Train Questionnaire

Thanks for participating but to protect my sanity, no more questionnaires will be accepted.

Welcome to the Voidtrecker. This is, for better or worse, a new world for all of us and we’re stuck here. In order to detect patterns in these abductions, get important safety information, and other important details for living in this community I’m conducting a survey. Please answer everything to the best of your ability. If you have any questions about the form please consult whoever is standing next to you other than me, because you should be intelligent enough to answer these very straight forward questions.

All information presented here will be kept strictly confidential and the purpose is to collect data.
Please fill it out and deliver it to me, Tony Stark. You'll most likely find me in my lab (aka, the quiet room that has a lock, a 'keep out' sign, and glass painted).

[ooc: Just fyi, Tony *will* comment on something about your answers when you hand in your answers IC. I've checked with the mod and these can count toward bonus threads, etc. Also, it's very common that people lie on these forms. Fill them out as your character would IC please.]

*** Update *** I've recruited a few more people to help with these so you all can get a response faster and spare my sanity. If you have a preference between Tony, Feanor, Ignis, and Gladio. This group might be referenced to as the Welcome Committee before too long.

"'Tis no trouble. I answered, so clearly, if there are more questions to clarify, I have already volunteered. More must be done. Ask."

As for his comment on pronunciation, Maebhrin only smiled. His questions took importance, but she might just have a few for him once he was done with his interrogation. Roegadyn. Not a race she was familiar with at all--but there were so many things here she was not familiar with. Why would that be a surprise?

"Dread Thunderstorm." He tapped his chest with a free hand, making clear that he was introducing himself and not offering a weather report. "Probably not surprising that I wanted to ask about this 'blood of a god' answer you talk about here."

Worst case scenario, this was a Ysayle situation. Which would be troubling but not itself a problem. But more likely, it was something stranger and less comprehensible.

"An interesting name." Though she paused to listen, eyebrow arching. "What do you want to know, specifically? At Deismaar, the old human gods fought a great battle. The mountain was destroyed, and in the ensuing destruction, they all lost their lives. There were others present then who were imbued with the blood and power of the old gods, and we their descendants still show traces of godly power to that day. Mine own hails from the god of nobility and war, Anduiras, but he is dead."

That and Maebhrin had never worshipped a god in her life; she had no plans to start now.

Dread nodded slowly as he listened. It sounded like an event of legend, but also one difficult to mistake considering it left a lasting legacy...

"How did the gods get there, and why were they fighting?" Still and yet, nothing about this didn't sound like an Eorzean disaster -- some terrible mix of the Calamity and Ishgardian history.

"The humans of Aduria who swore no allegiance to Azrai, the Shadow, fled to Cerilia, my homeland. There were others who remained, and when the Shadow found where those who decried him fled, he was wont to chase and destroy them. The humans were warned somehow--I am no great student of history, but they chose to make their stand at Mount Deismaar. There once was a land bridge between the continents of Aduria and Cerilia. There is one no longer."

Maebhrin shook her head. "The gods fought on the mountain that day, even as their people fought as well. The deaths of the gods ended the battle--the mountain exploded as Anduiras and Azrai throttled each other. Other than Azrai, the gods wished to see their people free--and the Shadow? He would see those who defied him under his power, or worse."

She heaved a sigh. "A third of the mortals who fought there fell; but when the old gods died, their most devoted followers were raised up as the new gods, the ones who the mortals of my world now worship. Haelyn, Erik, Ruornil, there are others. Even they could not hold all the power of the fallen gods, and it was showered upon the others there. One of my ancestors, long ago, absorbed some small portion of Anduiras' power, and that is why I have it; that was the strongest bloodline I inherited from my parents--my mother was also known for having the power of Reynir and Azrai in her veins--Anduiras came from my father's line."

That did sound painfully like the Calamity. Replace the ones who had been transported to safety with ones who had not, but instead absorbed the energies of Dalamud and Bahamut and been made something else... Perhaps envision that as the source of the Echo, and imagine it spread through others by that detonation.

"I understand what you're saying, I think."

Quite a lot to think about, but it left one question open. "How did the gods get there to begin with? Were they summoned?"
