Faux would very much like to be doing some scouting. So he may be acquiring a drone to team up with to locate time distortions. I've been told that this area of the mission is orangish so I guess he's with orange team this mission.

He can defend himself and others if need be, further on if/when antagonists pop out, since his hands will be free, or he can just invisible him or others and scurry away.
