The irritation was building. He had done something subconsciously, he had realized at this point what, but now he was struggling with the why, and this self-important worm was chattering so incessantly that it was becoming hard to think. Finally, Thanos stood to his full height and turned to the Doctor. He truly looked at him, taking in this completely unremarkable person by all appearances. He looked the part of a spoiled toddler who was not getting his way.

"I assume nothing," Thanos said, the anger dripping into his voice. "And you make a game of misunderstanding an obvious metaphor. You are the zookeeper, timelord, attempting to rein in an animal you see as out of line. I am no animal, and I will see that life is freed from your tyranny of complacency and contentment."

He took a step closer to the Doctor. "And you make so many assumptions. You assume that I will not kill you where you stand regardless of your ignorant and bombastic words. A dangerous and incorrect assumption."
