Elizabeth looks confused at that statement, but humanity is frequently doing stupid things when under the sway of Erebus, or any of the great old ones, or several beings on that television thing.

"Why should anyone care who enforces the law in their communities, as long as it is done in a way that benefits humanity?"

She then looks down and gets quiet, "He died so that humanity was not destroyed. And in the millions of realities I was able to view, that sacrifice was required for everyone else to live."
