Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

Dining Car

Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.

Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.

Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?

Chores

Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.

Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.

Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.

Snow Way!

In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.

Team One

The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!

Team Two

Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.

Team Three

Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.

Snowball fight!

Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.

Dining Car

The young girl scowls petulantly.

"But if there's nothing I can eat then why do I have to cook?"

Snow Way - Team One

She eyes the monsters and sniffs.

"They're slow and stupid. Much easier than Kabane. I'll clear a path. Let's see... One minute."

She reaches for the ribbon at her neck.

"Keep up!”

As the ribbon unties her eyes seem to glow, yellow red like hot coals. And then she bursts into motion, inhumanly fast as she leaps and takes the first one out feet first.

"Alright!" Slow and stupid is no match for him! Snow monsters are going to get smushed!

He jumps after her, also faster than any human, but not as fast as she is. He's still young after all and he's not used to fighting.

But big brother isn't here so it's up to him to protect all these people from these monsters. He barrels into a snowman and falls with it, disappearing into the snow before.

"Owww cold!" Comes a muffled voice from deep in the drift. He's probably fine.

Oooh another kabaneri... although doesn't smell right. Perhaps not? Mumei keeps half an eye on him, but presumbaly the snow... things are not infectious, so as long as he doesn't die it's fine, right?

She fires at the one coming up behind, tsking crossly when the jet bullets go straight through, and grabs for his collar.

"Up!"

Up! He is hauled up and flails in the air for a moment, not sure who has grabbed him! Oh it's not a snow monster! Good!

"Thanks!"

He shivers. Snow is so cold! Also there are more snowmen. "Behind you!"

"Keep up!"

She leaps over him, snagging a branch to swing like a large bat.

"Okay!"

He jumped after her, he doesn't really know how to fight. That's what big brothers are for but he's not a vampire of justice for nothing! He can smush into more snowmen and that's what he plans on doing, throwing himself into snow, to break them apart. She can deal with the ice golems, that's a good bat for breaking ice!

"Don't fall!"

She scolds, batting one away from him.

"And watch your back!"

[babysage]

"I'm watching, I'm watching!"

Oops another one, he span around to bash into it, leaving a Kotaro sized snow hole.

"There's so many!"

This is exhausting!

It's been over a minute and Mumei pants, eyeing the oncoming hoards. She's getting hungry, and Ikoma isn't here.

"Kid, will you be alright on your own?"

[babysage]

"Um... Yes!" Yes! Right! He can do this! He's a big strong monster fighting vampire! He's got this. These snow beasts are going down!

"Don't die. I need to sleep." She yawns, the faintest trace of glowing veins starting to trace up her neck.

"Keep them off my back."

[babysage]

"I won't! I'll protect you!"

She would have the best protector! None of these snow beasts would get near her when she slept! That was a promise.

Vampires of justice always kept their promise!

"Good." She yawns again, wobbling as she finds a corner and sinks down.

"I'm too hungry to help you without sleeping for a bit."

[babysage]

"What do you like to eat? Maybe I get someone to find you some for when you wake up."

Being hungry is no fun! He can't fight well when he's hungry either.

She blinks sleepily at him, eyes a strange, glowing redgold.

"Blood." She yawns.

[babysage]

"Oh!" He grins excitedly. "You're a black blood too?"

That was exciting, he's not met one here yet!

"I can ask people if they don't mind if you have some of their blood! There's lotsa people and some know about all sorts of things so I'm sure they won't get mad!"

"What?" She yawns again. "I'm Kabaneri. Not.. whatever that is."

She yawns again, redgold pulsing up her veins.

"I need to sleep... you can ask people."

[babysage]

"Um. Okay!"

He hasn't heard of anyone but Black Bloods who drank blood. But sure. He could find her some blood, but first he would guard her whilst she slept!

"Don't need a lot." She murmurs, eyes slipping closed as she huddles in her cloak. "I miss the Kōtetsujō."

Snow Way - Team One

"Slow and stupid?"

Hephaestion hurls half of his improvised spear - now broken in two, not a problem he'll just pick another one - at the nearest monster. It explodes in a shower of ice and snow. What are those things? Yeti? He heard the stories but never seen one up close so maybe.

"They might be! I doubt it would matter much if they won't stop coming."

There seems to be an endless stream of those creatures.

"Then we'll just have to kill them all!"

She says gleefully, snagging a brach and using it to knock one back into another.

"Right. Kill them all. Of course."

Hephaestion swings a stick he's holding, dislodging golems head from its shoulders.

"Why is that always the default solution, hm? That's not even a viable strategy."

He'd prefer to go after the man who made those. You know, kill the problem at the source? So they stop coming.

Look, she's a kabaneri, not a general or even a bushi - Hephaestion wants to kill the source, she'll cut him a path if he wants.

She bounces over one, and shoves her branch through another.

"Well, they're here, aren't they? So we'll kill them!"

Leaping over one she fires and makes an aggravated tsk when the jet bullet goes right through.

"Flawless logic. Indeed we do."

Hephaestion is a general but another group was tasked with tracking down the villain. Or was it a villainess? The group he's not part of. So perhaps he's just cranky his skills would be put to better use somewhere else.

"I noticed smashing works better. As barbaric as it sounds."

There's no shortage of ice monsters to vent his frustration on.

"Not as fun as kabane." She sighs, and turns the gun around to smash the barrel through another one.

"Tsk." She stops, checks something on her gun.

"And I'm running out of time. Hey, old man, I'm going to get hungry soon. Think you can handle them?"
