She cracks a wry grin. “We found out the other day that we’re on a rogue train,” she says, and she seems genuinely excited about it. She slides her notebook across to Rufus, showing him her transcription of the message that had popped up on the ICP before everything went to hell. “After this came up, the train shut off the translator that keeps everyone understanding each other, probably to distract us from the message. After 24 hours, it was like nothing had even happened.”
