It says something of Jean-Claude's character that he does not exactly seem surprised by this revelation. It says something about the change in Joscelin as well. They have known each other for quite some time now, and he has never known the other to willingly embrace him before. All previous contact between the pair of them has been initiated by Jean-Claude himself, and reluctantly returned by Joscelin in kind.
