Congratulations! You’re now on the Void Train and no, that’s not a band name. This is, for better or worse, a new world for all of us and we’re stuck here. In order to detect patterns in these abductions, I’m conducting a survey. Please answer everything to the best of your ability. If you have any questions about the form please consult whoever is standing next to you other than me, because you should be intelligent enough to answer these very straight forward questions.

Kaito probably tried to tell you how cool he is, but Aoko knows Kaito just says that because he's also a lame magician.

[ Well, okay. Kaito's not lame. However, he can't ever know she thinks that. He'll never let it go and she will actually die. ]

Why don't you- er- Aoko.. Am I supposed to also talk to you like you're in third person or is it just you who talks in third person? I need the rules for this thing. Like what happens if we actually get another person named Aoko. Obviously we'd name you 'Aoko #1' but that could get confusing if someone doesn't realize you're #1.

You can just talk you normally do. It's just a thing girls do where Aoko's from. [ She explains calmly. ]

Um... well Aoko's never run into that, actually. But her name is written as 'blue child' maybe the other Aoko would write it differently?

He flashes her a smile for the explanation.]

Is that because you have blue eyes or were you just really cold when your parents named you?

You can if you'd like, but Kaito should know that already-we've been best friends since we were six. [ A pause. ] ...Even if he did almost forget Aoko's birthday this year.

[ Hmph! ]

Mmm... probably, but Aoko can't really think of anything right now... Kaito's already answered most of her questions.

Sweetheart, little advice from a dad? He's a boy. He's always going to need to be reminded of stuff like that. Birthstones and birthdays are just good things to always put on his calendar for him.

[ She sighs, wondering how many people he's tricked into thinking he's some kind of nice young man. ]

[ her expression softens again and she gives him a warm smile. ]

[He smiles and bids her good-bye. Once the door closes, he takes a drink from his flask.]
