Crisis On… A Ship!

The train has a game carriage and the VR video games are always popular. A good way to relive boredom as well as teaching some good skills.

Crisis on...This game can be played with two to four players. It is essentially a crisis simulator mixed with an escape room. You can chose the scenario (the bridge of a space ship, a camp in a jungle, a high rise building, a sailing ship etc) and you are thrown into the middle of a crisis of some kind. Teamwork and a cool head are important as is using the surroundings wisely.

Ahoy there! You and your small crew are on board a sailing ship in the middle of an ocean. But you are being chased by an enemy ship and there’s a storm brewing! There are many roles for you to chose from and different puzzles and problems to be solved. Batten down the hatches, flee the enemy ships and if necessary man the canons! Bring yourselves and your crew to harbour safely.

Dressing up

The upcoming mission is one in space and the void treckers have been told to blend in. The dressing room has been opened and what awaits them looks like it walked out of a old science fiction film. Shoulder pads, metalic colours. Everything over the top, ridiculous and not practical at all.

Yet the mission brief said to fit in. So swallow your pride and try and find outfits that aren’t too ridiculous. Or go all out and make the most of it, it’s not every day you can wear elaborate outfits after all.

Space Battle

As perhaps the outfits had suggested this world is an odd one, the outfits given to the voidtreckers make them some of the most subtle dressed people in the space city. Big, bold and loud. But the crisis is clear, an enemy force attacking this city filled with non combatants and children.

Team One

Space fighting time! The space ships are designed for two so voidtreckers will need a partner. There’s not much time to train so it will be mostly learning on the job, but it’s fine. The voidtreckers job is mostly to make up numbers, to split the enemy’s focus whilst those that know how to pilot go in to defeat the enemy.

Team Two

The problem with space battles is, there are a lot of injuries and a lot of damaged space ships. The space city is not one that has a large military so damaged ships need to be fixed as quickly as possible.

Help out the engineers. It might be the voidtreckers know a little about repairing ships themselves but even if they don’t, extra pairs of hands are always useful.

Team Three

This city is loud, bustling and full of life. But with the battle raging outside everyone needs to stay safe. Help people get to shelters. Clear the streets and begin the evacuation, though hopefully a full evacuation won’t be needed.

Space Disco

Enemies vanquished, this city does what it apparantly does best. That is, party. The music is way too loud, different songs out of each building, people dance in the streets, lights flash far too fast. There is strange street food to try, new dances to learn and a victory to celebrate.

[ "Magic", not Arts? If Ifrit were, well, less Ifrit, she would file that nugget away, but as it is it's almost immediately discarded. Terminology aside, it's obvious what he means, and that's what matters. ]

M-Maybe, but I've fully mastered my control. [ that's an obvious lie ] That was just a little--

Well it doesn't matter, it's fine now! "No big deal," yeah!

Uh-huh, definitely.

[Well, she sure was cute trying to lie like that. Reno could have fun flustering this one up good, but he was nodding sympathetically for the moment, in total agreement. If she were a little observant, she might notice he was actually really just humoring her.]

Yeah! Who cares about a little scorch or two? That's the price for power! [Or something like that. Reno was just talking out of his ass. Whether he had a goal or not... was another story.]

Silence always says that you need control, but I've got control and power! That's what makes Ifrit so great. [ She says "Silence" like a name, not a noun, and with a fair lot of respect packed into saying it too. Somebody she looks up to.

On the plus side, talking about how great she is? Great way to distract her from feeling down or awkward. She loves talking up herself. ]

[He might have steered the conversation in a different direction were it not for the fact that he got distracted by that name drop. Little did he realize she was just talking in third person...]

Ifrit? Like the summon Ifrit?

The what now? [ "Summon?" What was that supposed to mean? ] No, like the me Ifrit. I wasn't summoned anywhere.

Well, except maybe to the train. I guess? But then we're all "summon." [ "Summoned?" Whatever. ]

What a strange name to give a dainty girl.

[Not that he didn't think she could, maybe, hold her own in a fight but, well, she was still pretty and small. Hence dainty. But the name did seem strange to him. He supposed with her horns and fire power that she kinda did resemble the big fire elemental though.]

Ifrit is the name of a summon. One of the big, special monsters you can call to battle if you have a materia with their...essence, or whatever, in it. He's a big fire demon. Funny, you sharing his name like that.

[ Fire demon, huh? Nobody's said that to her face in a long time.

She could show this guy who the real fire demon is. The voice in her head reminds her that she could burn him to cinders. She pushes it down. Control. ]

Well I'm not a demon. [ No matter what anybody says. ] I'm a Sarkaz.

But I am one of Rhodes Island's best operators, so if the Ifrit you know is impressive then I'll take it as a compliment.

It's impressive, all right. Summons are powerful creatures in my world. Ifrit's fire can be a scary sight on the battlefield, yo.

[He definitely meant that. The only thing scarier than Ifrit going on a rampage was staring down a dangerously calm Bahamut looming up in the sky. Anyone in their right mind would be scared of the King of Dragons.]

What's a Sarkaz? And... what do you operate?

Sarkaz, you know, like.... my race. Horns and tail like a... [ Demon.

But it's her race, she's not an actual demon. Though that's what people call Sarkaz when their backs are turned... not something Ifrit's dealt with too often, truthfully - the one upside to being raised in al ab instead of a society. ]

Anyway! [ Not a subject change, just answering his other question! ] Mostly I fight on the battlefield. Help out in rescue operations, extractions, fighting off Reunion, that sort of thing.

I'm one of the best, if not the best.

Dragon?

[He supplied helpfully despite the obvious route. The Ifrit summon of his world was clearly a demon and she kinda resembled a feminine, cute version of him a bit...but it didn't take a genius to read her hesitation to say the word. He started to grin at her but then she caught him off guard with the word 'Reunion'. He took a gulp and refrained from further joking.]

Reunion, huh? Sounds familiar... [Almost muttered to himself but it was loud enough to hear clearly. He shook his head clear.] Guess that's kinda like a special operations team of some sort then. We got a few organizations like that back in my world, too. We're pretty badass at it, too, ya know.

[ Dragon traits would make somebody a Drake or a Lung.... or maybe a Vouivre, like Saria. What kind of Ancient was this guy to not even know that?

Then again, he apparently didn't know what a Sarkaz was. She shouldn't expect too much from him. ]

Yeah, Rhodes Island is technically where they're treating my Infection. But Silence says I can use my powers to help people while I'm there, so I do. [ "Silence says" is the operative phrase there, she listens to Silence. ]

Are you an Operator somewhere too?

[Just don't call him an Ancient to his face and there wouldn't be any laughing at her expense. He is so not a Cetra.]

Yeah, I'm a Turk. We do some of the...harder work for the company. 'S why the mission earlier wasn't so big a deal to me, yo. Kinda par for the course.

[ And now we're back to why Ifrit was mopey in the first place. The mission, yes. Right.

Her expression betrays her feelings. ]

You did a good job out there, huh? Get to fly one of those... things around?

[Oops. He totally did get to fly 'one of those things' and was quite proud of it. He grinned.]

Yeah, it wasn't all that different from shit back home. [It totally was. It was a miracle he didn't get himself and his shooter killed.] It was awesome!

What about you?

I, uh.... helped people evacuate, I guess. [ THERE. She said it. ] It was dumb, I couldn't even do anything. [ Well, anything she's good at. Burning people to cinders, you know. ]

Eh, some people couldn't save their own skin if they tried. Good for them to have someone strong to help them out. [Not that Reno didn't blame her for being upset she didn't get to be apart of the more aggressive action. But he liked her and besides it was the truth. Sometimes you just had to grab the nearest person and throw them out of harm's way.]
