try to solve the mysteries of those situations. As for success, I'd say this: #1 through #4, very successful. Likewise, #6 and #7. As for #5. . . well, I can't call that a success. I think we left those people to die.

Do you have ideas about how you'd like to contribute to missions in the future?
I'd like to keep fighting, as that's essential to me, and I'd like to continue doing tech repairs. I'd also like to do some kind of craft or construction work, whether that's making weapons before a mission or while on it, and the same for construction. I really can construct a building, or or dig a well or build a boat, or for that matter, build a generator.
Would you like to receive training in skills you don't currently possess? If so, which? These can be any skills whatsoever that you think might be useful to the the team or to missions.
I have engineering drawing skills, but I'm not all that proficient with color work. I'd love to learn how to paint a picture. That might be useful for some team project, though probably not for the missions. Unless we are sent to a planet that is going to hell unless it has enough artists to paint murals on all the walls? I used to read a lot, and use a computer a lot, so I could look up things or make plans for other people. I also have two 'powers' called Stands.
My first Stand is 'Burning Down the House'; if a place has been destroyed, and something was built over it, I'll be able to bring you to the destroyed rooms. Anything inside these ghost rooms at the time would become a ghost object- I can take those out, and carry them. I can also let other people use them, just like how they can go into the rooms.
The other Stand is 'Weather Report'. Weather can change the weather, but he can also make things more localized, like changing something in the air, or making something out of clouds. I think if I used wind properly, I could jump pretty far too.
Weather is humanoid too, so he can fight.

That happened before I was created, though. Other than that it's been mostly personal stuff. In school I did stuff like killing a wicked principal with my friends, getting my heart pulled out and turned into a monster temporarily, the usual kind of stuff that happens when you run with troublemakers. My life's been mostly more quiet lately, though I did win a prize for one of my dolls.

We have a ship that runs on oil, a paved road, steel manufacturing, cell phones, Earth-based GPS, sonar, antibiotics...it runs the gamut. Prior to the petrification it was a very high tech society, including things such as artificial intelligence and computers.

2- Geology/Botany: Provided the rocks, minerals and plants are the same or similar to Earth, I should be able to identify them, as well as identify resources for their usefulness, and plants for their medicine.This is particularly useful if you don't want to consume poison.
3- Chemistry: I know the chemical make up of almost anything at my level of technology, and how to get there, meaning I can take raw materials and turn them into something useful. The biggest process I undertook in this area was a six month project to make Sulfanomide, an antibiotic.
4- Cosmology: I have a very well studied knowledge of the stars, star charts, and the science behind a lot of space related phenomenon. I've also worked a lot in the realm of astrophysics as a kid, I've built three rockets that I've launched myself, the last one actually sending a signal from space before it exploded. I'd been working on my fourth when the petrification happened.
5- Mathematics: I can calculate difficult formluas in my head, such as things like trajectory. This skill comes in handy more often then you'd think.
6- Engineering: The bulk of what I do in my day to day is engineering. I take raw materials, with the help of others, and turn them into things. Without technology at all, I've gone from making stone tools, to making a car, a hot air balloon, a full sized ship, channeled electricity into lights and other applications, we started a mining operation for Iron to make steel, we made a paved road, we've also made stoves for the huts to keep them warm in winter...I know how to make a lot of things. I was on a mechanical engineering kick for a good half a year when I was a kid and I memorized how to make, well, everything almost. There's very little I don't know how to make, given the resources.
7- Medicine: In the last few years pre-petrification I spent a lot of time studying medicine. I can create a number of medications by knowing their chemical compounds and how to get there. I can also administer them, diagnose patients, give blood transfusions meaning I know how to start an IV, perform surgery and treat any manner of injuries. I've been essentially acting as a doctor in my world for the past three years or so. While I did several student internships around the world, including a fascinating study in Africa about Ebola, I did not go to medical school. I'm not nearly old enough. But I have had practical experience, and as far as the textbook knowledge any medical student would learn, I've learned that. If medical help is needed, I will likely know what to do and how to help provided it's within my realm of knowledge.
8- I have an eidetic memory, meaning all those things I've read, I memorized them.
9- I have no combat skills, prowess or stamina to speak of. I can make weapons, but I mostly can't use them. I'm not very strong.
10- Planning/Technical Design: I plan our projects, all of them, including whipping up the technical designs, or blueprints if that's more familiar to you. I break everything down piece by piece and create roadmaps to follow.

I think I just about covered it, as an overview, but essentially all I do is use those skills. I'm the chief of Ishigami Village, now with a population of about 150 and we have a satellite settlement on Treasure Island who are allied with us. Planning, executing technological projects, and being in charge are kind of what I do. During the day to day operations, I'm typically working on whatever project we're doing, directing others, explaining scientific concepts, fielding questions and sometimes dealing with village problems, although I tend to try and let Gen do those as much as possible. What was happening when you were taken from your time and woke up on the train platform? I was working with my colleagues Meghaniel and Alesha on increasing crop and livestock yields for the city of Mundus in preparation for a potential famine.

List them below: Mundanely, I am a 6th level Wizard specializing in evocation but with a sideline in counter-magic and creative uses of 'Spirit Sight' or the ability to synaesthetically visually perceive the 'aura' or magical properties and 'pneuma' or energy reserves of places, objects, and living things. Properly protected, I can unleash powerful long-range directed energy attacks in the form of kinetic energy bolts, flames, the redirection of thermal energy to either freeze or ignite foes, and electricity. I am also fairly knowledgeable about the capabilities of Mundane classes, which extends to both transferable strategic and operational logistics skill and the (often apocryphal or fragmentary) Mundane explanations for the underlying basis of Mundane Adventuring abilities.
