Tangle continued to keep up, sometimes throwing cannonballs away, sometimes into each other, and sometimes managing to hurl them back at the ship. When Shard opens fire again, she breaths a sigh of relief once she realizes they hit some of their main cannons.

"Good work!" she said. "I think we can keep this-"

Suddenly, a loud groaning filled the air, and Tangle grit her teeth. "Oh, what the heck is that?"

On the enemy ship, a large hatch was opening up, revealing a very large, and very out-of-era harpoon launcher. Seemed the game was upping the difficulty in response to the players' "skill".
