Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

Dining Car

Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.

Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.

Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?

Chores

Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.

Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.

Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.

Snow Way!

In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.

Team One

The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!

Team Two

Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.

Team Three

Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.

Snowball fight!

Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.

"Yeah, what he said," Kaiba grumbled. He did not do the manners thing, like, at all.

But he would help those who did want to escape. A family with two small kids approached, and he took on a much softer tone.

"We'll get you through this, okay? Look tough so you can scare the monsters. Let's go."

Hopefully the other...teammate is coming.

< You can put the little ones on my back if they can hold on. I do not mind the weight. >

"Don't take them all for yourself."

Kaiba lifts one onto the..being's back, before taking one on his own back. He holds on tight, staring ahead at the abyss.

"We don't have long. Hurry!"

And he's going as fast as his legs can cut through this snow.

Have a thought-speak chuckle. < Very well. Let us then find how fast feet can fly. >

Not as fast as he would like...but he makes it to the end of the canyon, setting the child down and then collapsing into the snow once they're safely out. His companion seems to have had far less trouble.

"...your kid's okay?"

But not none. He twisted then lowered himself so those on his back could safely get to the ground. < Seems as well as yours, friend. >

"We're not friends," he answered reflexively. "But good. I think that was the last of the willing. Do we try again for the unwilling?"

< Do you see some reason that we should not be? > he asked, pivoting gracefully to answer if they should try again by action rather than words. He was heading back. Joining him?

Did he have a good reason? Kaiba shrugged, walking beside his...train companion. "I've never had friends, and I don't plan to start now."

He trudged over the hill one more time, the cold starting to sink in. It would have to be his last trip. "Though even I recognize that some goals require cooperation."

< Team work is important, yes. But if I have learned anything on Earth is that friends can be important. Even before then, I should have learned. > He would, unless stopped, rest a seven fingered hand on the human's shoulder. < I lost someone who should have been a friend before I realized I liked him. If you haven't had a friend yet, then I think maybe you should start now. Even if not with me. Trust me, regret is not ideal as your only companion, > he said with soft seriousness.

...

Kaiba stared at that hand for a moment before backing away. Nothing personal. He just hates human contact. Or otherwise.

"That's all wrong. I have my skills. My accomplishments. I don't need anyone..."

But he sounds slightly less sure than before. There is someone he regrets not being friends with.

< No one needs no one, > he said gently. < I've seen what lies at the end of that path, and it is not pleasant. Thankfully for you, > he said a bit more cheerfully, < I have learned to be stubborn. >

"If you want to waste your time," he says, trudging on toward the base. They're there soon enough, and he can handle one more kid. The other kid, he introduces to his companion.

"This is Elfangor. Don't be scared. Despite appearances, he's your friend."

It's a tease, of course. Kaiba doesn't think of himself as cuddly, but he's doing his best to quietly encourage the kid. They'll get through this.

< Pretty sure you're the scary looking one, friend. > He gave a mental chuckle. He knelt his front legs to be closer to the kid's eyes. < Come, let us rude and show my friend which of us can be faster. I think our six legs can beat their four. What say you? >

"Only when I want to be," he fires back with a snort of laughter, but now it's on. As the other kid nods eagerly and climbs on, Kaiba cuts a deal with his.

"We're not going down that easily. Let's move!"

And he pours all of his remaining energy into the race. His long legs are a help, and the fury of a Kaiba who hates to lose is something to behold...but he can't beat simple biology. He trudges up after them with a frown.

"...that's cheating," he grumbles.

He laughed, making sure not to have gone that much faster than a human could. But there was a bit of a smirk in his main eyes as he considered. < Very well then, shall I make it more fair? > He knelt so the child could get off and join the others in safety.

"I've had enough," he pants, letting the kid rejoin the others. He trudges to a place relatively clear of snow and collapses, staring breathlessly at the sky.

"But just wait. I'll get you next time."

A mental chuckle. < Fair enough. Come, we have worked hard, we should find something for you to drink. >

"I'm fine," Kaiba deflects out of habit, but he stands on shaky legs to follow anyway. It's a logical enough thing to do.

< You remain fine by taking care of yourself. >

"Nothing I haven't been told before," he grumbles, trudging back toward the group's base on the safe side. He moves into the tent and reaches for the water, dropping into a nearby chair before looking back up at his companion.

"You're...fine?"

A mental chuckle. < If you mean have I had a drink, I did. The snow up here should be safe enough. And as we ran some times I was able to reach the grass, so I have eaten as well. >
