Test Drive Meme 007

Welcome to our Test Drive Meme! Here is the place to see how your character might fit the setting, grab some samples and start having fun!

1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!

2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!

3. Have much fun!

Happy testing!

Void Trecking

The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!

Board Games

The game carriage is full of games. Every board game imaginable from silly party games to serious strategy games that last for hours. There are a disproportionate amount of games about trains.

Grab some friends, grab a game and some beanbags and get playing! Dive into a world of deck building or play a silly card game. A great way to alleviate boredom.

Happy Holidays

You have arrived in a place which might remind you of Victoria London if Victoria London had floating palaces and was ruled by wizards.

Their rule is strict and any kind of Winter celebration is banned. You have been called by a group of rebels to help with an underground celebration.

Team One

Distraction. Be out in the city, keep watch. If the guards get anywhere near the secret entrances distract them. Perhaps by being a lost tourist. Perhaps by causing mayhem. Make sure the organisers and party goers can arrive without a hitch.

Team Two

A party is not complete without food. The party is being held underground and there isn't much in the way of kitchens and do help bake in people's houses and smuggle the food across the city. Careful of guards.

Team Three

The venue needs decorating and the presents need wrapped. It might be an underground bunker but everyone is determined to make it the best festival ever, despite the risks. Help make it happen!

Party

Of course after all that hard work there is time to celebrate before you must board the train once more.

Eat drink and be merry!

They've been forward into the future, back into the past, and visited planets beyond her solar system - even her own galaxy. Yet she's never been to an alternate version of her world. One so clearly different from her own. "Do you really need to talk to whoever's in charge to find that out? Couldn't we just ask one of the people we're helping?" Her voice is quiet so as not to get them caught by the authorities.

Clara glances over to him, a frown on her face. "So we're just going to leave these people without truly helping them? We've done more in less time."

Throwing a celebration for a group of rebels is all well and good but they could try to bring the winter celebrations back for everyone.

Truthfully, the Doctor is just itching to get out and explore the new planet-to ask the locals questions and of course find out the reason for no celebrations-specifically winter celebrations. That's oddly specific.

"Oh c'mon Clara. When I have I ever just done as I was asked? No, no. We'll get the party ready, maybe do a bit of dancing and then sneak off to see what's really going on. Time to steal Christmas back from the Grinch."

That's what she's talking about! Clara knew the Doctor couldn't have just left things like they were and now he says it, there's an excited bounce in her step. Secret celebrations and a mystery to solve. Now that is a Christmas worth getting wrapped up in.

"Just have to get some dancing in, don't you?" She can't help but laugh happily. In the next moment, Clara is pulling out something and holding it up to him. A black, square, familiar item that actually belongs to him in the first place. Which does bring up the question of why she has his psychic paper in the first place? "You might need this to properly sneak in."

"Of course. It's not a party without a bit of dancing." He says brightly as they continue walking, his arm still slung over her shoulder like it belongs there. He pauses briefly when she pulls out the psychic paper and frowns a bit before taking it. Did he leave it with her last he saw her?

"Well, that's lucky. Now I've got the psychic paper and my screw driver-I'm almost in good shape again. Now if I could just sort out where the TARDIS has got to..." He says contemplatively.

"So what d'you think? A quick appearance at the Party, ask a few questions and then off to do some investigating of our own?"

"As long as you have one dance with me, I suppose it's fine," she replies lightly even if Clara absolutely means to have that dance. Even if it's just the two of them being silly together. About that, Clara can't exactly say that his Twelfth face gave her not just the psychic paper but also the sonic and the TARDIS was small enough to fit in her bag. Only the paper showed up here with her so luckily she doesn't have to explain why there are two sonic screwdrivers even if it would be handy.

"You don't have the HADS set again on the TARDIS, right?" Teasing him a little bit. "I'm sure she'll turn up eventually."

Clara gives him a quick, eager nod of her head. "With hardly anyone celebrating, we'll have to be extra careful not to get caught."

"Aw, of course I'd save a dance for you." He says cheerily, squeezing her closer and pressing a sloppy kiss against her head. Did you miss this Clara? Are you sure? "We'll really show them how to tango, me and you." He sounds just as gleeful about the idea as maybe one might except from him.

"The HADS? Who'd been teaching you to fly? Did she ever forgive you for calling her a Snogbox?"

[personal profile] ekho 2019-12-18 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course she missed this. As much as she loves his Twelfth incarnation, this face will always be her first. The rest of them all came after meeting this one considering how she bounced all over his timeline. She laughs at that. "Do you even know how to tango, Doctor?"

Oh. He doesn't even remember that much? Then he really is early on in their time together. "There's only one person who could teach me, isn't there? The TARDIS and I have worked things out. We get along just fine, thanks."
usernamesarecool: (I am so cool)

[personal profile] usernamesarecool 2019-12-18 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course I do!" He responds. He's over a thousand years old, he's tango'd a time or two. It just that his usual brand of dancing is a bit off what most would consider normal.

"Oh, that's good. I'd hate for her to still be being catty. She's really quite a gem, you know." He's not even slightly bothered by the fact she's further along then him. Time travel after all-sometimes it happens.

"Now then, what do we think? Some great tragedy ruined Christmas for the king and now everyone else must suffer?"
ekho: (90)

[personal profile] ekho 2019-12-23 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll believe that when I see it." Clara will only believe it when she sees this Doctor manage it without flailing or falling about. He can sometimes be all left feet in just normal situations and the tango isn't exactly an easy dance.

"Well, not sure I'd go that far but we've come to an agreement, at least." The agreement is that they both want to look after the Doctor - keep him from dying permanently and leaving the universe an emptier, hollower feeling place. As for how further along she is in the future, Clara will never say that she saw him lose this face and replace it with another.

She hums thoughtfully as that question. "Perhaps his wife loved Christmas and used to go big every year, then she got sick and passed away. Now it only serves as a painful reminder of her." Or it could be nothing like that at all but Clara can make up a story for the theory.
