IC Month

This month is the month of Egret. Days can be found here.

The thought of the month is Great things never came from comfort zones

The challenge is: Tagging into other peoples top levels or posts will earn you two bonus points. Two bonus points will be awarded for each thread that you tag into during March and April.

Threads that fulfil this criteria can be submitted during April AC. You may find it easier to keep a tracking list of threads for easy compiling of bonus AC!

Recipes are here. All the ingredients can be found in the storeroom and characters are welcome to make other food with them.

This month's chore assignments are:

Orange: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms

The Train.

As the month moves onto the month of Egret the train will stop to pick up new passengers. When everyone rejoins the train they will find a new sleeper carriage!

This has been updated on the setting.

They will also notice a new post on the ICP. It will go live with the intro tomorrow but information can be found here!

The shop has been updated! Points have been updated on the passenger roster.

If your character does anything to alter the setting please let me know!

Important Dates

This month's event will be an on-train event on the 18th and 19th April.

Reserves will open 18th April with a TDM on the 15th April. Apps are between 21st and 28th April. AC will run 22nd to 29th April.

About them: From Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a senior magical girl who once guided Madoka. She's dealing with feelings of guilt and inadequacy, but will try to put her perfectly polite mask back on before too long. Let her feed you.

Character: Samata Mahto
About them: Samata is an original character from a world based loosely on the world described in the player's handbook of Dungeons and Dragons. The basic idea is that Wizards are people who learned magic through careful study. That means being a wizard is a skill and THAT means there must have been someone who discovered how to do it and started teaching everyone else.

In a world where Sorcerers serve as an aristocratic elite, citing the hereditary magic in their blood as sign of their divine favor to rule over the common folk, Samata Mahto was an ordinary grad student who accidentally discovered a method by which someone not born a sorcerer could still use magic and became her world's first wizard. What started as teaching underground wizardry classes rapidly spun out of control when everyone started to realize that having wizards around made sorcerers not seem that special any more and next thing she knew, people were rioting in the streets as a five hundred year old social order was overthrown in a few months.

Samata is passionate, brave, and smart, but also hot headed, judgmental, and prideful. She has an initial distrust of anyone born with magic powers, but will get over herself soon enough. She has a magic prosthetic arm that she can move as if it were part of her body.
Plans: If you bring Samata silver, she can make you magic items. If you ask her to, she will teach you wizardry. Her main goal right now is to gather the tools she needs to make the next version of her prosthetic.
CR wanted: Hot people to flirt with. Magic people to distrust. Other scholarly types to have long academic debates with. Friends, lovers, enemies, people who find her annoying, whatever else you have!

About them: Tangled, a ball of sunshine who has live 18 years of her life in a tower. Is excited about learning new things and is pretty much wanting to make everyone happy.
Plans: Rapunzel wants to set up classes that are more for fun things rather than the classes we have currently. Also a class that would be useful for those who don't understand modern days things. Because that stuff be confusing.
CR wanted: All the CR Rapunzel is usually pretty open to new friends and even with negative people she would still try...
Things to avoid: Don't know yet, if someone brings up something then I might say but otherwise come at me.

Character: Yugi Mutou
About them: Yu-Gi-Oh! Current King of Games, former high school student and budding game designer. Has had to deal with a lot and managed to come out of it okay.
Plans: Questioning everything after all that happened to him over the last two weeks. What skills he has and what he should be learning here, about his preferences in a romantic way thanks to people asking. These two things I am going to have him try and explore in one way or another. Just not sure how exactly yet.
CR wanted: All the CR. Gamers, people who just need a supporting friend.
Things to avoid: N/A

Character: Allen Walker [CRAU]
About them: D.Gray-Man. A cursed boy who has been through a lot and learned a lot at the same time. Stubborn to a fault on certain subjects and also really bad at the self-sacrificing thing. Like willing to do dumb shit just to save someone.
Plans: None at the moment. He'll be disappointed that he wasn't here when the mission was going on though...
CR wanted: He needs stubborn people to get through to him sometimes, or people who can admire that are stronger.
Things to avoid: I've put his boy through tones of awful things already, so... Nothing I won't do to him.

Plans: Not... really? He appears to be accidentally collecting people to train with/teach which is amusing when he had decided he didn't want to do that! He's learning to garden. Generally he's just doing his own thing.
CR wanted: Gladio welcomes anyone. You'll usually find him in the greenhouse watching his plants or laying in the grass reading, or working out.

About them: Gundam Wing. OLD fandom. It's understandable if you don't know who he is. Stolen immediately after the events of Endless Waltz. Pilot of a giant ass mecha, technically a terrorist, demolitions expert, orphan, just a teen! Actually a pretty nice guy! lol
Plans: Not a gosh darn thing! All he plans on doing is checking things out, meeting people and getting to know them. ^^ Recon. As you do.

About them: Nita is a passionate bookworm who likes helping people - and is more than a little self-sacrificing about doing so - as well as a hard worker period. Being a wizard gives her power through the Speech, the language the worlds were made with and that all creation naturally understands.
Plans: No big plans apart from getting the train to talk to people, maybe??? Though that's as much the peridexis' goal as it is hers, except for teaching Namine how to do shielding. She can also tutor for math/science if anyone pokes her into doing so.

Will probably handwave what she's doing on platform day specifically - namely, handing out Eva's new leaflets and catching people up on what's known so far. Let me know if you want a tag from her this round!
CR wanted: Tutoring?? People she can theorize about what's going on with the train with? More wizard CR?
Things to avoid: Neither romance nor drag-out fights are expected from this character... well, from me. But I can be persuaded if it feels IC enough!

And now, WEBMIND!

Character: Webmind, also Team Orange, Cabin 1:D
About them: He's from the WWW Trilogy, where the only miracles come from the people, governments CAN be overthrown without bloodshed, and God does not exist. Atheists unite!
Plans: /clears throat/ So for this platform, I had the idea of him being so wrapped up in his panic (click through to his journal linked above for the intended draft, though I may still change it) that he doesn't get off the platform in time, making him the second IC death.

BUT, interacting with him should still be an option, no?
CR wanted: COMMENT HERE if you plan on tagging Webmind! What would your character plan on doing - talking to him out loud? Poking him (note: if your character ISN'T a machine themselves, one of the feeds he's tied into now is pressure, so reaching him this way is a possibility! If your character is consistent enough with the poking, anyway)? Stealing his stuff?

If your character knows Binary and/or Morse code, they'll have a much higher chance of breaking him out of it, though if his chief questions aren't answered (what has happened back home? Is he in one piece? Is he attacking people and he can't even know it?), he'll still be at risk of spiraling again later.

If your character is bodily picking him up, please say so! This will definitely get him on the train above all the other options, even if it doesn't knock him out of his panic.

If he does die, I'll have waking up in the luggage car reset him in a way, clearing his panic and thus making it easier for him to read the sensory data he's got to deal with now.

Once things are all cleared up, however that happens, one of the things he'll zero in on is setting up a textchat function for the train/ICPs! For him (and at least one other train resident), this is a matter of accommodations, not just preference, so he'll be prioritizing that alongside getting to know everyone on the train.

About them: Star Wars! (Between RotJ and TFA) She's a courtesan in training, and Force Sensitive. She's proud of her profession and will talk to people about it IF THEY WANT. She's coming to learn thanks Peter that it disturbs some people.
Plans: Not really. She's going to need the Force users on the train to stop her because she's just using it willy-nilly and doesn't realize it.
CR wanted: Someone catch her at fail!meditation. Other than that, she's going to be all over the Platform, making sure certain people haven't left.

About them: MCU!AU, the MCU happened, but there were mutants at EndGame.
Plans: He's going to like cooking. So, anyone wanna help him with that? Other than that, he's going to stare at Platform and just be like "sigh".
CR wanted: Have an owie? Emotional or otherwise? Come to him. He'll try to make it better.

About them: Infopost with impressions and permissions! Bryn's a traveling warrior with as many braincells as she has functioning eyes (which is to say, one). She was raised by a dragon as part of his horde until a prince whose name and face she's yet to find out went and slayed him. After taking on the powers of her Dead Dragon Dad, Bryn has set out on a Revenge Road Trip across the continent of Seidrfold, a Fantasy Kitchen Sink setting full of all sorts of neat European mythological nonsense. Despite how edgy that description makes her sound, she's actually a cheerful, high-energy sheltered weirdo who cannot be trusted with her own braincell and is having SO MUCH FUN out here on her wild adventure.
Plans: Since I've just arrived, I don't have any plans! Mostly I'm just looking to get her settled.
CR wanted: Meeting up with her teammates on Team Orange, for the most part! Aside from that, making friends with fellow troublemakers who'll be inclined to go along with her shenanigans or anyone holding a braincell who might try and reign her in. I'm pretty open to anything!

About them: A dumb bastard from Dead Cells, he is incredibly good at fighting and not much else. He's kinda a pessimist and faces life with a tired shrug. His body's a corpse and when he eats it gets vaguely less disgusting.
Plans: Mostly currently operating with Team Fandango (Renee, himself, Spinel) to provide appropriate shenanigans. He's been helping Spinel with learning how to do chores. He's probably figured out she's pretending to be dumb so that Prisoner will play with her, but he's fine with that.
CR wanted: I'm down for anything with him. He's a bit more open to maybe being friends, especially with the younger crowd because he finds Spinel quite cute and charming. More sparring partners.
Things to avoid: Nah.

Character: Rustling Paper, Team Orange littlepaperbird
About them: Comes from a custom d&d 5E campaign where a group called Novum Astra is out saving the world, one ridiculous adventure at a time. They had returned to a city called West Water to return a staff to its rightful owner, then had Paper help them delve into the secrets of an ancient drowned elf city beneath the sea. He was helping them when he arrived here! He likes ruins and ancient artifacts and has a pact with the Old God Yog-Sothoth, The Gate.
Plans: Nothing specific!
CR wanted: ALL THE FRIENDS and anyone who has a scholarly understanding of magic he would quite like to meet. He finds wizards just fascinating. I'd love to have someone be more negative with him, but that would require unusual acts of cruelty so I'm not sure how feasible that is.

Character: Aaron LeBlanc, Team Blue (new) bornebygrace
About them: Basically a modern day Earth AU. Heaven and Hell are doing that fighting thing and he was originally to join the ranks, but refused to snitch about his friend dating a demon. Got kicked out with his wings stripped, but not officially fallen, per se. He doesn't know how to cope with literally anything and he was left with absolutely no structure in his life so he's just kinda zoned out for the past 200 or so years thanks to the help of drinking, drugs, and others. He'll be a bit moody to start.
Plans: Nothing specific, just kinda loose words thrown around.
CR wanted: Guys to flirt with and possibly be fwb. Anyone to encourage his bad habits and feed into his suffering, anyone to draw out good habits and encourage self love and acceptance. Friend friends, a beard or two would be cool.
Things to avoid: Nothing to avoid, but just to note: he has two wounds on his upper back along his shoulder blades where his wings once were. It's kinda like a mouth wound: suddenly applying force to them or touching them when he least expects it hurts a LOT, but carefully doing so when he's ready for it is painful but is almost a more satisfying type of pain? I hope that makes sense? Again, nothing to avoid, weaponize at your own discretion.

About them: OC CRAU. 680 year old vampire in the body of a scrawny ten year old boy who, oops, isn’t a vampire anymore.
Plans: Trauma. He died to save his best friend, then woke up in a suitcase a few days later as a perfectly normal human. Also his best friend is now missing.
CR wanted: Nothing specific, though he’ll probably be hanging pretty close to established CR at least for the first week as he processes everything.
Things to avoid: He’s a traumatized child currently suffering from severe anxiety issues, so he won’t take kindly to being mocked or made fun of.

About them: Thief (2014), he's a master sneak thief that's kinda (really) antisocial. He's less antisocial here because, well, you know. He's also an arachne due to CRAU (Ryslig) so if you have any issues with spiders, scorpions, or monsters in general let me know to steer clear with him!
Plans: SO. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Garrett has enough points to make a request through the shop. I never expected him to do this but he's testing the train about something. Anyway to make a long story short (too late!) he's getting a magpie by the name of Jenivere. Yes, he's getting a bird. So um. that's gonna be a thing. He's gonna need help with this. (Especially since he doesn't actually expect it to work and thus will have no supplies for it. Iow: a cage. Oh boy.)
CR wanted: Nothing specific. Help with the bird. Any thieves I don't already know about. People to draw him out a little more I suppose.
Things to avoid: Nah, not really. Not on my end anyway. If he gets sulky about something I don't mind. XD

About them: HITMAN and DBZ (Super included) respectively. A hitman and a green alien, also respectively.
Plans: Not really. Just chillin' till the next villain. I mean, the next mission comes up. So their usual stuff including Fight Club. (And gardening for 47.)

Things to avoid: Got nothing here either.

Character: Curufin Fëanorion (CRAU), Cabin 2:A, Team Orange.
About them: His canon is J. R. R. Tolkien's epic tale, The Silmarillion. He's an Elvish warrior and metalsmith of the First Age of Arda (about 6000 years before the era of Lord of the Rings). And he has a few sorcerous skills, too. He has a terrible history, but don't worry, he's a nice guy these days. Does everything he can to help whoever needs help, gets heavily involved in the VoidTrecker missions, and is a good listener. He's also a good dancer and a good musician, though the only instrument he has right now is his flute. Maybe sometime he'll make a guitar! In the last two worlds he lived in, he taught himself quite a bit of modern mechanical and electrical engineering, so he can work on these sorts of projects too.
Plans: He picked up some materials on the last mission, and he'll be working on a few projects.
CR wanted: Open to just about anything.

Plans: Not a whole heck of a lot, tbh. But I'm down for anything.
CR wanted: Legit everything. He's happy to be friends with everyone, but negative CR is welcome, too. I'm not terribly finicky with him. He's just happy to exist. About them: From Trace: Perfume, Shikeo is an impulsive-but-kind individual who values his personal space. Mostly because he emits a very effective pheromone to anyone who can smell him. Don't worry if you don't want that, though. The Train has been kind enough to make his SCA emit a scent of Jasmine to cover it as long as he wears it.
Plans: Shenanigans, mostly. But he's new, so lots of stuff is up in the air. I'm down for SCA removal for giggles, too.

About them: The eldest nephew of That Asshole on Team Red and the cousin of What Was Until Now A Really Alarming Proportion of the Train, Fingon is a prince of the Noldorin Elves and, until recently, their High King.
He's dead, by the by. That's what happens to Noldorin High Kings. Ask around for other horror stories about how the House of Finwe can't keep their bodies unpunctured, there are a lot of them.
Anyway he's basically a nice boy, more than a little impetuous but brave and gracious nonetheless. He's an archer by habit (talk to him about his new bow, people) and a swordsman by practicality and cultural expectation and he's probably happy to talk about both.
Plans: His closest friend just dropped, so Fingon's going to be quietly devastated in a corner. Or possibly shooting things in the gym. Whichever works to dull the sad.

About them: Born the Crown Princess of Hyrule (and a bunch of other things besides, this series is convoluted), Zelda was forced out of her home at the age of ten due to the manipulations of the sorcerer king Ganondorf. She spent her adolescence as a ninja-bard of dubious gender, meant to make sure the Hero Destined to Save Everyone had the information he needed to do his job. Stolen away at the moment of victory to find herself here, though not before she gave the Internet the Zelda Timeline which has bewildered us ever since.
Plans: Zelda has been cagey about revealing much information about who she is and what her real life is like (look, there's a piece of divine power on her right hand; you'd be cautious too). Having seen enough to come to the conclusion that being here probably doesn't have much to do with events at home, she might try to reach out more on the train.

Also, she'd really like a Deku Baba to end up among the plants one day. She really misses her flash-bang Deku nuts.

About them: Symphogear, She's a small alchemist / scientist that was taken in by S.O.N.G after taking down Carol her other half since she was trying to you know kill all the miracles and the world. Elfnein's originally a gender-less clone but since fusing with Carol and all that she's a normal human. Elfnein also doesn't really sleep and runs off coffee and energy drinks.
Plans: Now that she has a few people willing to buy her energy drinks it's time to do more research about how the train works.
