Event: Breach! OOC Info and Plotting

This months on-train event is on the 8th and 9th of February.

On day twenty of the month of Domino an incident on the train will lead to everyone on board succumbing to a strange sleep. This sleep is no ordinary sleep and will result in bizarre dreams, bizarre shared dreams with their fellow passengers.

Dream with Me

Dreams can be about anything you wish them to be! Bare in mind that due to the nature of the void these dreams will be strange and surreal, even if your character normally dreams lucidly. You are very welcome to use people, places and moments from your characters lives before the train to shape their dreams but nothing will be quite as expected. There will be no pure-memories. For example: They may see their very important person but the dream will be set on one of the worlds they have visited on the train.

Of course it is no dream event without the ability of treading through each others dreams and passengers will find themselves in many dreams throughout the event, tumbling from one to another with no real transition between them. Nothing will strike them as strange whilst they are dreaming. There will be some general dream ideas in the opening post- dreams that all can share.

Characters will dream all of day twenty and will wake up in their beds on day twenty one, no worse for wear. There will be a final dream/vision for passengers to see, if you wish them to!

Anticipated Questions

My character does not/cannot dream. Can I take part? Yes! Due to the nature of the void characters who do not usually dream will be able to this time. If you find it too strange to write their own dreams you may want them just to wander into other passengers dreams.

Can my character stay awake? No, all characters will be sleeping. If you don't wish your character to dream that is fine! They will sleep a dreamless sleep and wake with the others on day twenty one.

Will passengers remember the dreams? Yes they will! It will be a bit muddled, all the dreams merging into one swirl of confusing dream-time. But you are welcome for them to remember snippets of information, special conversations, anything else you wish, within that dream swirl.

Do the dreams have to be good? No! They can be nightmares if you wish! Obviously use common sense and make sure to mark anything that needs content warnings!

If you have any questions please ask them below. There will be a mod- post event starter on the 8th February and then an ooc event end post, detailing the final optional vision for characters waking up on the 10th February.

The Doctor & Peter Parker

The Doctor: The Doctor's dream is going to bring about the Dream Lord. He will be mostly prominent in the Doctor's dream and follow him around trying to convince people one dream is real while the others are fake and they have to figure out which ones are which because they maybe facing actual life threatening danger.

Want the Doctor and the Dream Lord to pay a visit to your dream to try and fill you with doubt? The Doctor will at least try to help with whatever while the Dream Lord is a cynical ass about everything.



Peter Parker: his dream will feature Powerless, Asthmatic Peter Parker on a field trip with his class except his class is other people. Might involve a guest appearance from Uncle Ben. For the most part, Peter's dream is mostly going to be a field trip from hell.

If you want to be there for him for of the distorted darker stuff in Peter's past, lemme know and I'll set up a CW for the bad stuff.

Ple Two

This is going to almost certainly have some death, abuse, and manipulation in her dream or dreams. Glemy Toto, the wannabe warlord who thawed her out, is going to be in her dreams and convincing her to attack those who end up in her dreams... and she'll probably listen. So prepare to get blown up in her dreams.

There might be some Elpeo Ple as well - the girl she was cloned from and who she killed in battle - and she might be kind of... not in one piece if you're interested in really fucking with Ple Two and your character.

Odds are good she wakes up some degree of crying or screaming.

Thea Queen and Jessie Custer

Thea Queen: her dream will be a greatest hits reel of all the bad things from the first 3 seasons of Arrow (through her being stabbed) along with her year on "screw or die" island. Will CW as needed.

Jessie Custer: her dream will reveal things mentioned during S3 of Preacher aka welcome to Angelville. CW for abuse, small spaces/cause of her phobia, issues with family, religion.

... Sex island is interesting, but Nita's only of-age thanks to her time in The Wake, so we can avoid Nita crashing those dreams/nightmares if you prefer. ^^;

She could end up talking to Jessie about religion, maybe? About forcing people to believe something vs letting them come to their own decisions/have their own opinions.

(1) A lonely dream about wandering through a forest of people turned to/made of stone and never meeting anyone but seeing the faces of loved ones in the statues, maybe hearing the sound of chisel at work in the distance

(2) Something warm and fluffy and full of family feels and bright bright light

I am currently toying with whether I want to be cruel to Reigen or just go full surreal. Last time he was trapped in a dream world he hated it.

Regardless, expect some cubicle hell and Reigen City, with a potential guest appearance from dream world Mob!

Lightning - Dream only, no Nightmares
1. chocobos, dralites, chinchillas, moogles, the weird pulsian frogsheep..... they're cute, and they're everywhere. This facet of the dream may merge with other, similar dreams for ultimate petting zoo.
2. Everyone in her dream has a chance of appearing like a crystalline version of themselves
3. there won't be any conflict in her dreams, she'll just be pulling people in more than the average dream like she's looking for someone
4. the settings of her dreams will be really shifting because she's used to the world of battle, and gravity won't make sense a lot of the time orientation-wise

Kumoko - Mostly Dream, with social anxiety Nightmare
1. congrats, you're in a video game now. it's all of the mission worlds but now with skill level up pop-ups and pixels
2. every now and then it'll shift and she'll be sat in a classroom and the rest of the class will either be amorphous eldritch blobs or other train people; the classroom board will read things like MAKING FRIENDS FOR DUMMIES and have a constantly shifting TEAM POINTS total.
3. sometimes if they're moving between areas they'll be in an endless cave system for a while

Vader - Nightmares, combat, dead loved ones, and emotion
1. he'll be in the train or a starship or the recent mission world and Palpatine will be there and say sth like, you are no longer required. and then one of the traingoers will attack him whether its actually them or not. that's happening for sure. If you go 'why was I holding a lightsaber and fighting Vader' after waking up then you ended up in this dream.
2. hope you like highlight reels of Padme Amidala because that's also happening
3. another, he'll be lifting rubble in the recent mission and Luke or Padme is lying dead under the ice
4. ever-shifting, storm-like emotion!

Gyousou - Dream only, neutral attempt at subconscious to resolve recent events
1. Taiki is going to find himself shifting between his child and adult forms, as Gyousou tries to marry the two images of him in his head.
2. Gyousou will be holding court, but the throne room is a cave, and the train, and the platform, and sometimes instead of sitting on a throne he's chained to a pillar or sat on a train seat. dream visitors might be presented as petitioners, or take the place of a minister; the ministers make zero sense.

Creed: Going to be a nightmare. Going with 616 Creed for this. So, it'll be this Vic, but going bug nut crazy at the drop of a hat and slaughtering faceless people. Except one. One will be a dark haired Chinese girl with blue eyes and a yellow trench coat. The landscape will be vaguely "jungle" but nothing recognizable. But when he hurts her, Vic is gonna break and go a little crazy. Please be cautious approaching the wildly violent cat-man.

Misa: Will be wandering through a frozen market (thanks train) in a white dress with a faceless Twi'lek at her back. She will be turning almost blue from the cold. She will also be wandering through other people's dreams. Please come rescue her!

I think the only thing that makes sense for Ivy here is The Cave - a dark, completely static place that she's always got lurking on the edges of her mind, here combined with a dream-logic-instilled emotional understanding of what it feels like to have been there for years. Who wants to hang out in the immortality-induced boredom-trauma clubhouse with the zany ghost girl???

To open, this event is my jam, so anyone willing to crash Nita's dreams and find anything from people turning into animals to an even more bizarre version of the Crossings (but with TRAINS), is very welcome to~

There is also some dark shit people can stumble upon (which will, of course, be CW'd if it comes up - her mother died of cancer, for one, and Nita has not led a peaceful life in service of the Powers. Encountering the Lone Power is also an option, which is never pleasant unless you find the snarky one in a gilded cage. You can let Her out even, though that's not a good idea. In Nautilus, there was also the time AM kidnapped her, and the time people transformed into plants...).

And then there's the peridexis, and some extra content in that direction if people try to harm Nita.

ETA: ALSO in her canon there is a thing known as the Pullulus - one of the Lone Power's weapons that even It is reluctant to wield. Canonically, it pushes apart the hyperstrings reality itself is hung upon, filling reality with more of itself. It also makes it harder to think clearly - over time, the only emotions normal people can be in touch with are negative ones. Paranoia and threats of nuclear war abounded on Earth during the time it was used, and the rest of the galaxy wasn't that far behind. Wizardry itself was also messed with, and if the Pullulus had been allowed to continue existing there would have been, say, supernovas, as well as fundamental laws like light and gravity going wonky.

Think of an even more nightmareish version of the Void, and you get this, basically. This is only for those who REALLY want to crash a nightmare, though; it doesn't have to come up this storm at all if people would Rather Not.

Dread is just going to be fighting a million different things from Eorzea. Primals. Ultima and Omega. Garleans, dragons, King Moggle Mog. It isn't even necessarily a bad dream -- this is just Dread's Eorzean life, for the most part.

Edge, on the other hand, is having dreams about monsters, death, and mayhem. Get to see another side of this cheerful and fiery ninja as he struggles with his people being killed by monsters and technological nightmares!

Zetta has a body in his dream, and is running around at full strength. Welcome to a Netherworld of dreams! Welcome to the true nature of the Overlord! Hyaaaha ha ha ha ha!

I'll be offering both fun dream and nightmare options. With nightmares on the surreal side to keep down the gore (but if someone wants gore, I can provide) plotting also on plurk

Wen Qing has only arrived with the February newbies, coming straight from the execution of herself and most of her family (death by fire is really hot, guys, 0/10 stars) and still suffering from hellish nightmares. So for the nightmare section, I have in mind the train stylized as Carp Tower where she died, all gold and ivory. Everything's on fire, there will be faceless shadows dancing or screaming in the flames, while other shadows or people she knows from home or the train dressed in golden clothes are dispassionately watching. Could have other places like Burial Mounds village where she lived for the last couple of years in flames, too. Maybe you'll get the special treat of seeing her brother die - this did not happen but she was told he would also be burned and Wen Ning coming to harm is her One Fear.

The dreams section will have the train as a giant sword, on which you are flying through the sky and can touch the clouds. When the dream merges with Nita's this could change into flying through outer space, oops!

There might also be weirdly peaceful vulcano aesthetic because everyone else has volcano nightmares but her home was a volcano goth town. Dunno yet how to incorporate that.

I am thinking that she'll have a trippy dream of the inside of Castle Oblivion. Sort of like the intro to Kingdom Hearts 2. Lots of stairs and getting lost and fun interesting places to stumble upon from Sora's memories because that will be fun.

I have no idea but it'll be a dream like a thief heist and then her butting her big butt into others dreams. So come at me. Let's plan. She totally dreams of being an awesome Queen so that might be fun. Sorta Alice and Wonderland esq.

She'll likely have a nightmare that's just a war zone.

Romeo: Two dreams, one nightmare

1) Dream There will definitely be a void picnic on the roof of the train. Romeo, all his friends, lots of food. A small army of Hibiki's spy-goats will be warding the area from the threats of wolves, goblins, snowmen and jellyfish*

2) Dream Some kind of library/book dream. Reading adventures! Maybe a picture book come alive?

3) Nightmare Set on the train probably and featuring shadowy adults who scale to whoever enters the dream. So if you are 6 foot tall they will be absolute giants. But don't worry, Romeo will try and protect you! This dream will have themes of slavery and violence against children so bare that in mind!

All of them will feature a blonde haired boy who won't do much but smile and sometimes sprout idealistic sayings or dramatic vows of friendship.

*Romeo has never actually seen a jellyfish, so they will be actual fish, made of jelly, with tentacles. I am sorry.


Little One: Dreams only with an option of turning darker

1) She is going to be chasing a mysterious girl. It will start in a void-twist version of her world (my first thought is running through a souk but all the stall keepers are lindusi) and then move into nonsense worlds based on ones she has been to on the train and the train itself.

One of these worlds is going to be Peter and Tony's world as she understands it from Peter's stories. So expect utter and complete nonsense in that one.

Also I am up for her chasing the girl into other peoples dreams as well, if anyone is up for that!

If anyone is interested in being in a thread where she catches up to the girl let me know- it would put a darker, more nightmare turn on the dream.


Taiki: Two dreams, one nightmare

1) Dream A dream of flying, but he will be in his kirin (unicorn) form. Flying through the void and in various different places. Come fly!

2) Dream A dream of being a child, probably in a meadow with a void sky. With Sanshi (cuddle-demon) making flower crowns. Gyousou will be nearby looking Kingly and Stern and omiting an aura of extreme awe (like fire, powerful, scary and warm) that those entering the dream will be able to feel. Also they will be really happy because Gyousou's there. Welcome to being a kirin. Make flower crowns and a new friend!

3) Nightmare Basically I am going to take the 12 kingdoms (think fantasy ancient China) and modern Japan and smush them together in some horrible amalgamation, add parts of the train and then have a door that should not be opened.

What is behind the door will depend on how horrory you want the nightmare to go and I am very open to plotting!

Little One: Having the chase scene cut through Nita's dream could be fun - suddenly some of the locales are even STRANGER alien worlds. ... Might do an overlap with an actual thing Nita lived through, where she helped chase down a kernel through a planet's own mantel. Sound good?

Taiki: I'm thinking flower crowns. Loads of flower crowns, and everyone can hear the flowers sing! Nita talks to plants, this is totally canon what are you talking about?

... Also you summoned me with Horror Door. I am up for plotting on that as well!

Conan/Danny/Will

1. Flying around the Ghost Zone, an endless green void filled with random doors. But unlike the real zone everyone gets along and no one wants to fight him.

2. The Fenton family vacation that will not end. Someone save him.

Will
1. Walking along an ancient stone path deep in the forest. And completely alone. And the road stretches on forever.

2. Being among his friends and family, but every single person has forgotten him.

Dairine Callahan

Dairine's had an exciting life thus far, so there'll be plenty of options for fun or unnerving dreams. A few loose ideas below, which might merge from one to the one.

1. The Crossing's kiosk, but in what looks like one of the train's shop carriages. A helpful giant bug will be there manning it. (Say hi to Sker'ret for her!)

2. A giant room with a small star/sun in the middle. It will be huge and like standing in space, but with a floor. Something speaks, but it is deafening and mostly ineligible. You can't help but feel like it's asking for help.

3. Giant statues of the Wellakhit people loom over you. Looking down on you, accusingly. On a pedestal is the Sunstone, a golden gem on a collar. Every time someone tries to pick it up, it seems to move. Do you feel compelled to chase it?

4. Moving constantly through portals into stranger and stranger places.

5. Alternative between being on a smooth planet and walking through computer code.

6. Also possibly nightmares around her mother's death or the Lone Power, if folks want something darker.

Not yet sure how many dreams. But definitely the ones below:

1) Curufin will definitely be dreaming of the darkest aspects of the past. Some of these dreams will be full of fire and darkness and Orcs and dragons and Balrogs. Of course I might stick something incongruous into at least one of these dreams, like Curufin comes around a corner in his own very medieval territory, maybe chases some Orcs into a canyon and suddenly. . . there's a 7-ll or a Best Buy or a MacDonald's.

2) The good aspects of the past, such as his wild adolescence in the city of Tirion, on the continent of Aman. He'll be forging wonderful objects or building bridges and buildings. And then of course, running around with his cousins, getting drunk, thinking up pranks to play on people, having wild parties.

My main dream plan for Elfnein is her dreaming about Carol which is her other self that was totally the bad guy, then the good guy two seasons later and well... There's just a lot going on

Though, my idea is having it more like it's just the image Elfnein keeps in her mind / there's a funny bit in one of the ovas with the different copies of Carol sharing an apartment space.

47, Garrett, and Piccolo

• Most likely to just have a surreal dream setting with lots of bunnies running around a field or forest-y area and with randomly hidden rubber ducks that squeak when touched/hit. Maybe a canary somewhere. Just. I want the most random and unexpected thing for him possible and that's it. That's his thing.
• Very likely to merge with Lightning's petting-zoo dreamscape early on.
• Potentially everyone that enters his version of the petting-zoo dream will end up dressed in a randomized disguise. Example disguises: paramedic, military soldier, policeman, doctor, hipster techie, server/waiter, gardener, yoga instructor, race car driver, hazmat suit, etc.
• There could be the potential for a nightmare involving his childhood memories merged with recent events and the last train mission... but honestly I'm pretty set on the strange, fluffy dreamscape instead.

Garrett

• Potential nightmare: shadowy tunnels and hallways and tight spaces, the feeling of being watched and/or chased, and quick sightings of The Freaks.
• Additional nightmare fuel: Ryslig style monsters lurking around. potentially characters could even find themselves as monsters while in his dreams. can undergo horrific changes as dream progresses or just start that way from the beginning, up to player comfort vs torture desire.
• Additional nightmare or surreal dreamscape: icy, windy mountains. glowing tribal like symbols and scratches on the rocks, fog and large shadows moving in the hazy surroundings. this is a combination of Ryslig and Voidtreckers last mission combined.
• Garrett may be searching for someone named Erin in his dreams. The sight of a young woman may be caught in the distance, always flitting away before anyone can get close to her. She will NEVER be fully confronted/caught.

Piccolo

• Surreal setting: open plains, random plateaus, forest-y, or waterfall places combined with random city buildings or train carriages, maybe the last train platform somewhere. faceless crowds and city noises can be perceived in those city areas. peaceful animal noises and waterfall or river sounds elsewhere.
• May catch sight of a flying baby or kids floating around the city areas. Maybe the sight of a family all standing together and smiling happily at one another. Yes, it's the Son family.
• Potentially fighting will break out. Piccolo will fight with images of Goku and Gohan or other warriors from time to time. These are not nightmares, Piccolo actually looks quite happy to be fighting these people, whoever they are.
• Possible nightmare: just lots of whistling while Piccolo tries to meditate. the "background" will get all darker and nauseatingly swirly even though he's trying to meditate by a peaceful waterfall. Piccolo will never look happy when there's a whistling scene going on, possibly yelling or cringing at the sound.
• Alternate nightmare: Piccolo gets to "meet" his brothers, the demon clan. the "background" is on fire, burning land, burning cities and villages, etc. the sky is dark colors. evil laughter and crying victims can be perceived. one scenario: Demon King Piccolo shows up and tries to convince his son to join him. worst case scenario: Piccolo is the Demon King and he's laughing maniacally while his real consciousness watches on in horror at himself.

Garrett: Monster-time for Nita, merhaps? I could make her some ghastly sort of merfolk while she's in his dream. And/or she can help chase away the cold with LIGHTNING BOLTS. Or something less harmful.

Piccolo: As mentioned on plurk: bringing earmuffs to a whistling party! Might have her meet the Demon King as well if you're up for that.

Khary dream plotting - spoiler and CW warnings for Black Jewels

Wherever the dream goes, it will start where he was before arriving. Horseback riding on a talking horse. From there it will only get odder. I will post some ideas below, but first I need to give a CW warning.

CW/Trigger warning: While I do my best to keep things very G for myself in general. His series is very NOT. While I don't intend to go into darker topics and am planing to ***** what minimal cursing there might be, there is the potential for darker topics to come up. Most likely violence and gore, either discussed or in the dream itself or both. But basically he knows enough of his own world and what his friends went through that there is the potential for any topic to be mentioned. (Not played out for the R stuff other than violence of course, but it might get mentioned/discussed.) Again, I have no intention of driving things that way and every intention of driving them away. I chose Khary because he is one of the ones LEAST likely to ever post about that stuff. But I had to warn, just in case. Cause his own dreams will be set in the Realms of his own world.


That said, there are a lot of locations and ideas that can be played with, of people want. He can take people the **** to meet Prince Saetan the High Lord and some of the demons. Because it is a dream, maybe even talk to memories of some of the Demons who have gone.

The Keep - a dark mountain full of dark power that houses one of the most impressive libraries in any realm, with a focus on esoteric magic. Of course Khary has read only the smallest fraction of the books so in the dream many of them will be blank....

Not a location but - PUPPIES!!!! Khary helps to raise and train sentient bossy puppies known as Scelties. Want to spend a whole dream playing chase games with a bunch of high energy yappy dogs? Just let me know!

Maghre - Khary's home. Expect a very odd take on the just-post-medieval village, with animals that can speak inside your mind and often know better than you do. And won't hesitate to tell you so.

Sceval - This one can go dark or light. Because the dream could be his memory of the unicorns - yes I said unicorns - before the war came to their territory, or of that horrible first day after. O it could swap between the two.

Glacia - you think that last event was cold? Glacia is year round winter ringed by mountains and braced by biting winds. And ruled by one of the most sharp tongued witches you'll ever meet. She happens to be one of his best friends, so... yeah.

The Hall - Starting in his teens he spent summers and more here. This one would be more for friends who want to travel down memory lane with him and share old stories. (Looking at you. Curufin >.>)

Shalador Nehele - A territory in another realm rebuilding after a war. Hardworking good people that he knows only slightly, so some of the people will be clearer than others. Though there are 13 Scelties there that he helped train and knows very VERY well....


So yeah. A metric ton of ideas. And I can NPC nearly anyone from his canon that he might encounter, seen through the lens of someone who really REALLY misses home..... Willing to plot to craft things specifically for your kiddos and you!

i have a few options i'm mulling over wrt naruto--

mainly him being a fox demon? since i missed last months event i'm delighted by the idea of him manifesting the whole way, as kurama, and just this gigantic fox demon being crammed inside a train carriage getting very annoyed. it could be scary/dangerous or hilarious if he's still chained somehow. poor old fox.

or i could just have him in tailed beast mode, which can be anywhere from a weird orange glow surrounding him to him looking like a sinew monster. obviously with the token growls/non communication due to uh, animal demon influence or whatever.

but for softer things, i also like the idea of naruto dreaming he's a frog and therefore having a carriage full of water, but he can suddenly breathe and talk in it like normal? also powerful swimming.. potential for cute dream frogs..... naruto has a bunch of talking frog friends he can dream about.

porque no los dos.... maybe i'll just do both.
