Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

Greenhouse

The newest carriage is a greenhouse.

The ceiling is a dome shape, a single metal beam runs from one end to another, mounted on this beam are large bright lights.

The aisle of grass runs down the middle, from one door to the next. Stone paths branch off around raised beds of soil. Nothing is growing yet but there are crates in which passengers can find a whole host of seeds and bulbs for various flowers.

Plenty for passengers with green fingers to do! Plant some seeds, tend to those they have planted already. Chase away people who have no idea what they are doing! Remind them they have to take the seeds out of the packet first!

If planting is a new thing then the ICP has some handy gardening tips or they can always ask their fellow Voidtreckers!

Sports Balls

For those who prefer their hobbies much more energetic then the gym's cupboard is full of balls. Balls for every sport they can imagine! The space is long and narrow which means a little bit of adapting but there is plenty of fun to be had. Start a game of football, or basket ball.

Make some new friends and get some friendly rivalry going!

Monkey Madness!

It's a strange mission to be sure but the Voidtreckers have been called to help a huge zoo tackle a problem. Every monkey enclosure has been broken open and the creatures have gotten out and into the city, where they are causing mayhem.

Team One

Though the monkeys don't pose much threat to human life they cause quite a big of damage. Team one is to try and get as many businesses and homes safe as possible. Bring things indoors, reinforce doors and windows. Warn those in the city of the incoming horde!

Team Two

Round up the monkeys! The aim is to do this without harming and luckily they have some capture devices, that can be thrown to spring straps around a creature. Bribing them is also encouraged. The city has prepared vans for the creatures to be lured or taken to. Careful though, these monkeys are cunning and mischievous and clever enough to steal the capture devices and throw them back at the Voidtreckers! Who is catching who?

Team Three

Back in the zoo there is plenty to do. First and foremost the enclosures need fixing and reinforced. Also an investigation is underway to figure out what happened and who is responsible. If DIY or investigating work is not in a passengers skill set then there are still many other animals that need fed and cleaned!

Reward time!

Soon all the monkeys are back in their proper homes and the city put back to rights! As a thank you the zoo is handing out free ice cream and a free pass to enjoy the zoo for the day.

To Shikeo's surprise, it's not cold, hard ground he hits, but the gentle cradle of arms. With wide eyes, he looks up at Curufin and well...

The last time he was carried... or the times before... he was always unconscious. This is... n e w…

So he can't help but blush a little. Boy, has he never been more thankful to be covered in poop. It would be awkward to have to fight his way out just after being saved.

"Ah. Thank you. Urm…"

An uncomfortable glance to the side.

"...Could you please set me down?"

Not to be rude, but he doesn't like this being held thing one bit.

The catch itself may have been a little bumpy, but the arms that hold Shikeo afterwards are most definitely gentle. Curufin looks into Shikeo's eyes and smiles to see the man blushing.

"Sure, I'll set you down." He sets Shikeo on his feet. "You okay?"

No problem, they're total strangers. Curufin won't fault him for any stray embarrassment.

"I'm fine, thanks to you. I thought I was gonna hit pavement."

Shikeo straightens his shirt out, grimacing as his hand grabs more squished poop he didn't realise was there. ...Oh, well.

"I didn't expect monkeys to be so... Slippery."

It's like a cat, but with hands instead of paws. And flings its own poop for God-knows-what-reason.

He makes his way back over to the tree, looking up at the branches to try and spot the monkey again as he wraps an arm onto the trunk and begins trying to climb again.

"Instead you hit ELF," says Curufin with a grin.

He watches Shikeo squishing monkey poo out of his shirt. "Slippery and none too concerned about who they throw their poop at, right? I guess they don't understand we're trying to save them from becoming urban dwellers." Snicker.

He follows as Shikeo goes back to the tree. "Want some help?"

"Elf?"

He pauses and turns back to Curufin, looking him over. Inevitably, those ears are there. One could probably see the gears turning in his head. But...

"Whatever. There are weirder things to take care of."

After all, Dambi has fox ears and a tail. It shouldn't be that weird. Back to the tree. Unfortunately for Curufin, Shikeo either doesn't get the joke, or just doesn't acknowledge it.

"Yea, I'll take your help. Try to stand under it; I'll see if I can get it to fall or something."

And if he doesn't? Well, Curufin's there to catch him again, right?

The ears actually aren't the most Elvish thing about Curufin, since they are only very slightly pointed -- not more so than the ears of some mortals. But he does have an aura of otherworldliness, visible to anyone who has the ability or even just the inclination to perceive it. And he doesn't move like a modern person, being far too grounded in his body and his physical environment. It's positively medieval or even ancient era.

"I'm of the Elven race, yes. But we'll deal with these monkeys right now!" He grins.

"Okay, I'll stand under the tree while you climb. Just yell if you need me to come up there and help chase the little critter. Otherwise, I'll keep myself beneath it, and if it falls or jumps, I'll catch it."

And he'll certainly catch Shikeo if he falls again!

He moves under the tree's branches again.

Shikeo nods and climbs up the tree, crawling himself out on the limb to reach the primate.

"Come here, monkey, come on," he tries to coax. The monkey doesn't seem impressed, though.

Slowly, Shikeo stands up again, and the monkey screeches. It tries to graze past once again, and Shikeo makes a grab for it.

"GOTCHA! Wai.... WHAH!"

Shikeo grabbed the monkey, alright, but falls again. He holds it tight while the thing screeches and tries to get out. Not good; it actually hurts.

Curufin, looking up, keeps a careful eye on Shikeo. And on the monkey.

And wouldn't you know it, Shikeo gets hold of the animal but misses his footing and comes plunging down from the shaky branch, into empty space.

Curufin leaps to get beneath the falling man and catches him again. "Got you!" The monkey is in Shikeo's grasp, but is obviously trying to escape.
