Void Trecking

The thing about being on a train hurtling through void space is there’s not much to see. Outside the window lies an endless void of kaleidoscope colours shifting and swirling. It’s probably best not to stare at it too long. Do so and you might start to imagine order in it. Shapes, places, even figures. But your eyes shift... Back to chaos. Probably best you do something else other than stare out the window. Or convince your fellow passengers that void watching leads to headaches!

Relaxing

The newest carriage to be added to the Voidtrecker Express is a rock garden. In a glass domed carriage, flickering with the light of the void the rock garden is a peaceful and medative space, full of mosaics, a pond, fountains and small stony bridges.

It's also the closest to an outside space you have and so is likely to be used for less than peacful activities. Splash in the rivers, race around the paths. Or try and relax on a bench and read amongst the chaos.

Goblin Town

Goblins riding wolves, everyone's favourite foe. The wolves fly, obviously and the goblins fight with short spears, almost like knights on horseback if the knights were terrifying and demonic looking. They are causing trouble by harassing a small village.

Team One

Fight the goblins. A handful of weapons have been provided but mostly you need to try and outsmart the goblins. They can come from any direction, including up. Try and keep the village safe from their attacks.

Team Two

Protect the villagers, help them barricade their houses. Deal with any goblins that get through team one's defences. Some of the villagers want to help and that's alright, some of the villagers want to help and are still in single digits, that's probably less alright. Keep everyone safe!

Team Three

The thing with sieges is, some things still need to happen. People still need to eat. Babies need fed and looked after. Animals need tended. Try and help with the logistics of everything in the heart of the village, as far away from the fighting as possible.

[ Peter offers a quick salute but it's the wrong hand then he winces as that goblin becomes very familiar with Cap's fist. ]

Sucks to be you, buddy.

[ He tells it before looking back up at Steve and then away. ]

Well, I mean.. define injuries. I have a healing factor-I'm good. I'm gold.

[ He assures, shooting more webs at Goblins and making them crash into each other. ]

[ Yeah, he's aware of your strength potential, Peter. That doesn't mean he's not going to worry. Or not laugh at the salute. He takes the brief lull in stride, grateful for a minute to breath before another horde of goblins streams in their direction. ]

No need to salute, son. I'm not your C.O.

[ Steve shifts, adjusting the position of the shield on his arm. ]

Let me know if it gets overwhelming.

Uh... right.

[ Peter nods, trying not to feel too embarrassed. ]

Can I just say-I mean I've said a lot in the past few minutes, but it's nice to like.. be on your side this time.

[ He says a bit awkwardly, trying to hide his giddiness at the face Captain America just called him son. He'd heard that Steve called people that sometimes, but now he needs to tell Ned that Captain Friggin' America referred to him as son. ]

I can try and like make a web or something to keep them back-the webs dissolve in about two hours but it's something.

[ Truth be told, Steve is a little awkward around kids. Or teenagers who also moonlight as heroes. He's not entirely sure how to approach Peter, what with the elephant in the room named Tony Stark. Also with the obvious nerves. He'd almost chalk it up to the kid thinking he's someone to look up to, but unfortunately, Steve doesn't think he is that kind of man, so it follows that nobody else should either. (Common sense and Steve Rogers don't always see eye to eye.)

Even with all those goddamn public service videos. ]

Well, I can't say I'm not glad for the help. [ He tilts his head, looking at the currently goblin-free expanse of ground in front of them, then eyes Peter. ] That's not a bad idea. Do you think you could string some between groups of trees? Might slow 'em down.

[ Peter just offers a very enthusiastic nod, ready and willing to show off his skills to Captain America. Wait until he tells Gwen, and Miles. And Kaito-even though he's pretty sure Kaito doesn't know who Captain America is. ]

Yeah, yeah! Of course! Definitely! No problem at all! I can do that now!

[ He shoots his webs off in the distance and pulls himself away to set up some webs in the trees and hopefully not run out of fluid because Tony might actually kill him. Although this is what his webs are for right? ]

[ Tony will absolutely not try to kill Peter. At least not without Steve getting right up into his face about it. You know, because he knows everything about mentoring kids. (Or nothing at all.) But that's clearly a conversation for another day. With the continuing breather, Steve focuses most of his attention on what Peter is doing with the webbing, directing him to three different tree clusters. ]

There, there, and over there. Don't waste too much of it, [ Because he's not entirely sure how the webbing is made. ] Then get back here. [ Peter is strong and much smarter than he looks, but Steve is responsible for his well-being in this battle and he'd rather not lose anyone on his team. ]

[ Peter works fast, hopping between the small groups of trees, flipping here and there and using his webs to quickly move from place to place as he sets his traps. He's never really done this before-it's kinda fun. He can always make more webfluid if he has to-or order more if he gets enough team points. ]

[ He doesn't come back immediately after he's called, he wraps a few more webs around more trees and then springs back to the front line. ]

How's that?

[ He asks with a grin, slightly breathless. ]

[ And Steve watches him, physically gesturing toward a couple of places that one or two stealth spider-threads would do wonders for the impact of surprise. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how much the webbing lasts - or doesn't last - and perhaps is placing too much importance on slowing down the other side.

Hence the gleam in his gaze when Peter finally trudges back. ]

Looks really good from here. I like that you can see some of the string, but not all of it.
