He only adopted two and strongly suspects every single adult on the train adopted Madoka at this point. So Renee remains his favorite. (Doesn't mean Madoka isn't. He can have two favorites.)

Also are we still on that he's helping her study? He definitely should order books for her (i planned to do this ... but the derped totally) because girl you're not failing your exams because of something as insignificant as being kidnapped a space train.
