OOC Information August & CR meme!
We hope everyone had a fun month! Some information for your ongoing journey.
IC Month
This month is the month of Apple. Days can be found here.
The thought of the month is still “A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.”
and the challenge is to make new CR! Every thread in July and August where your character is meeting someone new will earn you two Team Points. It might be worth having a tracking post throughout the two months. Threads for this challenge can be submitted in August’s AC.
Recipes are here. The ingredients for these recipes are in the store room as well as basics (flour, pasta, noddles, rice, milk, eggs etc).
This months chore assignments are still:
Purple: Meal Preparation
Red: Laundry
Orange: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms
Blue: Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas
The Train.
On day sixteen the train will stop at a station to pick up some new arrivals! When everyone rejoins the train they will notice some changes.
~ The shop has been updated. It can be found here. New point totals have been added to the Passenger Roster so you know how much your character has to spend!
~ Those looking on the training section of the ICP will notice a ‘First Aid’ training module. This is split into sections like the other training, so progress can be saved. It takes you through all the basic first aid knowledge such as the recovery position, CPR, how to stop bleeding and how to deal with burns. It is presented with a mix of text and video, using drawn silhouette figures to demonstrate the various techniques.
~ There is a second sleeper cabin next to the first, to accommodate all the new arrivals.
~ Carriage D has been added. On first glance it looks similar to the quiet coach, a corridor and three compartments to one side. Closer inspection will reveal that this is a medical carriage.
One compartment has a door with a window. Inside is an examination room. A simple bed, a chair, scales, simple medical equipment such as a blood pressure monitor and stethoscope. Inside a cupboard there is a medical kit more advanced than those in the corridors of the train. There are also basic medications- painkillers and anti-histamines. There are also a couple of epinephrine autoinjectors (epipens but not branded as such, obviously).
The second compartment has a glass window and door, though there is a curtain to pull across for privacy. This is a recovery room, it has a medical bed and an accessible toilet/shower. On the ICP in this room it is possible to register a passenger as recovering here, if so they will not return to their own bed each morning but remain in this one. However that passengers ticket will not allow them out of the recovery bay until they are ‘discharged’ and only one passenger can be registered there at any one time.
The third is a surgical bay. Though the equipment is basic it is enough that wounds can be sewn and minor procedures undertaken. The ICP in this room has instructions for more complicated medical procedures but also carries warnings that advanced medical training is advised and surgery should only be carried out by senior medics.
~ Any one who wanders into the Dressing carriage will discover that it no longer smells faintly of lavender, instead it smells quite strongly of jasmine.
All of this has been updated on the settings page!
Important Dates
This month event will be a train event on the 16th and 17th August.
TDM will go up on the 13th August. Reserves will open 14th August. Apps are between 21st August and 28th August. AC will run 23rd August to 30th August
Other Info
Everyone did well picking flowers and after Tony got a lesson in potion making it will turn out there will be enough flowers for 30 healing potions and 15 poultices that will draw poison out of a wound.
A question was asked about characters with quick/super metabolism and how these potions might affect them, I am leaving that up to you as players. You can choose whether they heal them completely or aren’t as effective.

Contact info:
Character: Maglor
About them: Tolkien! He's an elf who glows...kind of...and desperately needs a meal or fifty because he's started to forget to feed himself. He has a LOT of guilt and grief and will do his very best to pretend everything is Just Fine. He also is one of the two elves who raised Elrond, who ended up growing up to do great things and helping some hobbits get a silly ring to a volcano. Oh and he is a pretty good singer and will have a small harp with him.
Plans: Getting people to feed him? Trying to figure out how to respond to his dad being around?
CR wanted: EVERYTHING
Things to avoid: uh....battles and such should be discussed ahead of time?
