Test Drive Meme 009

Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

3. Have much fun!

Happy testing!

Dining Car

Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.

Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.

Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?

Chores

Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.

Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.

Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.

Snow Way!

In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.

Team One

The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!

Team Two

Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.

Team Three

Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.

Snowball fight!

Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.

Have fun!

how do you feel about arachnids?

Well, that was certainly a new one. Garrett knew better than to assume this was a monster that was from Ryslig though. He didn't recall Foggy making any centaur creatures anyway. Minotaurs, yes; other half-human, half-animal types, also yes; part human, part scorpion, part deer and whatever else this guy was? Not so much.

He was intrigued though. Enough that he was watching the creature--man?--do some cleaning chores. The thief wondered how hard it would be to sneak up on the guy. Those extra eyes would make it almost impossible. But if anyone could do it it would be Garrett. They didn't call him the master thief back home for nothing.

But he would have done it while in the shadows had they been in The City. This train didn't provide enough cover or shadows to bother trying.

Still, he did wonder how long it would take the deer-man to notice Garrett was hanging out on the ceiling. That was the one advantage he had as an arachne. Especially useful in the tighter spaces and hallways of the train where he could escape the people passing each other awkwardly below.

I am fine with spiders. Bugs not so much, but spiders? I love them, they eat the things that bug me!

He was an Andalite, and he was specifically cleaning the higher spaces. No not long at all. He aimed a stalk eye up at the creature above him. Like some odd combination of a Skirt Na and an Earth scorpion. Quite odd. < Hello, > he said, in thought-speak. < I mean you no harm if you mean me and mine no harm. I am Prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul of the Andalite home world and Earth. > Whatever it was, it was not a Yerrk ally or it would have attacked him on sight. But the name was a test, because all the Yerks knew his name and race by now.

If he had known the other was a thief considering stealing from him however, he might have found it humorous. Not only was sneaking up on an Andalite impossible for a creature of his size in anything but the darkest of night, but quite frankly all Elfangor had on him TO steal was the rang around his tail blade and the rope that kept it there, and his apron. He did not have pockets in the way of humans because like most Andalites, he owned little, and carried little with him.

Fantastic!! Spiders are great for that reason, too. :'D

So the strangest thing to Garrett was the way the creature spoke in his head rather than with spoken words. Of course, the person didn't have a mouth that Garrett could spot with any of his eight eyes so that made sense when he thought about it. Plus side was he was used to monster magic and telepathy wasn't too bizarre for him to experience. As long as the guy wasn't rooting around inside his head Garrett was fine. He wasn't certain if that was a thing or not but with the supposed gods he'd dealt with in the past he never knew what was real and what wasn't sometimes.

He nodded in response as he came out of his thoughts. "Yeah, that's a mouth full," he replied gamely. It might have been insulting but he said it lightly, jokingly. "Got anything shorter? I'm Garrett. At least you're not afraid or startled by monsters. That tail looks a lot more effective than mine." He waggled it a bit above his head. It was sleek but still thick enough to hold down a man--he knew from experience.

Yep!

< I am generally called Prince Eflangor by the Andalites, or simply Elfangor. > And Alan by humans that no longer remembered him. < I thank you, your tail is impressive as well. >

"...thanks," he replied. That was actually a new one. Most people were either afraid or just uncomfortable and no one wanted to talk about why he was what he was. Neither did Garrett for that matter. It wasn't a fun topic. But hey, he appreciated the lack of questions on that regard. "Now that's much easier to say out loud. Elfangor it is."

< Yes, having to speak using only mouth sounds can make things difficult, > he agreed amicably enough.

Elfangor figured this was how the other was born. Simply an alien race he had not yet met.

"Agreed. But I've never had the pleasure of telepathy or whatever you want to call it," the thief said. He'd only heard it a few times, too. "Only ever been a recipient. Only a few times, still a little weird to process."

< Yes, few species seem to have developed such an ability. >
