1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Void Trecking
The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!
Board Games
The game carriage is full of games. Every board game imaginable from silly party games to serious strategy games that last for hours. There are a disproportionate amount of games about trains.
Grab some friends, grab a game and some beanbags and get playing! Dive into a world of deck building or play a silly card game. A great way to alleviate boredom.
Happy Holidays
You have arrived in a place which might remind you of Victoria London if Victoria London had floating palaces and was ruled by wizards.
Their rule is strict and any kind of Winter celebration is banned. You have been called by a group of rebels to help with an underground celebration.
Team One
Distraction. Be out in the city, keep watch. If the guards get anywhere near the secret entrances distract them. Perhaps by being a lost tourist. Perhaps by causing mayhem. Make sure the organisers and party goers can arrive without a hitch.
Team Two
A party is not complete without food. The party is being held underground and there isn't much in the way of kitchens and do help bake in people's houses and smuggle the food across the city. Careful of guards.
Team Three
The venue needs decorating and the presents need wrapped. It might be an underground bunker but everyone is determined to make it the best festival ever, despite the risks. Help make it happen!
Party
Of course after all that hard work there is time to celebrate before you must board the train once more.
Eat drink and be merry!

Holidays, Team Three
He slips through the streets amongst the floating buildings and keeps his mind tuned to possible intruders, since this is a world of wizardry, and wizards in any world are often strong telepaths. He doesn't want to get arrested on his way to the bunker.
He slides between two ornate brick buildings set close together and on the ground, and finds a doorway in one of the walls. He knocks quietly and is let in. He goes down a couple of flights of stairs and comes out into a basement room in which the walls are hung with garlands of holly and ivy, and these are festooned with velvet bows of many colors. On a long table, there are many gifts and much wrapping paper and ribbon, and paper and scissors for making gift tags He sits down beside a blonde man who seems to be competing with others to get the most presents wrapped, but who is fussing quietly over his hands. Several of his fingers are bandaged already, so he must have run out of the bandages.
"Hello?" he greets the man. "I know where the bandaids are. Shall I go and get some more?"
no subject
"Umm... please." A beat. "Thank you."
He won't follow Curufin with more than his gaze, to perhaps learn where these bandages are himself, should he need even more in the future. He treats his currently-offending finger favourably as he tries to finish the present he's working on, finishing another elegant job as he waits for Curufin to arrive with the bandage.
"I've never seen so many..." he says, almost softly, as Curufin returns.
no subject
He brings a whole box of bandaids back to Noah, hands the box to him, and sits down next to him. He pulls some wrapping paper and ribbon over to his work place, chooses a gift, and starts to wrap it.
"You've never seen so many what? Gifts?" he asks, in a friendly fashion.
no subject
"Yes. I mean, I guess Leon and I have to work hard to make ends meet. So buying a lot of gifts is almost out of the question."
He pauses, wondering if Lindsay, Ran, and Ren would love to get a lot of presents someday.
Yet, somehow, a faint smile appears on his lips.
"I guess it doesn't matter too much, though. We're a pretty happy family back home."
Another beat.
"Were you kidnapped, too? From your home?" Like he was? How painful it is to be away from your loved ones, especially during the holidays. He can imagine others feel the same.
no subject
"That's all that matters, that you and your family are happy. Gifts are nice but superfluous."
And as for being kidnapped: "I wasn't in my own world when the VoidTrecker Express picked me up. I died in my world and was twice kidnapped into other universes. The last world I lived in, I left deliberately. I was drifting through the Void, in spirit form. I guess you could say I was hitchhiking. I wasn't sorry to be picked up. Besides, some of my family are here. Both my parents, two of my brothers, and one of my cousins. I miss the rest of them, though."
He remembers his manners. "I haven't introduced myself. I'm Curufin Fëanorion, and I'm of the Elvish race. What is your name? I'm pleased to meet you, but it sounds as though you must miss your home and your family?"
no subject
"Dead? Wait... Other universes?"
Worlds, yes. But universes? It's almost too incredible for the poor Deterrent to grasp.
He forgets to introduce himself for the moment; he's got more important issues to press.
"Are you a familiar? Do you mean you were disowned by your previous masters?" Because... that would actually make more sense. If death means changing hands, that makes way more sense.
no subject
And then Noah asks a confusing question.
"What is a familiar? No one is my master, not even in the past."
