He's got strong resistance to psychic stuff - it's not 100% immunity but considering his senses if he has warning he can just close his eyes and be fine.

Yeah no if he sees team members with guns he'll take spots away from them. Laser guns that make pew pew noises are fine, anything that sounds like a pistol or a ballistics-type gun won't go over well.
