Elidibus's Trade Goods OOC (Not its official name)

Elidibus is going to be publicly offering (limited) assistance with crafting/transmogrifying/etc through his creation magic. For IC and OOC reasons there are things he will and will not do (regardless of whether he is technically ABLE to). Mod approval will be sought for anything complex, if it's not outright rejected by Elidibus. You may also provide proof of mod approval if you did so before approaching Elidibus (but Elidibus still reserves the right to ICly reject a request).

FFXIV Ancient's Creation Magic takes the following:

Aether (or things that can be broken down into aether like the clothing one wants changed, etc; aether in this case boils down to 'basic building blocks of life/existence'). Any small amounts of 'extra' needed (for adjustments in mass or so forth) will be provided by Elidibus. Without mod approval, only FFXIV canon people will be able to provide extra aether in the right fashion to Elidibus.

Focus (example of getting distracted from canon: Someone tried to make a cat, got distracted by an eagle landing nearby, suddenly gryphon invented). Basically don't interrupt him while he's making a thing; you will get what you helped create as a result.

Time (like all good things.) Clothes? Quick and easy. The more complex the item, the longer it would take. But most things that should be requested will be simple and fast.

Will Do

1. Change, adjust, resize, dye, etc the cosmetic appearance of objects or use the raw materials provided to make another object (socks into gloves or clothes into bedding, making an insulated lining, long sleeves, etc).

2. WITH PROVIDED MATERIALS, create something (though if he knows someone has the equivalent skill to make said object he may redirect you. For instance weapons, armor, etc etc. This is as much for spreading CR and not stepping on toes.)

3. Make duplicates of a provided item (again with materials for the duplicates). Give him an object and he can essentially learn it and reproduce it with the correct materials. But he needs his blueprints first and that includes raw materials unique to a world or color shades. If he doesn't know the color he can't really provide it can he! Note that in the case of duplicates, mod approval will be sought and Elidibus generally won't do something like 'duplicate computer' or things that can be ordered more efficiently with points.

4. Repair something. This may include magic or enchanted items, but will seek mod approval if it comes up.

Will NOT Do

1. Create something from 'nothing' or just aether/provided energy. Usually. Personally creating something like bandages for first aid or a small toy figurine is one thing. Special circumstances approved by mods another. But for the purposes of what he's offering, he generally won't bypass the use of the vendor shop or gathering materials from missions or making inventive use of certain objects in the train.

2. Work on or create anything living. Animated (robots/constructs/etc) sure possibly. But actual beasts, nope. Can he? Moot issue. Flesh and blood things are out of bounds.

3. Dye your clothes in the blood of your enemies (literally)? No. You also might receive stern guidance on restraint if you ask.

4. Will not work or try to work on vital components of the train (unless the train requests it I guess? Does the train want to look pretty Katy?).

5. Also probably won't mess with complex machines. Pimp your laptop casing; yes. Respec your laptop components, no. MIGHT create a COMPONENT of a machine depending on circumstances/emergency.

6. CAN'T work on something he doesn't know. For example: special exotic item/material exclusive to your world needs to be vendor bought so he can learn it. Very specific color? He absolutely needs to see it to get it right. Basically if you provide him with the object or the color he can take the time to learn it (Objects == Blueprints basically. Blueprints are actually NOT Blueprints in this case, though if you gave him one he could try to create an actual object.)
