Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

Dining Car

Situated above the kitchen the dining car has a large wooden table stretching the length of the carriage. Two long wooden benches run either side of it. At meal times it is inevitably crowded, chaotic and noisy without a doubt.

Try not to jostle your fellow diners as you navigate inter-universe table manners. Or is waiting better? Eating before or after everyone else so that you can eat in relative peace an entire table length from the next nearest person.

Or are you the rebel who starts a food fight?

Chores

Chores are part of life on board the Voidtrecker Express. Each team is assigned a task each month: Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas, laundry and cooking.

Obviously the only thing enforcing these chores in a passengers own conscience and their fellow travellers.

Are you diligent or do you shirk? Do you try swapping your tasks with someone else? Or just outright bribing someone to do your work for you? Work together to get the task done or try and persuade a lazy team member to pull their weight.

Snow Way!

In a small village a copy-cat of the supervillain Professor Chill has struck! She has no weather machine but holds the same ability to control snow- and seems to be using natural winter to attack the village.

Team One

The village is being attacked by snowmen and ice golems. Magically animated ice creatures that attack with sticks and claws. Protect the village by fighting off the snow creatures!

Team Two

Many of the village have tried to escape through a mountain pass. Go and help them evacuate. Fend off monsters, carry children or luggage. Help the villagers through the snowdrifts.

Team Three

Our villain seems as fond of puns as her predecessor and finding her is made either easier or harder by the trail of clues left by her. Clues consist of puns, ice riddles and snow facts. Solve the clues and track her down to bring her to justice.

Snowball fight!

Of course once the monsters and villain have been defeated there is some time to have fun in the snow. If anyone can stand the sight of it any more. Snowballs, snow angels and snowmen (the non animated kind) are yours for the making.

He was conflicted, there. < But if the one responsible can be convinced to stop or stopped, then there could be no more conflict. > He knew the universe was rarely that simple, but he could hope. "One thing at a time. We need to focus on this before we can focus on that. It's too important."

Though he was glad that convincing was part of the strategy. He wasn't sure it would work either, but it was always the first thing to try. And the second and the third. But not more than that.

He chuckles.

"We've developed a keen sense of balance. A bit reckless maybe but better in the long run." He's speaking for bipeds in general, no need to protest his species really.

< Agreed, preserving innocent life comes first, here. > He wished it came first always. < I have long been impressed by humans' ability to walk with only two legs and no tail. But I am also impressed by throwing. It is not a thing I think many of my people could manage to any useful effect. > He was still moving as they spoke, keeping a stalk eye on the kids on his back, and another peeled for trouble.

He nods, glad that they are on the same page.

"Comes from having an evolution lived in trees" He skids a bit on a bit of loose snow and grits his teeth as he stops himself. The child on his back cries out but he shushes her gently, sweat peppering his forehead.

"Though between you and me I'd rather give that up for a few more legs right about now."

Oh if they ever sat to talk they'd find they were on the same page on a great many topics.

< Yes, but human tree dwelling ancestors often had rather useful tails. > He used his own, faster than a human eye could follow, to clear a large downed branch in their way. He could have easily jumped it alone. But as a group they would have had trouble with the large fallen thing, its branches making a frozen wall. Now it could simply be stepped over, its branches littering the ground to either side.

< While there is much to admire in the human form, I do not blame you, having four legs is making this a great deal easier for me, I suspect. Also I do not have to stop to eat or drink. > Now that they were away from the magical snow things he was allowing himself to drink as they ran to replenish vital hydration. And occasionally his hoof went deep enough in the snow to taste the dormant grass beneath.
