Test Drive Meme 006
1. Post with your character. I’ve written out some prompts but feel free to make up your own, you have a whole train to play with!
2. Assume they have been around long enough for threads to jump right into the action!
3. Have much fun!
Happy testing!
Void Trecking
The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!
Relaxing
The newest carriage to be added to the Voidtrecker Express is a rock garden. In a glass domed carriage, flickering with the light of the void the rock garden is a peaceful and medative space, full of mosaics, a pond, fountains and small stony bridges.
It's also the closest to an outside space you have and so is likely to be used for less than peacful activities. Splash in the rivers, race around the paths. Or try and relax on a bench and read amongst the chaos.
Goblin Town
Goblins riding wolves, everyone's favourite foe. The wolves fly, obviously and the goblins fight with short spears, almost like knights on horseback if the knights were terrifying and demonic looking. They are causing trouble by harassing a small village.
Team One
Fight the goblins. A handful of weapons have been provided but mostly you need to try and outsmart the goblins. They can come from any direction, including up. Try and keep the village safe from their attacks.
Team Two
Protect the villagers, help them barricade their houses. Deal with any goblins that get through team one's defences. Some of the villagers want to help and that's alright, some of the villagers want to help and are still in single digits, that's probably less alright. Keep everyone safe!
Team Three
The thing with sieges is, some things still need to happen. People still need to eat. Babies need fed and looked after. Animals need tended. Try and help with the logistics of everything in the heart of the village, as far away from the fighting as possible.
Pick a team, go wild!

"Is that actual woo woo magic gestures type magic or are you a proper magician like me? I haven't been able to find wire thin enough to get away with it on the train yet."
no subject
He lets himself fall back to the ground after a moment and folds his arms with a pout. "Maybe I'll tell you if you show yourself."
no subject
"What, haven't you worked out where I am yet?" The door down the corridor opens, and a teen with hair that looks like it eats combs for breakfast leans out to waggle his fingers in hello.
"Kaito. Kuroba Kaito. Nice to meetcha!"
no subject
"You're good at throwing your voice!" He has very little experience with that particular trick. He bows politely, arms moving up to form a circle before him, flute at an angle. "Wei Wuxian." Straightening, he plucks the talisman from his shoulder and holds it out, letting the paper bow before wiggling playfully at Kaito.
"What's a magician?"
no subject
He grins. "It's probably one of my favourite tricks. I can do voices too" He says, in the voice of a little girl.
(AND he doesn't need to use no stinking bowtie, Conan cheats)
"I am! Magic tricks and sleight of hand, escape artist and entertainment~"
no subject
He waves a hand as if dismissing it all and the talisman drifts back to wiggle under his hoodie. "Most of what cultivators do is to protect people from monsters and puppets. But it can get boring, so I invent things that do other things."
no subject
"And are you saying your monsters puppet people?"
no subject
"There are monsters, and then there are puppets made from corpses."
no subject
"So you're like the miko and houshi in my world, I guess."
He blinks. "EW?!"
no subject
no subject
"Do you want to start a zombie apocalypse?!"
no subject
"They're not that difficult to deal with!"
no subject
"Oh no. You magic wizard people might find it easy, but anyone whose played a few games or watched the right movies know that it's the literal Worst Thing Ever! You can't kill what's already dead!"
no subject
Wei Ying struggles to contain his laughter, but Kaito is just adding fuel to his amusement! Just. Gonna. Slide on down to the floor.
BUT.
FOCUSING.
He wipes his eyes with another couple laughs. "What's a...movie?"
no subject
He mimes a shocked gasp.
"You... don't know what a movie is? MY FRIEND, YOU ARE IN FOR AN EDUCATION"
He points dramatically.
"To the entertainment car! Although there's not a great selection, we should still be able to find you something."
A teeny bit more seriously. "Movies are basically plays - you know what they are, yeah? But we record them - capture pictures over and over and play them back so fast it looks like they're moving. Add sound over the top and special effects, and BOOM."
no subject
Wei Ying laughs and scrambles back to his feet and dares to get close enough to sling an arm casually across Kaito's shoulders.
"Aah. That must take a lot of time!"
Definitely will be dragging Lan Zhan to see these 'movies'!
no subject
He grins back.
"For the guys who make em? Oh yes. Months and months and months! Years, sometimes. But they're getting really damn impressive, these days. C'mon, I'll show you."
COMMENCE DRAGGING.
no subject
He's definitely impressed by the amount of time people spend on one of these movie things. Kaito won't have any trouble dragging him along, though Wei Ying lets him take the lead as he doesn't know what each of these train compartment things are called just yet.
"Don't they get bored doing one thing over and over again though?"
no subject
"I figure they must like it, or they wouldn't keep doing it, right?"
He briefly names the carriages as they walk.
no subject
....Trade?
Wei Ying gives him a playful little shove of the shoulder as he lets go, and links his arms at his back as they walk. He makes note of each carriage and what Kaito calls them, knowing his husband will want to hear all he's learned.
"Ahh, I guess so."
no subject
He grins at him. "Well. They get paid too. And pretty handsomely, from what I hear!"
no subject
Wei Ying laughs. "Aaah, I see! Do you make a lot being a...magician?"
no subject
Bzzt try again!
"Nah. I'm still a student. Once I graduate, mebbe."
no subject
Oh! What about music? He promises not to summon any dead that might be haunting the train.
"Aah? How much longer do you have?"
