Test Drive Meme 010
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Greenhouse
The newest carriage is a greenhouse.
The ceiling is a dome shape, a single metal beam runs from one end to another, mounted on this beam are large bright lights.
The aisle of grass runs down the middle, from one door to the next. Stone paths branch off around raised beds of soil. Nothing is growing yet but there are crates in which passengers can find a whole host of seeds and bulbs for various flowers.
Plenty for passengers with green fingers to do! Plant some seeds, tend to those they have planted already. Chase away people who have no idea what they are doing! Remind them they have to take the seeds out of the packet first!
If planting is a new thing then the ICP has some handy gardening tips or they can always ask their fellow Voidtreckers!
Sports Balls
For those who prefer their hobbies much more energetic then the gym's cupboard is full of balls. Balls for every sport they can imagine! The space is long and narrow which means a little bit of adapting but there is plenty of fun to be had. Start a game of football, or basket ball.
Make some new friends and get some friendly rivalry going!
Monkey Madness!
It's a strange mission to be sure but the Voidtreckers have been called to help a huge zoo tackle a problem. Every monkey enclosure has been broken open and the creatures have gotten out and into the city, where they are causing mayhem.
Team One
Though the monkeys don't pose much threat to human life they cause quite a big of damage. Team one is to try and get as many businesses and homes safe as possible. Bring things indoors, reinforce doors and windows. Warn those in the city of the incoming horde!
Team Two
Round up the monkeys! The aim is to do this without harming and luckily they have some capture devices, that can be thrown to spring straps around a creature. Bribing them is also encouraged. The city has prepared vans for the creatures to be lured or taken to. Careful though, these monkeys are cunning and mischievous and clever enough to steal the capture devices and throw them back at the Voidtreckers! Who is catching who?
Team Three
Back in the zoo there is plenty to do. First and foremost the enclosures need fixing and reinforced. Also an investigation is underway to figure out what happened and who is responsible. If DIY or investigating work is not in a passengers skill set then there are still many other animals that need fed and cleaned!
Reward time!
Soon all the monkeys are back in their proper homes and the city put back to rights! As a thank you the zoo is handing out free ice cream and a free pass to enjoy the zoo for the day.
Have fun!
Kitchens
Shikeo looks up as Mami sets the food in front of him, still halfway in a reverie. He'd isolated himself to a table, with piles of clothes on to try and hide his scent. He hadn't really expected anyone to approach him, though, then again, why wouldn't they either?
"Oh. Thank you." He's trapped in a momentary stare as he comes to the realization that there is now food in front of him.
He gives a grateful nod and picks up his fork, and begins digging in.
"Hey! This tastes great!"
It'd been a long time since he tasted something like this, living off of they paycheck of busking.

Mami looks over her newest customer, concerned. Is he all right?
"I'm very glad to hear it. But are you sick? You look like you might have chills."
In other words...wearing that many hoodies is strange, sir.

Shikeo's eyebrows raise up nervously.
"Ah, no, I'm not sick. It's just..." Protection. "I get cold very easily. I'm okay, I promise."
That should work. He hopes.
"Do you... cook all the time?"
For a moment, he can't help but think of his mother. The warmth, the flavour. It was nice.

It's still odd. Mami's going to keep an eye on this one, just in case he needs help.
"I do! I live alone and I can't spend frivolously, so I need to. But I have so much time to myself I can really work hard on the recipes."
no subject
"Yea. Thanks."
It's a little standoffish, though he doesn't mean it to be. He can't help but scooch a little further away in the seat of his chair. Just in case. He doesn't want a repeat of that guy in the park. Against a lady, no less. Then he'd feel really bad.
So, she lives alone. Shikeo frowns a little. Even when he was alone, he wasn't alone for long at all. He's almost always had somebody. From his mom, to Timber, to Dambi, to the town he came to call home. There's always been someone there for him.
"It shows. It's really good. I bet lots of people here love it. I know Timber and Dambi would. Dambi would especially if you make sweets, too."
Even though they're not here with him, he can't help but talk about them as if they were. He misses them.

Mami might sound a little awkward, so his awkwardness mostly passes unnoticed. She smiles a litle. She'll just have to get used to normal situations, even if this is abnormal for most.
"I have someone else here who wants sweets after dinner. What do you think I should make?"
no subject
"My best friends. They always come first."
He hopes they're okay. He can imagine them frantically searching for him. Or maybe the forces that brought him here took them somewhere else. He doesn't like that he's separated from them, and a worried frown crosses his features. Is this some government operation or something? It might explain why he and his friends are separated. He doesn't know if the government would keep Traces who know each other together. But then, would that make everyone else on this train a Trace too? Maybe...
The more he thinks about it, the more his head begins to hurt. There's just too much he doesn't know.
He gives pause at the question, considering his options.
"Uhm… maybe pastries? Or hard candies."
He's lived poor okay? Decadent is not something he gets to experience as far as sweets get to go.

Mami claps her hands, a little smile on her face, and sets off for the kitchen, waving for him to come along.
"Want to learn how to do it? We'll start with something simple, sugar cookies."
