August Information and CR Meme!
I hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is the month of Grasshopper. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is "Find the journey's end in every step."
This means: Any thread that comes to a neat ending during the month of July or August will earn you two team points! Threads can have been started earlier but they need to be neatly wrapped/concluded in those two months.
Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during August AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!
Recipes are here. The key ingredient this month is carrots. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.
This month's chore assignments are:
Red: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
Orange: Meal Preparation
Blue: Laundry
Purple: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
The Train.
As the month moves through the month of Grasshopper the train will stop to pick up new passengers.
When they return to the train they will notice some changes.
Coach A: Quiet Coach
This carriage is a double carriage with a staircase at each end. Both floors have a corridor running down the left hand side. Each floor holds five booths with glass doors (ten altogether). The booths have two comfy benches facing each other. Each bench holds three people easily, or more in a squeeze! The booths lock from the inside and are completely sound-proofed. There is no ICP screen in this carriage and the only announcements to come through the speakers are those from the train driver.
Two of the booths on the bottom floor have been merged together in some horrible demolition work. Inside there are shelves and the table is moved so it is a work space. There are curtains across the glass and a lock on the door.
Coach D: Medical
This carriage is a double carriage At the back of the carriage there is a staircase but at the front there is a lift connecting the two floors. Both floors have a corridor running down the left hand side and on the right there are three compartments.
On the bottom floor two compartments have doors with windows. These are examination room. A simple bed, a chair, scales, simple medical equipment such as a blood pressure monitor and stethoscope. Inside a cupboard there is a medical kit more advanced than those in the corridors of the train. There are also basic medications- painkillers and anti-histamines. There are also a couple of epinephrine autoinjectors (epipens but not branded as such, obviously). The ICP in these compartments have information about a range of illnesses and their treatments.
The third is a surgical bay. Though the equipment is basic it is enough that wounds can be sewn and minor procedures undertaken. The ICP in this room has instructions for more complicated medical procedures but also carries warnings that advanced medical training is advised and surgery should only be carried out by senior medics.
Upstairs there are four compartments. Each has a glass window and door, though there is a curtain to pull across for privacy. These are recovery room each with a medical bed and an accessible toilet/shower. On the ICP in each of these rooms it is possible to register a passenger as recovering here, if so they will not return to their own bed each morning but remain in the recovery bed. However that passengers ticket will not allow them out of the recovery bay until they are ‘discharged’ and only one passenger can be registered there at any one time.
All of this has been updated on the setting. Remember to let me know if your character does anything to alter the setting!
Important Dates
This month event will run from the 15th to the 20th August. This event will have an opt-in element to it- plotting and sign ups will be posted on the 2nd August.
Reserves will open 18th August with a TDM going up on the 17th August. Apps are between 22nd August and 29th August. AC will run 23rd August to 30th August.
Other Info
The passenger roster has been updated with point counts for the month. Lunch boxes have been added as a souvenir option on the train shop.
I have added a piece about looking into the void and what might happen on the gameplay page.
A reminder that if anyone is doing anything crazy that they think may have consequences please let us know on the character shenanigans page!

Character: Senku Ishigami
About them: Senku is from the manga/anime Dr. Stone. When he was 16, humanity was petrified and turned into stone statues for just over 3700 years. During that time period, Senku remained mentally functional, partitioning his brain to not only keep count of the exact number of seconds they'd been petrified - thereby giving him the date when he emerged - but also he used the time to plan. He proceeded to spend six months surviving in the wilderness alone before the story really kicks off. Presently he's about physically 19, despite the fact his actual age is north of 3738. He's a brilliant, exceptional mind who's obsessed with every aspect of science. He's an expert in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, geology and engineering, and probably a few more fields in the hard sciences, including a fairly good grasp of medicine. He's at least bilingual and his backup plan for being unable to build his own rocket to launch himself into space was to become an astronaut for JAXA.
He's blunt and not very talkative when it comes to small talk and chatter. He finds metaphors exhausting. He is however a patient person when it comes to explaining things people don't understand and mysteries are his passion projects.
Plans: I dropped the ball in his first month, so I don't have any plans at present. He should get to know his roommates, and as many people as I can find who want to talk with someone who's not going to pull punches on what he thinks.
ICly - he's likely not that aware he should be doing chores, and therefore they are not on his radar. He's admittedly enjoying the modern conveniences for a change, he's been without them for years now.
CR wanted: I'm good with anything. Negative CR because he can't stop running his mouth? Absolutely fine. He has a tendency to rub people the wrong way at times in his canon. He would really like an opportunity to nerd out about science because he's been surrounded by people who can't keep up with him for a long time.
Things to avoid: Nothing, bring it on. He finds emotional situations uncomfortable, but that doesn't mean he hasn't dealt with them.
