Thanks for participating but to protect my sanity, no more questionnaires will be accepted.

Welcome to the Voidtrecker. This is, for better or worse, a new world for all of us and we’re stuck here. In order to detect patterns in these abductions, get important safety information, and other important details for living in this community I’m conducting a survey. Please answer everything to the best of your ability. If you have any questions about the form please consult whoever is standing next to you other than me, because you should be intelligent enough to answer these very straight forward questions.

All information presented here will be kept strictly confidential and the purpose is to collect data.
Please fill it out and deliver it to me, Tony Stark. You'll most likely find me in my lab (aka, the quiet room that has a lock, a 'keep out' sign, and glass painted).

[ooc: Just fyi, Tony *will* comment on something about your answers when you hand in your answers IC. I've checked with the mod and these can count toward bonus threads, etc. Also, it's very common that people lie on these forms. Fill them out as your character would IC please.]

[Tony looks up at him and raises an eyebrow.]

Dear diary.. I have a bird in my office.

[He then flashed the boy-bird-hawk-fellow-thing a bit of a smile.]

Please, come in. I'd be happy to write your answers for you if you're willing to take the questionnaire. I'll reiterate since it's a common concern that everything you tell me here will be kept in strict confidence.

[ This is about when Evie shows up, two hot mugs in her hand. She was going to use the toe of her shoe to knock, but the door is already open. When she sees why, she grins.]

Hello, Tobias. Mr Stark, I brought you some coffee.

[ It's not something he asked for, but she knows him well enough to know he works hard, especially when it comes to figuring out what's going on here. So, coffee. ]

<Confidentiality is the least of my concerns,> [Tobias flutters his wings, getting himself up onto the desk and perching at a corner, looking up when Evie appears and suddenly he's very interested in getting his feathers in order.]

<Hey, Evie.>

Ah, so.. is this bird someone from your world?

[This was just really weird, okay? He gives the b- Tobias- a look at hearing he didn't care about confidentiality.]

Are you now talking in both of our heads?

[He gestured to Eva and then accepted the coffee with a thanks. He would've said more but he was a little distracted with the situation.]

No. Sadly. He’d do well in Auradon, though.

[ Evie hands over Mr Starks coffee and takes a seat near Tobias, giving him a grin as she tosses some of her waist length blue hair off her shoulder. ]

He’s the new friend I mentioned.

[ Evie notes the questionnaire and an apologetic look crossed her face. ] Oh, Hades. Is this a bad time? I can leave, unless you need help.

[It takes every shred of self control he has to not lean over and fuss with her hair. He fusses with his own wing, instead.] <It's more like at your heads than in, but yeah, I'm talking to both of you.>

[This time when he speaks, it's so only Evie can hear.] <You can stay. I don't mind.> [And then back to speaking so anyone can hear.] <It works a lot like human speech. Similar range, similar capability. I can speak quietly so only one person can hear, or loudly so anyone can. The only real difference is that physical barriers don't block it. Are you going to write this down? Because I'm not going to repeat it.>

[He'd been too engrossed in the explanation to think to start writing- right up until the bird reminds him. It took effort not to roll his eyes, but he pulled out a fresh copy of the questionnaire.]

Alright well first things first, are all animals or birds in your world capable of talking like this or are you special because of that charming personality?

Do you want me to write this down?

[ Evie knows Mr Stark is capable, but if Tobias wants her to stay, she'll find a reason to. ]

It'll leave your hands free for your coffee.

<I'm special,> [It's a good thing the default hawk expression is glare, because that's exactly what he's going for here, albeit a less vicious one than his hawk face is currently wearing.] <Depending on your definition, I used to be human. Then I got stuck as a hawk. Now I'm a hawk that can occasionally be human, among other things.>

[He takes a little half-step closer to Evie. Very smoothly.]

[Evie didn't have to ask twice. At her offer, he handed over the pen and paper without hesitation. She.. also got an appreciative smile but you weren't supposed to see that.]

I see. How and why were you turned into a hawk? Although I suppose if you had to be turned into something a hawk isn't that bad.

[ Evie noticed the small half-step. And the appreciative smile. She will comment on neither and instead write down the answers Tobias gives. Glancing at Tobias a moment, she tilts her head in a small ‘come over here’ gesture. ]

You explained this to me when we were reading, but I’m afraid I’ll get the spelling wrong. Can you let me know if I’m good or not?

[Tobias steps closer, so that his feathers are just lightly pressing against her arm, and looks down at her work.] <That looks right.> [He has no idea. He hasn't had to spell anything in years. He can read just fine, but spelling? Good luck.]

 [He shuffles his wings a little bit.]

[Tony eyed the two curiously. Was it just him or was Tobias really taken by Evie? For a bird, he had good taste at least.]

Right, since it's impossible for a human to go to the mountains.

[ Evie writes down the answers, briefly shooting Mr Stark a look that might say be nice before looking at Tobias. ]

The Isle didn't have mountains, but Auradon does. I'll have to visit them when I get home, because I've never been to them.

[ Recent missions aside, that is. ]

The last time I was on a mountain, it was for a train mission, and my team and I were escorting children to safety. I think a daytrip where something isn't trying to kill me would be amazing.

<The whole point of living on a mountain is so I don't have to deal with people.> [Specifically people like Tony.] <Ever. The only person I ever see is my mother.>

[He takes a little half-step closer to Evie, his wing now pressed gently to her arm.] <Anyway, I can still change into a human if I really need to, but doing it more than three times in an day is pushing my luck, and I'm not getting stuck with a human body again.> [As if that's somehow a worst case scenario. He leans his head up, using his beak to move a bit of Evie's hair back behind her ear, almost like he's apologizing for saying such mean things about humans.]

[Bird boy was making this weird again. He reached into a bag next to him and pulled out a small bottle of bourbon and added it to his coffee.]

Alright, so yay bird and mountains, and humans suck. Got it. So before you were a hawk, what was technology like? How does it compare to the train?

[He gestured to the automatic opening and shutting doors and such. He takes a long sip of his boozy coffee as he waits for an answer.]

[ Evie wasn't offended by the comment about people. Not everyone was a people person and a social butterfly like her. She also can't imagine hawks like people all that much, so when Tobias tucks her hair behind her ear, she smiles softly at him and leans very gently against his wing. Just a subtle shift in her weight. She wouldn't want to cause him any harm. ]

Maybe some day we'll get to see what human you looks like. But that's entirely up to you.

[ And she's ready to write down whatever Tobias answers with, looking from her bird friend to Mr Stark for a moment as she waits for an answer. ]

<Well... my bodies only age when I'm in them. So my human body's still thirteen, even though I'm at least eighteen.> [And he only knew that because his mother kept track and forced him to celebrate being an 'adult'. As if he hadn't been living on his own for five years already. He'd smile if he could when she leans into him, though.]

<Technology depends on the race. Playstation 2 came out a few years ago, but I haven't really been paying attention to what they've been doing with all the alien tech they've gotten their hands on. I stick to my mountain, but they've discovered Z-space, so long-distance space travel without relying on alien ships is practically around the corner.> [He watches Tony pour the alcohol. Looks at his face for a long moment.] <You name is Tony, right?> [He sounds extremely suspicious of... something.]

[Whether it was the coffee or the information, Tony was just starting to relax a bit more into learning about this strange new person on their train. He didn't really care if the.. Tobias wanted to be a bird or a human. The only reason he'd want to see what he looked like as a human was so he'd be able to recognize the fellow if it was ever an issue.

He nodded along, finding the information about the video games interesting.]

How did they get their hands on a bunch of alien tech?

[The question had him looking up and his eyebrows rose.]

Yes. Did I forget to introduce myself?

[He might have. He was rather surprised about the bird and then Evie came in.]

[ Evie stops writing long enough to look up at Tobias, concerned at the reaction to Mr Stark. She's not going to ask, just wait to see how this plays out. Running her fingers through her hair for a moment and twisting it into a quick bun at the back of her neck, she's not sure what to do with herself. ]

<Tony Stark?> [He tilts his head a little, sizing him up.] <Son of a bitch.> [At least he doesn't sound mad. Maybe a little awe-struck, possibly confused.]

<We -- Humans, but my friends and I more specifically -- put an end to their war for them. We freed the only captive of their race that had ever been taken. It bought humans significant bargaining power. Now they come to Earth as tourists. Mostly for the Cinnabons.> [He steps carefully across the table -- making sure not to disrupt anything Tony has laid out, until he's right in front of him.]

<I'd like to take a sample of your DNA. It won't hurt, but it would mean that I can take on your appearance any time in the future.>

[He shrugged at the 'son of a bitch'. He's just going to pretend this isn't weird by making a joke- it's his thing, don't judge.]

I've been called worse.

[He listened, though he started leaning back as the bird got closer. What the..]

Fuck no!

[He swatted a hand out trying to get the buzzard away from him.]

The hell you will! Get that creepy ass bird out of here! If I ever hear of you taking my appearance, I'll roast you like a fucking turkey!

[Lucky for him, Tobias was used to moving fast in that form, but this time he was a lot less careful about knocking things over, or blowing papers away with his beating wings as he fluttered himself back to Evie's side.] <Jeeze, fine. Don't come crying to me when you need a new liver.> [He shakes his tail in Tony's direction, but it's hard to tell if it's meant to be an insult or just Tobias getting his feathers back in order after all that jumping around.]
