The movie on the screen was not Disney's The Lion King, but it was something very similar. A young animated lioness was cast from her home for a crime he didn't commit and must team up with a punchdrunk gorilla boxer and a snarky parrot to reclaim her home from a sinister usurper.
Verna started out bored but with nothing better to do, but as the plot moved along she started getting subtly more and more invested until, by the climax, her eyes were transfixed on the screen. So when someone started to stand up from the row of seats in front of her she actually growled at them. And it wasn't the kind of growl a person makes. It sounded more like some great hunting beast that made primitive humans hide in their caves. It was a sound that told the primitive ape that was underneath the civilized veneer of all humans that the smart move was to sit the fuck back down.
-Jungle Heights team two-
Siege lay in wait up in the branches, with an improvised warhammer in her hand. She felt better with her feet on the ground, honestly, but she could adapt. She lay in wait and watched, as the villagers ran by in panic in the layer of trees beneath her where the village proper was constructed. The last of them, a haggard rear guard, was brandishing spears at the oncoming beasts, but they didn't look like they had the morale to stand up to a determined charge. Fortunately, they didn't have to.
Once the beast was right beneath her, Siege screamed and leaped, bringing the hammer down RIGHT as it looked up to see what the racket was so that it smashed right into the beast's mouth and sent a spray of blood and shattered teeth out to either side. Stunned and in pain, the beast actually fell off of the wooden platform and down to the forest floor far below.
The warriors behind her saw something else than a girl with a lion's tail fighting the monsters, though. They saw an almost shining figure, laying waste to their enemies. It was the most natural thing in the world to follow her. And she knew they would follow her. Siege was good at being followed.
She brandished the bloody hammer in the air and shouted "After them! They will rue the day they dared to stand against us!" And the counter-charge began.
-Bonus Prompt-
Verna has been COOKING! Probably because it's her team's job and she is very responsible. Unfortunately some fool put her in charge of dessert. She made some kind of fruit cobbler that looks perfectly edible, at least until you bite into it. It has absolutely no sugar in it and is, in fact, incredibly sour.
She's having her serving of it with every sign of enjoyment, though.
[OOC: "Siege" is Verna's codename that she uses during operations. It's also the name the game uses 90% of the time, so it's what I went with for the top level name]
