If he can get to the nearest of the destroyed labs, will he discover anything that will be helpful to the mission? And would he only need to go to one of the destroyed labs to find out? Or would he need to visit all of them?

He won't be going solo, he's taking at least one teammate. And he can stay awake at night to keep watch. And fight.
