Test Drive Meme 009

Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

3. Have much fun!

Happy testing!

Dining Car

Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.

Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.

Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?

Chores

Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.

Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.

Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.

Snow Way!

In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.

Team One

The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!

Team Two

Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.

Team Three

Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.

Snowball fight!

Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.

Have fun!

"My mistake. And yeah. Flamel. Not the greatest conversationalist but not the worst I've seen."

Waver opened his mouth...then closed it. Opened it again and took a breath to answer, but came up with nothing for a moment.

Sure. That might as well happen.

"...Actually, not the weirdest thing I've seen lately. Sorry--what's your name?"
timeslastsoldier: (yes?)

"The Doctor. Nice to meet you." He wrings out the mop water, refreshes and starts in another corner.

littlefury: (hope discarded and broken)

It went without saying that wasn't the kind of name he'd expected, but then again simplified aliases weren't exactly a new concept to someone who spent most of his time with a person called 'Lancer'. So he raised an eyebrow briefly, but didn't actually question it.

"Same here--it's Waver. My name's Waver Velvet."

Full time student, part time alchemist, occasional dishwasher.

"Water Velvet. Interesting combination." He'd heard stranger, but the two words didn't even seem connected. "Which do you prefer to be called?"
littlefury: (like a rose that blooms and grows)

Waver frowned like he'd heard every imaginable insult about his name and expected another one. When that was the only comment made, he sighed quietly in some kind of relief.

"Just Waver. It's my first name, so that's what I'd expect from people."

"Fair enough. How long have you been here, Waver? What do you like about it? What do you hate?" The mopping is done, but he's mopped himself in a little patch of dry floor. Rather than stepping over anything he just remains where he is and waits for it to dry.
littlefury: (into a world repeating on end)

"Not long." He finished a few more plates and set them aside to dry, just about finished with the mountain of work he'd started with.

"...I can't stand any of it, really. I have things to do back home, and someone probably waiting for me to get back." A small, annoyed sigh. "But there's nothing I can do except to go along with all of this."

"Well for now there's no point in worrying about what you're not doing. Might as well enjoy what you can. And who knows if time even passes the same here and there. Time is not as straightforward as you think."
littlefury: (could my tears carve a path)

"I've studied the concept of parallel worlds before, but only that--in concept. What you're saying makes sense from what I know of the idea, but...I guess I still can't help being worried."

Waver finished setting aside the last of the dishes, taking off the gloves he'd been wearing and looking to a red mark in three segments on the back of his right hand. One piece of it had faded, the right side looking like a faint scar. Almost under his breath, he added:

"...I know he's still alive, at least. Maybe time really is different enough that he won't know I'm gone."
