Given that you no longer seem to be experiencing the effects of the Geostigma, sir, I assume you are from a similar timeline.” She moves her bishop, threatening Rufus’s king. “Check, sir.”

There are still ways Rufus can get out of check; by moving to capture the King, Elena has left her other pieces vulnerable. She’s still impulsive, hot headed, even after more than two years as a Turk.
