The joke did get a sharp exhalation, almost - but not quite - a snort. That was the most people have been getting out of him since he joined the train, so Webmind was doing well.

"It may be a bit selfish that I'm glad that most are here from Midgard." He decided to join in on the little joke. "Makes relating a lot easier. I don't even know what to say to that guy with fire for a head, you know?"

Aaron tilted his head a little bit at the idea about the timing just being off. That was entirely possible, actually. He just assumed maybe they were from parallel earths because of some of the more interesting people were from such varied worlds.

"I admit I hadn't considered that. Uh..." He seemed to think about it, scratching the back of his neck as a nervous tick. "Heh, sorry. Time was never something I was good at keeping track of." A few days, maybe a month, sure, but the years? He hoped Webmind didn't catch that and call him on it.

After an uncomfortable moment, he seemed to do the math. "I think it was 2017 or 2018 about the time before I ended up here? I'm sure you're from, like, 2385, or something. An, uh... We didn't figure out how to do a true consciousness with computers, I guess. Nowhere close." That was clumsy as hell and probably pretty rude, but he was trying.
