Test Drive Meme 010
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Greenhouse
The newest carriage is a greenhouse.
The ceiling is a dome shape, a single metal beam runs from one end to another, mounted on this beam are large bright lights.
The aisle of grass runs down the middle, from one door to the next. Stone paths branch off around raised beds of soil. Nothing is growing yet but there are crates in which passengers can find a whole host of seeds and bulbs for various flowers.
Plenty for passengers with green fingers to do! Plant some seeds, tend to those they have planted already. Chase away people who have no idea what they are doing! Remind them they have to take the seeds out of the packet first!
If planting is a new thing then the ICP has some handy gardening tips or they can always ask their fellow Voidtreckers!
Sports Balls
For those who prefer their hobbies much more energetic then the gym's cupboard is full of balls. Balls for every sport they can imagine! The space is long and narrow which means a little bit of adapting but there is plenty of fun to be had. Start a game of football, or basket ball.
Make some new friends and get some friendly rivalry going!
Monkey Madness!
It's a strange mission to be sure but the Voidtreckers have been called to help a huge zoo tackle a problem. Every monkey enclosure has been broken open and the creatures have gotten out and into the city, where they are causing mayhem.
Team One
Though the monkeys don't pose much threat to human life they cause quite a big of damage. Team one is to try and get as many businesses and homes safe as possible. Bring things indoors, reinforce doors and windows. Warn those in the city of the incoming horde!
Team Two
Round up the monkeys! The aim is to do this without harming and luckily they have some capture devices, that can be thrown to spring straps around a creature. Bribing them is also encouraged. The city has prepared vans for the creatures to be lured or taken to. Careful though, these monkeys are cunning and mischievous and clever enough to steal the capture devices and throw them back at the Voidtreckers! Who is catching who?
Team Three
Back in the zoo there is plenty to do. First and foremost the enclosures need fixing and reinforced. Also an investigation is underway to figure out what happened and who is responsible. If DIY or investigating work is not in a passengers skill set then there are still many other animals that need fed and cleaned!
Reward time!
Soon all the monkeys are back in their proper homes and the city put back to rights! As a thank you the zoo is handing out free ice cream and a free pass to enjoy the zoo for the day.
Have fun!
Leviathan | Original
Leviathan had never planted a single thing in his life, but it didn't mean he didn't have an appreciation for nature. He was content just being in the greenhouse carriage, enjoying the smell of grass and earth. He'd settled himself next to one of the empty stretches of soil, humming a little tune to himself as he unpackaged bulbs and gently planted them.
His sleeves were rolled up so he wouldn't get them dirty, revealing the burn scars that covered his left hand and arm. Indeed, the scars covered most of the left side of his body, visible above his shirt collar where they stopped just shy of his chin. He considered himself lucky that his head hadn't been burned, as well, because things were already difficult enough as it was.
He wasn't letting his scars bother him for the moment, though, as he carefully covered the flower bulbs, patting the dirt down lightly. It felt good to get his hands dirty in a literal sense. It was normal, therapeutic even.
b. Rewards
He hadn't very much enjoyed chasing down monkeys, but now that everything was in order again, he had a chance to relax. And enjoy some ice cream, which he'd never actually had before. Or, if he had, it'd been so long ago that he'd forgotten, which was also a possibility. He'd never been to a zoo before, either, and it was fascinating to see all the different kinds of animals. But..
"It's sad, isn't it?" he said. "Wild animals caged for the entertainment of others? Humans would put everything in a zoo if they could." Not that demons were that much different, but that didn't mean Leviathan approved of it when they did it, either.

"Flowers," he replied warmly, "And I was considering another row, yes. Why, were you thinking of planting some yourself?"

"I think these are daffodils," he replied, looking around for the discarded packaging to double-check. "Are you a fan of flowers?" Or had Bucky planted something else?

Checking the package again, he shook his head. "It doesn't say. I guess the only way to find out how close they can be planted is to try." And see if they grew. He couldn't see why they wouldn't, but he wasn't an expert on plants.

Maybe he should get someone to order a book on it with his points. He peered at the package around Levi, then reached over, using his metal hand to start digging a little hole for a bulb. "Does that look good enough?" Was it like the ones Levi had made before Bucky had crashed his plant planting party?
no subject
Peering at the hole Bucky had made, Leviathan compared it to a bulb, then nodded. "I think they should be a few inches deeper than the bulbs themselves," he said, moving the package of bulbs between them. And Bucky hadn't crashed his planting party; Leviathan was enjoying his company so far.

The silence is comfortable enough, but Bucky is nothing if not a curious guy. "So what were you up to, before the train snatched you away?" he asks lightly. "Everybody seems to be from different places and times -- worlds, even."
no subject
"I'd just reconciled with a loved one," he said. "We'd spent too many years apart, for no good reason. In fact, a lot of problems in my life were being solved." He was careful to avoid mentioning hell or any other specifics. While he wasn't ashamed of being a demon, he didn't want to overwhelm a complete stranger, especially not one who seemed so kind.
"I must admit, I'm not too surprised at the idea of multiple worlds," he admitted. "I've heard of and seen far stranger things."
no subject
"I think this is about the weirdest thing I've ever dealt with, though. A train, chugging along through a void that isn't space... or something. People from my own world, but all different points in time. It's pretty wild."
no subject
He made a thoughtful noise. The 'different points in time' thing was pretty strange, but considering he'd been kidnapped from hell, he was sure this place would have some way of explaining it, if they could only find the answers. After a moment's hesitation, he finally added, "Does your world have an afterlife?"

"So did it hurt, when you fell from heaven?" he asks in a light, suggestive tone, his grin coming out full-force now.
no subject
For a moment, Leviathan didn't even know how to respond to that, staring intently at the holes in the soil as if they were the most fascinating things on the entire train. On the one hand, he didn't want to overwhelm his companion, but on the other he didn't want to lie.
"It did, actually, quite a lot," he replied.
no subject
But did that mean..? His blush fades as his curiosity and unease ramps up. "But does that mean you're human, or like... a demon?"
no subject
"Mmmm." He considered that for a moment, looking back down at the flower bulbs. "I'm a demon. But I have no plans to hurt anyone." In case Bucky was worried about that.
