Void Trecking

The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!

Relaxing

The newest carriage to be added to the Voidtrecker Express is a rock garden. In a glass domed carriage, flickering with the light of the void the rock garden is a peaceful and medative space, full of mosaics, a pond, fountains and small stony bridges.

It's also the closest to an outside space you have and so is likely to be used for less than peacful activities. Splash in the rivers, race around the paths. Or try and relax on a bench and read amongst the chaos.

Goblin Town

Goblins riding wolves, everyone's favourite foe. The wolves fly, obviously and the goblins fight with short spears, almost like knights on horseback if the knights were terrifying and demonic looking. They are causing trouble by harassing a small village.

Team One

Fight the goblins. A handful of weapons have been provided but mostly you need to try and outsmart the goblins. They can come from any direction, including up. Try and keep the village safe from their attacks.

Team Two

Protect the villagers, help them barricade their houses. Deal with any goblins that get through team one's defences. Some of the villagers want to help and that's alright, some of the villagers want to help and are still in single digits, that's probably less alright. Keep everyone safe!

Team Three

The thing with sieges is, some things still need to happen. People still need to eat. Babies need fed and looked after. Animals need tended. Try and help with the logistics of everything in the heart of the village, as far away from the fighting as possible.

"So you're not threatened by me, I didn't expect you would be." The Doctor admits, his anger still swirling just beneath the surface. If he had a pound for every person or creature he'd ever come across that wasn't threatened by him he'd probably have a lot of money.

"Someone with experience doesn't need to prove they have it, Thanos. They just have to have it." He's not move by the disbelief.

"And you see, that's where you're wrong. You assume you're some kind of god-worse you think you're benevolent God and everyone else is there for you to step on-that they're somehow beneath you. They're not. No one person is more important than the next, the universe doesn't work like that-it's not a zoo-they're capable of thinking for themselves-of solving their own problems. Some of them will fail but others won't but that's how it works. They don't need your help."

The irritation was building. He had done something subconsciously, he had realized at this point what, but now he was struggling with the why, and this self-important worm was chattering so incessantly that it was becoming hard to think. Finally, Thanos stood to his full height and turned to the Doctor. He truly looked at him, taking in this completely unremarkable person by all appearances. He looked the part of a spoiled toddler who was not getting his way.

"I assume nothing," Thanos said, the anger dripping into his voice. "And you make a game of misunderstanding an obvious metaphor. You are the zookeeper, timelord, attempting to rein in an animal you see as out of line. I am no animal, and I will see that life is freed from your tyranny of complacency and contentment."

He took a step closer to the Doctor. "And you make so many assumptions. You assume that I will not kill you where you stand regardless of your ignorant and bombastic words. A dangerous and incorrect assumption."

The Doctor isn't moved at all, not be the man's height and not by the threat on his life. "You could do that but bad penny is my middle name and I always keep coming back. Might have to change my face a bit though." He admits, almost casually. "Besides, that'd be a bit rude, we're only having a conversation." He finally stands up from the tree he's been leaning again, eyes going dark as he he lets just a glimpse of his real fury leak out.

"And just so we're clear-just so you understand how little I actually think of you-I would never make the mistake of comparing you to an animal." He says flatly, arms crossed and still not scared. "You're a virus, and I'm The Doctor."

Not moving made it easy to close the distance between the two.

"Words are cheap, Doctor," Thanos replies. He cares nothing for the parlor trick of the man changing his eye color. As The Doctor continues his tirade, Thanos closes the distance completely, leaving him an arms length away, Thanos towering over him. He glowers down at the Doctor as the man finishes his last words.

Thanos chuckles. "A virus? Perhaps you should have gotten your vaccinations, then."

He reaches out to grasp the Doctor by the throat.

The Doctor may not be scared of Thanos, but that doesn't mean he's lacking in terms of self-preservation. In a flash, he's stepping back, out of reach and back towards the door. But he's not done talking yet, he's never quite done talking.

"Do you always respond to criticism this way?" He asks, doing his best to keep out of reach. He likes the face he has now and he'd really rather not regenerate if at all possible. Luckily, or maybe he'd planned it this way, he was never very far from the door where he was leaning so quick step out and a whir from his sonic screwdriver hopefully slides the door to the car closed, another whir And... well, he's really hoping it's locked now.
